The last one isn't motion blur/long exposure at all though, it's simply a shallow depth of field - gobears1001, on 08/25/2008, -0/+20most of the pictures i take on my iPhone are that blurry. ugh
- crazzy88ss, on 08/25/2008, -2/+12http://flickr.com/photos/44949743@N00/949261672/ - not motion blur... photoshop...
Otherwise a cool list. - spacerobot, on 08/25/2008, -0/+10Wow, fantastic shots. I wish I had the skills to get some good pictures like that. I've only had one blurry that came out satisfactory. http://flickr.com/photos/spacerobot/2571458150/

- Vich, on 08/25/2008, -1/+8Isn't that how you accomplish motion blur?
- zxbrycexz, on 08/25/2008, -1/+6It's pictures like these that make me want to be a photographer
- bitterscream, on 08/25/2008, -2/+7Hmmm, some of those we would call motion blur, while others time-lapse. Nice photos though.
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4A motion blur of barbed wire would look kind of funny I'd say.
- brycelb, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3That's exactly how. A long enough exposure for the subject to move.
- p1eiades, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3The dog's the best.
- mantzdapantz, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3it is possible to "reply" to people..
- AzzidReign, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3These pictures go great with my mushrooms.
- spacerobot, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2and cool shot :)
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2link down :(
- jamble, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2These pictures really aren't very inspiring. I do enjoying Smashing mag but this was a weak entry.
- ryanmct, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2a couple of these aren't motion blur, they're long exposure pictures
- ajames01, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2I feel dizzy
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Dugg for the cute dog with his head out the window.
- brycelb, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Like anything else, it's just experience.
- ide3308, on 08/25/2008, -1/+3It's pictures like these that make me _proud_ to be a photographer!
- ide3308, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2honestly, not necessarily, if you are moving fast enough. but really, i dont think that moving cars would qualify as what i would call motion blur. there is a fine line that each person can draw on their own.
- Cargo8, on 08/25/2008, -1/+3aaaaaaammmmmmmmaaaaaaaaazzzzzzziiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg
- agorstan, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1actually - time-lapse photography is a video technique employed by taking photographs at regular (usually longer than a fraction of a second) intervals to create a movie that shows the effect of a slowly moving or changing object over time. anything that is blurred by motion by a slow shutter speed is always called motion blur.
- Eisim, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1meeeh..
- algaeturd, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1FYI: Blurring and Depth of Field are two separate approaches. The author mixed them all together, strangely.
- thzae, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1Ahh good ol' digg, of course the thumbnail photo had to be the only one of an attractive girl.
- puskunk, on 08/25/2008, -1/+2most of those I wouldn't call motion blur, merely long exposure. I do quite a bit of both, motion blur to me implies a fast moving object and either panning with it:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2048/2466131852_2d1 ...
or letting it blur past, as the link did. One of those pictures on the linked page is zoom blur, something different again. - inigomntoya, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1"Connection has timed out"
Pfft - these are all over the place... - JonnyCasino, on 09/24/2008, -0/+1Awesome collection!
- dylio, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1I want to know how they keep the exposure at the right spot. I can never manage to get a good mixture of colors that I want when doing motion blur.
- dragonjambala, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1Nice one every one love it.
- wontstoptalking, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1I don't know what the guy above me (p1eiades, at least he was above me at the moment of this comment) is thinking, but I think the rocket lifting off (the one that looks like lightning) is AWESOME.
- stewdiouseagle, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1trippy
- soopafly, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1Photo of guy on dirt bike was lame. Looks like a 12 year old kid went nuts with it in Photoshop.
- valentino600, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1oh boy, I just had a nightmare that i was on dial up and waiting for that page to download.
- phibit, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1blur fox news?
- woofers07, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1photoshop motion blur always leaves a bit of a halo around the deselected object though.
- ngmcs8203, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1Looks like it doesn't it? I thought that as well, but it isn't at all.

- M724, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1I like the "water hitting the rock" picture. Also that "green beam into the water" picture.
- TheKingInYellow, on 08/25/2008, -0/+1motion blur is an animation term. since these are photos the proper term should be long exposure.
