Daarrr... If you click on the big, empty box where the sample image is supposed to be, it takes you to the font on another site, which actually has PC and Mac OS X downloads for the fonts:

http://www.dafont.com/dirty-ames.font
http://www.dafont.com/sidewalk.font

- Tollboi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11here is a group of my favorite deconstructed fonts
http://www.misprintedtype.com/v3/fonts.php - Shuk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I don't find anything quite excellent about the Times New Roman font that is displayed as "Service Temporarily Unavailable".
- dangerding, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8for the record: http://www.dafont.com
one of the most useful sites on the interweb - GaffleSnipe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Go back to DeviantArt? We never started there. Now quit digging, finish your homework for school tomorrow, and leave the design comments to the pros.
- jchrome, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Always a fan of distressed fonts (ps: the term "grunge" was a fadish Media term applied to a music scene originating in Seattle, WA in the mid-90's that was only adopted by late-comers and posers and which died years ago and therefor should not be applied -in good taste- to typography, but I digress...) and was pleased to see an OTF file in there too (Neoprint). Good to note that these are free for personal use only.
- Four4TeenPaste, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7No Base 02? Fail.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+737 diggs does not equal 37 hits.
When something hits the front page it gets tons of traffic, regardless of how many times it's dugg. Can't really assume based on that. - andy78, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@Four4TeenPaste
Base 02 is one of those fonts that, like most of the ones on the list, have been done to death. You can't go to an emo band website without seeing atleast 2 of the fonts mentioned in this site, let alone base 02!!!
ahhh, good old nerdy designer talk. I love the internet... - TheKingInYellow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4anthonyk28 is absolutely correct about the repitition of characters. that is why i suggest this method.
stop being lazy and make your own. grunge fonts are great and all but there is nothing more satisfying than having every single one of your characters appear different. it's easy as pie, too. type your text with a simple clean font, say impact or verdana then apply a grungy texture as a mask. tweak certain characters sizes, kerning and leading and you're good to go. it's really not that difficult and it looks a whole lot better than the tons of crappy grunge fonts out there. - arcooke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Grunge fonts are becoming too trendy.. as is this whole grunge art thing that just about every "designer" features on their portfolios.
They might be nice fonts, but I'm getting tired of that look. - anthonyk28, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Meh - not horrible. But seriously, using fonts like these is liking buying "fancy" paper napkins for your party.
If you can't be bothered to use real cloth napkins, don't try to fool me into thinking you're classy by using coloured paper instead; don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.
If you want to use a dirty grunge font, then just design the effect yourself; don't Photoshop a potrait photograph and tell me you designed the face yourself.
Besides, try typing anything with more than three S's in it with SIDEWALK and it starts to look really stupid; the entire point of this type of font is that each occurence of each letter will appear different from the rest. If every occurence of S looks exactly like every other S, then you've defeated the purpose.
"I want to look like I'm artsy without the bother of being skilled". - laterallateral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Obviously you digress. Seriously now, was that not the singular POINT of your post?
- arcooke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It didn't catch the most important part -- the images.
- freedompower, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I went to school with Gyom and he always made awesome works. I'm jaleous :P
- GaffleSnipe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Too bad I don't work for Comedy Central, maybe I could actually put these into action. . . I wish my clients let me use grunge more often.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Very nice, I am quite a fan of the grunge fonts.
- confusednazgul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I read it as "Grunge Free" fonts at first for some reason. Now I'm sad.
- dreadstar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1SkratchPunk is also great, it's a more legible grunge font.
- thatsmyaibo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's still a ratio my friend. If it has 37 diggs then the site had x amount of hits. If it has 444 diggs it has x to the power of 12 hits.
- GaffleSnipe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree.
And it's one of the easiest to use, Awesome font site. The best as far as I can tell. - bizsumpark182, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Those are pretty awesome! Good find.
- doczein, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1grunge? as in the seattle-borne, death-to-glam, being-a-teenager-sucks music movement?

Pretzel Font
http://www.pretzelfont.com/?gclid=CJ6ApJ2eg4sCFRyOgQodx3P3Fw - jchrome, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I can't really relate as I'm just not seeing that a lot these days (certainly not to the degree that some of the "web 2.0" trend stuff that has gotten so played out and stale as of late). True, "organic vector (flat)" style stuff is very trendy at the moment, but from my observations, that doesn't necessarily tend to be of a distressed or "grunge" style. It definitely IS played out though in certain genres/markets, such as skate/surf rags, gaming sites, etc. Hmmm. maybe I just proved you right after all...lol.
- bat-21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1WHAT? No Singothic?
