ROFLMAO TSE-TUNG - RCcola159, on 10/12/2007, -2/+150But he did it on purpose...
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -3/+95Error 999? what a loser... i could've scored at least double that.
- KingMoses, on 10/12/2007, -22/+96"ROFLMAO TSE-TUNG"
Brilliantly hilarious. - rgov, on 10/12/2007, -3/+68masterchi: The test is $41.50, and the College Board offers fee waivers to those who cannot afford to take it
... although I find self-perpetuating ignorance to be fascinating. - ggavinmoss, on 10/12/2007, -3/+52"sure 400 seems low . . . but it rounds up to like 540 canadian."
haha - orbanj, on 10/12/2007, -4/+47reading this narrative was about as exciting as taking the exam itself
- tech42er, on 10/12/2007, -5/+43As for Mao, Mao Zedong is the Romanization of his name is pinyin, the pinyin system used now, all over the world. While it is certainly the most common, pinyin is not the only system of Romanization. The last popular one was Wade-Giles. In Wade-Giles, Mao's nameis Mao Tse-Tung. This is also why Peking (Wade-Giles) became Beijing (pinyin). So, it's either ROFLMAO ZEDONG (pinyin) or ROFLMAO TSE-TUNG (Wade-Giles).
- frederoil, on 10/12/2007, -4/+42I'm getting an Error 999, which I believe is the code for NO ONE CARES.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34He got a 999?
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -3/+33From the article:This article was discussed on Slashdot on 2003 May 10th. Over a period of exactly 24 hours, 84,692 people read this article
- doublsh0t, on 10/12/2007, -4/+34HAHAHAHA HE SURE SHOWED THEM!
- Dantetheinferno, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27I love it when they use google to mirror a downed yahoo link...
- Blarbo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21google cache?
http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.colinfahey.com%2Foldpages%2F2003apr5_sat%2Foriginal_2003apr5_sat.htm&ie=UTF-8 - skankyBacon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Wow nifty, and I only had to sift through a mountain of data explaining every minute detail about tests, pencils, postmarks, etc. to find the information in question.
- Yang1205, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20wow i now know EVERYTHING about the SAT... which i already took
- vsujohn2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19So now you work at McDonald's because you thought it would be funny to make your school administrators look bad?
- dtfinch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18"Sorry, Unable to process request at this time -- error 999. ... You may want to scan your system for spyware and viruses..."
Yahoo has some of the dumbest developers on the face of the earth. - deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21Reminds me of high school. I used to tank the standardized tests on purpose because I hated the school administration and wanted to make them look bad.
- shadekeiko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13It's a bit outdated in terms of the actual SAT. Since 2003 not only have they gotten rid of analogies totally, but they've added a whole new writing section. I think it'd be interesting to see him take it again with the newer SAT.
- Phantom784, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Apparently, the story was moved on the guy's website
http://colinfahey.com/oldpages/2003apr5_sat/original_2003apr5_sat.htm - original story
http://colinfahey.com/sat/sat.html - and he did it again in 2005 - VillaStraylight, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Dear Lord. He looks exactly like Steve Buscemi.
- Lennalf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Unfortunately this article is pretty useless without its non-captioned pictures. I read through the majority of the article unable to know what silly or ridiculous answers he may have used in the forms, but persisted. At the end of the article, I was crushed to find out that the scores were not mentioned in the text!
To the next guy: Don't waste your time on this article unless you can get a version with working pictures. - DiggzDE, on 10/12/2007, -7/+18Oh no! 999!! Its the sign of the upside-down internet devil. Run Away Christians!!! RUN Away!
- jordanwlee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Too bad I didn't hang out at Slashdot, I could have read this 3 years ago.
Thanks Digg. - zomgflamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9thats what I said on my SAT tests
- jmpeagle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9it's actually really really hard to get all the questions wrong
- deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Nope -- I'm doing quite well but thanks for asking.
- marnaq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Burger King!
- Sunsetter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8It's like, I want to read all of that, but it's just to goddamn long. So ***** that.
- imdeanlabouty, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Not working for anyone else?
- Brak710101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I actually know a teacher who does something like this.
if you can get everything wrong on the test, you get a 100%. But if you get just one right, you get the normal score.
After all, it's just as hard, and more risky. :P - dani8559, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I can think of dozens of PhDs I've come across who couldn't be bothered learning HTML.
- AJRiddle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Didn't cache it.
- dani8559, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yahoo 999 error: http://www.murraymoffatt.com/software-problem-0011.html
it's just a generic "no more info" error. - ccheath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5you gotta use the waaaaayback machine to view it with the pictures
http://web.archive.org/web/20050302100559/www.colinfahey.com/2003apr5_sat/2003apr5_sat.htm
PS: he got a 200+200=400 1st percentile - DiggzDE, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10Omg, no ***** way. I had no clue. Thanks for telling me this.
- Kazbaeden, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I like the part about cheating, and the length people go through to avoid just sitting down and studying. The SAT is not a hard test, and if you think it is you're going to have a REALLY hard time at the pretentious school you're trying to get into with a perfect score.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I got a 1900 then stopped...who cares about this ***** test? Unless you plan on going to an Ivy League your score is fine, relax and go to some parties and forget about the SATs!
- ElGuano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I was prepared for a total schmuck, "Oh look at me, I'm so cool, I got a zero on the SAT." But this was actually a great read, with a lot of data and truly thoughtful analysis on the exam. Wish I could see the images that weren't cached...
- asforme, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Apparently all of my Ubuntu viruses and spywares are keeping me from viewing this site. Just wait till Microsoft buys Yahoo: "999 Error, come back when you are using internet explorer."
- phlogiston99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"Dude uses Yahoo for hosting, Yahoo limits bandwidth use to 7 page hits per day, hilarity ensues"
Digg tends to overwhelms $6.99/year hosting accounts. They call it the Digg effect, no *****. - SebHughes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ha that was a very fun read, he even failed at failing ROFL, he got 2 right.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5 When I took the SAT you got 400 gimme points and total of 1600 and now you get 800 gimme points and it totals to 2400. The reason this was done is because black and hispanic test scores lagged far behind so in an effort to close the gap they changed the way it scores so it all looks better on paper.
- AwwJeah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3So what was the experiment, exactly? How to most effectively waste your time and your money?
- vsujohn2, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7http://tinyurl.com/2mag9y
Try this - catbeller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If he's so intelligent, WHY is he using Internet Explorer?
- wvannus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ask France.
- shortarabguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm sorry, I didn't see the actual scores he got... would someone care to relay his actual scores?
- crossmr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Chugger, no they don't have SATs here. Canadians only have to take them if they're applying to an American University.
