---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.forgetfoo.com/ - (CSS, Blog Design). So many neat features. This is very nice blog design.
http://www.pixelgasoline.com/ - (Flash). Montreal design firm, complete with doo-wop playing in the background.
http://www.bubblewrap.com.au/ - (Flash, Illustration). The Aussies have something good going for them here.
http://www.electricheat.org/ - (Print and Graphic Design). Skills to pay the bills, indeed. When I'm famous, this is the guy I'm calling about doing my CD cover art.
http://www.subdued.net/ - (CSS design). Great attention to detail. The main site graphic sells me with how brilliant it is.
http://www.newezra.com/ - (Flash). Sopretty. The shifting colours and animations in the banner sell me on it.
http://www.oralfix.com/home/ - (Flash, Interactive). I suddenly have a ridiculous craving for mints. These mints. Is it the solid interactive design that sells me, or the fact that one of the mints is called Sugar Free Tibet? The world may never know.
http://www.misipile.com/ - (CSS, Logo Design). That's a lot of logos. Hot damn.
http://www.letinmotion.com/ - (Flash, Interactive). Wow, this is hott. Extensive attention is paid to detail. I love the mouseovers.

http://workrocks.com/ - (Flash). Great interface, great background music, great user experience.
http://www.sozu.co.uk/ - (CSS). I'm not going to lie, the logo and menu alone would've sold me on this beauty. Great user interface.
http://www.stevennet.cc/v1/ - (Flash). Really clean and crisp looking. Minimalistic. Kudos.
http://www.sndk.no/ - (Flash). The mouseovers... OH GOOD LORD THE MOUSEOVERS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL
http://www.silasandmaria.com/silas3/ - (Flash). Great interface! Very original, very inspiring.

http://www.vaduradesign.com/petr-vadura-design-eng/petr-vadura-design.html">Petr Vadura Design (Flash, Interface). Took me a few minutes to figure out the interface and menu system, but when I did, boy did I have myself a time.
http://www.lovebirdagency.com/ - (Flash). I feel like the site is made just for me. Tres chic.
http://www.ourvice.com/ - (Flash). I'm just wowed all around by this site. Very clean, very nice use of minimalistic menu systems.
http://www.snook.ca/jonathan/ - (CSS, Blog Design). I'm blown away by the extreme attention to detail here. The colour scheme is also very appealing. Makes me proud to be Canadian.
http://www.perfectfools.com/ - (Flash). Great layout! Multiple layers in flash that obstruct my view juussssst enough.
http://www.piotrowskimichal.com/ - (Flash). I've always had a soft spot for cityscapes.
http://www.nemstudio.com/ - (Flash). Soshiney. Soglossy.

http://www.calibrepics.com/v2005/ - for hours on end.
http://www.paregos.com/ - (Flash). Sorelaxing.
http://www.exploding-boy.com/ - (CSS, Blog Design). Sominimalistic. Sharp and sweet. One columned blogging at it's best.
http://www.subsociety.se/ - (Flash). I'm not sold on the interface yet, but the transitions make this stick out in my mind.
http://www.mocafusion.com/ - (Flash). I don't know what to say. I'm just in awe. Perhaps the overall sexiest site I've ever come across.
http://www.enjoygreenergrass.com/main_site/main.html - (Flash). Great transitions, great background music, great mouseovers. High quality stuff. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Websites with background music that you can't turn off are SO annoying.
- dave_colorado, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10hell yeah. that 404 is hot...i'd totally do it. plus, i just got that new male contraceptive gel so i have no worries about litte 404's running around.
- Empyrean, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Really? That hasnt seemed to stop the porn industry.
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6That's the sexiest 404 page I've ever seen :-)
- paroxsitic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7This website is already getting very slow. I doubt it will last.
- alevel27mage, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Already thought of... Multiple times. Who knows why they don't implement it.
- Kamino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5and last but not least
http://www.pixelica.it - (Flash). Great interface design, background music, and transitions make me ignore the fact that I don't know what they're saying in Italian.
http://www.fluid.nl - (Flash). Holy *****, there's a lot of stuff to click on here. Very original setup.
(Pardon the massive amounts of links, I was unable to edit the comment.. the script totally messed up.) - esangaline, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Not diggworthy in my opinion. Huge flash web pages are not sexy. They're bloaty.
This better just be an April fool's joke. - newezra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Whoo Hoo! My site (www.newezra.com) made it on the list and I haven't managed to update it in almost 2 years.
- revenger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5unfortunately most of them are flash sites. i don't see anything sexy about flash sites!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5No digg. Primarily Flash-based sites. I'm a much bigger fan of accessibility and usability. Flash sites are far from usable. Many of the sites listed are nothing more than sandboxes with people pompously displaying a number of visual ideas they've come up with (NEVER forget to include the all important "name dropping" client list), but nothing of any real substance. These sites are to the web what Daikatana was to games; A whole lot of time spent developing nothing.
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4well here it is.. still sluggish
http://philrenaud.com.nyud.net:8080/57
I want to see dome sexy web design! - neocitron, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6well the word sexy doesn't have to have a sex connotation... sexy just means it looks nice... and when you tell a girl she look sexy it doesn't mean she would look getting screwed...
- oneMadRssn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6heres an idea for a future feature of digg:
automatically include a coral cache or google cache if available of every submitted website. - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I argue the opposite, once you HAVE had sex and aren't a teenager you understand how many things can be sexy and you understand why this phrase makes total sense:
"make love to the camera"
sex is everywhere, it's not just phallic or sexually stimulating. Musicians on stage will affirm this. "better than sex" - kendawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Article date: October 26, 2005: 10:01 PM
It sure did take some time to get noticed - philrenaud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it's true, I do :)
Basic timeline of the 35 sexiest list:
Oct 28, 2005: #1 on Digg.com frontpage, #1 on del.icio.us, #1 on Spurl, a bunch of other stuff. 40GB bandwidth gone used in something crazy like 4 hours. People forget that the site is hosted on a makeshift server (which currently doesn't even have a case, and is sitting on a shelf) at a friend's place. Still, awesome. Kevin Rose diggs it. I feel lightheaded.
Dec. 1st, 2005: 25 of the 35 sexiest have contacted me with thanks. I am happy. I get dugg a few more times for other articles, and am asked to participate in other blogs (most notably: http://aspiramedia.com/fadtastic , from where my article on fonts was dugg to the frontpage a couple weeks ago)
March 31st, 2006: Cameron Olthuis' design resources goes to digg's frontpage and high up on del.icio.us, mentions the 35-sexiest list early on.
April 1st, 2006: the 35-sexiest list is dugg twice more. I am happy at the exposure, but feel bad for the server sitting in pieces on the friend's shelf. May have to buy another stick of ram for him so I'm not tarred and feathered.
All in all, I'm happy to get any kind of feedback, so thanks, Digg! You guys rock.
Being that I originally made the list in light of the CSS Reboot last fall, as inspiration for the rebooters, and there's another one in a month from today, you can expect the next installment very shortly :)
Take care! Thanks for digging. - Syni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I agree with Snook up there, thanks again Phil. :)
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2who needs the site now :)
thanks - MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -0/+2Some good designs in there and some wtf this blows, why's it in the list designs. Definately not the 35 sexiest designs... not even in october of 05. www.favouritewebsiteawards.com has better stuff on any given day.
Also, please... please.. shut up about flash. It is fantastic when used properly and for the right reasons. IMO 99% of sites shout NOT be flash, but that 1% should be and are kickass. - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2that site is incredible, I'm just bewildered they don't have more work they've done on display. I mean, a spinning X as one of their 3 samples? That's just bizarre.
- majorbabu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2most impressed by http://www.pixelgasoline.com/ so far.
detailed setting. its what you'd expect a gas station to look like in the middle of a sleepy town at night.
i like. - stubby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Why did you repost this when the filter had to tell you it had been submitted.
- cabletool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1way to crash the most sites in the least amount of time...
- gd007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like I need to put them in my http://www.funnydomainnames.com.
Enjoy,

