- HarryBeanbag, on 12/19/2007, -1/+88The whole web 2.0 thing has kind of jumped the shark these days. These logos were a nice parody of how bad it has gotten.
- pbaehr, on 12/19/2007, -4/+90Real graphic designers edit jpegs manually in notepad.
- J0415, on 12/19/2007, -6/+88While some are pretty good, most of the logos are just the original with some added gradients. Utterly uncreative.
Also why are some logos repeated and some appear to have been unchanged (see AT&T, Burger King)? - theXenon, on 12/19/2007, -3/+40Burried for sending me to a slow site with 60 images with reflections.
- MaxMWood, on 12/19/2007, -1/+30If the whole world went Web 2.0 - Id be worried why there was a Jurassic Park logo..
- Tomboys, on 12/19/2007, -0/+24what's a lickr?
- dshPls, on 12/19/2007, -2/+26Ms paint
- klethron, on 12/19/2007, -3/+24I like how some of these come from the former digg post here: http://digg.com/design/Corporate_World_Web_2_0_Log ...
More of the same crap making its way onto the front page. - Lokomis, on 12/19/2007, -0/+21Web 2.0: We gots gradients and *****.
- rudy23, on 12/19/2007, -0/+19Web 2.0 is the same as Daylight Saving time. No one can give a clear and compelling reason what it is and why it exists.
- inactive, on 12/19/2007, -3/+17some interesting logos....if you want little kids for your demographics.
- tooloney, on 12/19/2007, -2/+14why does web 2.0 have to make everything look just a little more gay?
- suxmonkey, on 12/19/2007, -2/+13The BK one was looking pretty normal to me too ... I think they just added some gloss. As for the rest, I dunno, some of them I found pretty damned funny and creative, others just got the ol' glossy reflection but then again that's all a lot of web 2.0 logos are anyway - text, gloss, reflect, presto!
- winnch, on 12/19/2007, -6/+15As the owner of a design company, I say only this: Oof. These are terrible logos. Glad the world isn't going web 2.0.
- Takuro, on 12/19/2007, -2/+10The server died too quickly for duggmirror or even coralcache to catch.
Oh well...
(O.T.: Why do Digg comments randomly triple space paragraphs?) - JasonCox, on 12/19/2007, -3/+11Buried because those have been posted on Digg before and because Web 2.0 died last week, didn't you get the memo? I sent it right after I sent the memo about you not using the new TPS Report cover sheets on your memo.
- mikehill33, on 12/19/2007, -1/+8 < {shiny} > tag < {/shiny}>
- darkmagus, on 12/19/2007, -1/+7Isn't that the point.
- Madpony, on 12/19/2007, -1/+7Does "Web 2.0" have a consistent definition yet? It seems like it's becoming a catch-all adjective to me. Can my pants be Web 2.0?
- THE4IRON, on 12/19/2007, -5/+11Anybody know which graphic design program these were created in?
Seriously? - Chompy, on 12/19/2007, -0/+5The final monster in a really bad movie.
- WebWorker, on 12/19/2007, -1/+6This one seems to have caught most of the images
http://web.archive.org/http://enthree.com/files/ra ... - pilot3033, on 12/19/2007, -0/+5I figured that was the joke. Looks pretty web 2.0
- animusart, on 12/19/2007, -0/+5Lame. I hate how people think Web2.0 means "visual". It doesn't. Web2.0 is a concept. It's the concept of better human interaction, usability, and functionality. Just because someone has a fat, glossy, reflecting logo doesn't make them Web2.0, it makes them trendy and cliche...and quite frankly, boring. Web2.0 isn't about the graphics, the large text, the reflections... it's about incorporating peoples' actions into the site. It's about true interactivity.
- WebWorker, on 12/19/2007, -2/+7Google does not cache the images
- flarn2006, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4I don't see any change. What is it?
- inactive, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4give me a vomit bag
- MarrowMan, on 12/19/2007, -4/+8Wow what a post full of useless *****.
- Mirk83, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4Yeah I work for At&t(trust me I wish I didn't) and definitely the exact same logo we have already. No change at all. GG.
- falstaff, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4Yes it is. Most of these have been floating around for well over a year now as a joke that adding pastel colors or gradients or a "beta" tag is the only thing that separates new tech from old. And the AT&T one is the real logo, which is supposed to be the joke within the joke.
- aduzik, on 12/20/2007, -0/+3I think including the unmodified AT&T logo was part of the joke.
- inactive, on 12/19/2007, -2/+5What would happen if the world went Web 2.0?
The world would be about 300 times more gay and thus unbearable to live in. - WebWorker, on 12/19/2007, -2/+5Yeah.. looks like they just changed the shades a bit to make it brighter in 2.0 style
- chilekillr, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3I know, it's hard to use this site after a year and a half. There is nothing new anymore.
- dshPls, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3Any 14 year old can "reinvent the web" with the Web 2.0 style, it's so lame. But next year someone else will create something cool, it will be imitated to death and web 2.0 will be a distant memory.
- echolalia, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3I noticed that as well. And completely missing the original thread. I feel bad for the creators of these.
- Jargonaut06, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3LOL @ Quakr 2.Oats
- liljay2k, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3alcohol???
yes, please add "lickrs" to the urban dictionary. - ayeroxor, on 12/19/2007, -3/+6get back in the doublewide, cletus. The south already "rose again" - it's called the blue collar comedy tour.
- WebWorker, on 12/19/2007, -1/+4Hehe I dugg thru that link you provided and also found this from even further back:
http://digg.com/design/Corporate_World_Web_2_0_Log ...
Which led me to this :
http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/yay2dot0logoparo ... - Munkey106, on 12/19/2007, -6/+9"Burger King" looks the same
- aldableep3, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2he means they're similar to the Flickr logo..
- Fubeman, on 12/20/2007, -0/+2Thank You!!! Finally someone grasping WTF Web 2.0 actually means. It doesn't mean anything graphical at all.
"Hey, your new car looks so . . . I don't know . . . Web 2.0"
Lame article. Lame title. Lame analogy. - RyanSell, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3I have noticed more and more stories are like that. Its so lame! Submitters think they are cool when dup stories hit the front page. User that are new to digg keep digging them! LAME!
- wkeown, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Ha that's hilarious. Everyone out there is using reflections and subtle gradients for their logos and site design. It's about time someone made fun of it. At least that's how I'm looking at it...probably wasn't meant for that...
- inactive, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3Wow, this story is sooo 2.0...
- ayeroxor, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3COMMENT ABUSE:
Mirror: http://enthree.com.nyud.net:8090/files/random/web2 ... - patrickloggins, on 12/20/2007, -0/+2Hahahah.. I made that Google mockup like 2 years ago and I keep seeing it pop up on digg. Great!
- GliTCH82, on 12/20/2007, -0/+2If you consider sharing a mirror link with us to be abusing the comment system, you're not Digging enough. Don't be so modest, damnit.
- widgetmaker, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Sounds fine to me.
