- digmystuff, on 12/04/2008, -0/+139a funny 404 shows the kind of attention to detail I like to see in a site
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -1/+104what a coincidence, the server is down.

- dlrudden, on 12/04/2008, -0/+40how could they forget homestar runner's '404d!' page?

Makes no sense. - agentlame, on 12/04/2008, -0/+22I've always like Hulu's: http://www.hulu.com/404
No matter how many times I see it, I always watch that clip. - inactive, on 12/04/2008, -1/+23Site is down. Oh the irony in this submission. It's like the time it rained on my wedding day.
- AYork, on 12/04/2008, -1/+20Can't forget the classics:
Once upon a midnight dreary,
While I websurfed, weak and weary,
Over many a strange and spurious website of "hot chicks galore",
While I clicked my fav'rite bookmark,
Suddenly there came a warning,
And my heart was filled with mourning,
Mourning for my dear amour.
"'Tis not possible," I muttered,
"Give me back my free hardcore!" —
Quoth the server, "404". - Garofoli, on 12/04/2008, -0/+16No 404 of their own...
- tj241, on 12/04/2008, -1/+14Heh Soocial's is great. What movie is that photo from?
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -8/+21mirror? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO
- dajuggernaut, on 12/04/2008, -1/+13This servers 404 is so prosaic in comparison...
- cryonix, on 12/04/2008, -1/+13I think you mean this one
http://www.homestarrunner.com/systemisdown.html - Kajarago, on 12/04/2008, -0/+11It ended on an "out" which makes even less sense.
- jrtcs, on 12/04/2008, -0/+11We all are looking forward to your vastly superior list of 404 pages.
- BrendanSheehan, on 12/04/2008, -5/+15Yeah: http://www.hongkiat.com/404
- BrendanSheehan, on 12/05/2008, -0/+9I take it people missed the point of that link. You write a story about 404 pages the least you could (should) do is have your own one.
- malechite, on 12/04/2008, -0/+9i'm surprised the completely playable version of ZORK as a 404 wasn't included with the list
http://thcnet.net/zork/index.php - craigofcapetown, on 12/04/2008, -1/+10That was Zardoz - with Sean Connery
- replaysMike, on 12/04/2008, -1/+9http://www.360replays.com/something - also good
- sroop, on 12/04/2008, -0/+8Since it's down already, this place has a decent collection;

http://www.expansionbroadcast.com/404 - Valyn, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6People dont know why they got rerouted to your homepage. Or even that there was an error. They end up thinking your page is retarded because it just send you all over where you did NOT want to go.
- Jektal, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6[morbo]HTTP RESPONSE CODES DON'T WORK THAT WAY![/morbo]
- SirTheGuy, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6no, you got 404'd!

- Ablerank, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5All I got was a 404 error page.
- Infowarsdotcom, on 12/04/2008, -2/+7Not Found
The requested URL http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/60-really-cool-and-cr ... was not found on this server.
Holy ***** that's creative. - 2012, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5did you push the "Try again" button???
I did.....
"Please do not press this button again." Oh!!! - lindgren07, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5sometimes i really hate irony.
- se1zure, on 12/05/2008, -0/+4Please don't quit your day job.
- Nathanage, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5hmm...does the site not loading at all due to miniscule digg effect count as a "cool and creative" 404 page???
- deeboe, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4Seems hongkiat.com could use a nice one.
- Jektal, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4Nothing, but it's kind of nice to give the user some feedback by letting them know that they're being redirected because the file wasn't found. Also, it's a chance to show a bit of light-hearted character and creativity.
- adrenalmedulla9, on 12/05/2008, -0/+4Does every Digg page have to have a bunch of Irony vs Coincidence Nazis?
So tired of this. - JesseDidThis, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5my favorite: http://stashbox.org/313610/108114121550-Page-Load- ...
- Smokeydabear, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5***** be down!
- spirko, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4So did anyone else stare at the static pattern from http://seecoy.com/404 looking for a hidden 3D image?
- GregFD3S, on 12/05/2008, -0/+4http://gregsabia.com/404
- GregFD3S, on 12/05/2008, -0/+4http://gregsabia.com/404
- staffell, on 12/05/2008, -1/+5That would be Irony.
- BlackJackJester, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4dugg for Sean Connery in "Zardoz" 404 page
- Slackdragon, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4Read his statement again. Nowhere, at least that I can see, does he equate the outage of the site with the number of diggs.
He did, accurately, ascribe it to the "digg effect" in which traffic spikes and the server overloads.
So the question isn't "When will you learn that diggs do not correspond to page visits", but rather, when will you learn the importance of reading comprehension? - ShiftyBizniss, on 12/04/2008, -0/+460 of anything is too long of a list.
- GoonPowerX, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!