http://digg.com/design/Truly-_the_35_sexiest_website_designs. - beatdigga, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2dugg to death
- amhed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, you can check out Google's Cache
http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:dqFJkWLv77YJ:philrenaud.com/57+&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&client=firefox-a - funkpucker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1haha connecting stories together gotta love it
- robusteza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1if they were THAT sexy, you probably wouldn't have forgotten them.
that said, y'all nitpickers are going to have to get used to this terminology. "Sexy" is defined in the dictionary as "Slang: highly appealing or attractive".
Go ahead, admit you want to lick those buttons. It's okay. - kihaji, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Too all future, and current web designers. Please do not follow any design on this list. I, and many others, purchased monitors larger than 3 inches wide, so for the love of all that is holy, USE IT.
I am seriously tired of these 4 word width blog "Awesome" designs with 90% of my screen being background image, which sadly includes this site. - xiongchiamiov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey dude, a friend of mine once described a line (of people - it was marching band) as sexy. I see nothing wrong with that.
- Glenn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I didn't make that list by the way ^
- zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Looks like it's been killed by Digg. Coincidentally, does HTTP: 405 FORBIDDEN count? I mean, that's DAMN SEXY. ;p
- jdonner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0These are just web sites for Pete's sake!
And then calling them sexy... some people really need to get a life... - lochness, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I have 1.5Mbps ADSL but those site make me feel like I'm back in the dial-up days.
Watching and waiting for the "load counters" to load load load the pages with every click....
Nice to look at though. But I pity-the-fool who tries to view them with an ACTUAL dial-up connection :-D - zone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I thank the poster for the flash "warnings" :P those sites feel like PDFs for me..
- mjaleo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If I remember right, the guy who made this list posts on digg.
Shameless promotion. - rishimaharaj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Thanks!
- jonathansnook, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My thanks to Phil Renaud for yet another secondary digg effect. ;)
Mine would be one of the few non-flash sites on the list. - gaoshan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0koshak, you say these designs aren't sexy "Becuase htey are not". I gotta disagree. I tink htey ar teh vwry secy wehbsytes (and I've had lots of sex... just ask your mom).
- LaurenceCC, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think the best idea would be to convert the URL to be coralized as soon as the story hits the front page.
- kden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Had some sites I really digged, and some I didn't like to much. Personally, I like there are some better designs out there that could have been on that list.
- MrDan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1blurgh.
Flash should be banned from the internet.
*spits in bucket* - Rickler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Any website that uses flash is ugly in my opinion...
/me huggles flash block firefox plugin - mycatsboots, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Anyone have cache?
- zimm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1sexy designs and no tittys anywhere....
i call shenanigans! - veracon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Wasn't digg for tech NEWS? October '05 it says, and this has even been on the frontpage before.
Way to go. - muffins, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2These "top " articles need to stop. Sure they may be cool, but alot of this really isn't tech news and its just some garbage I have to sort through to find the good news. These articles are nothing but someones opinion.
