- WiseWeasel, on 10/10/2007, -5/+31Add 'Adblock Plus' to the list, so web designers can see how their visitors will be displaying their page... : P
- chrisbarr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+25...or you could just install Firebug and Web Developer Toolbar which does all of that.
- monkeyBox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8firebug is all I need. It can do what most other add-ons can, but all in one tool. I also like greasemonkey
- paradyme, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Most of these 'extensions' are already in the web development extension!
- silence7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Nice, some of these I use daily, others I'd never heard of.
- pezholio, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Exactly! Why clog up Firefox with a million and one extensions when the Web Developer Toolbar does most of it?
- MarvelingOne, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I'm slightly surprised there was no ySlow shown, its has some useful information, well kinda....
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Firebug takes care of most of these issues.. one of the most useful tools I use with Firefox. If it wasnt for firebug, I'd stop using Firefox (it eats a lot of memory!)
- Meep3D, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The HTML Tidy validator plugin is one of the most useful things ever if you care about standards compliance! http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/ from the article. Wish I knew it existed ages ago.
- silence7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4What web developer doesn't have his own website?
My Website: [none entered] - kefs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3APenguin.. i used to be the same way.. but with ff.. extensions make life so much easier.. the ability to edit css/html in real-time alone makes this worth it. just try out the wed developer toolbar and you'll change your mind. :)
- allholy1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I second HTML Tidy. It wasn't included in the list but is extremely helpful.
- Tippis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yup.
With the exception of IE Tab, and possibly Load Time Analyzer, the whole "CSS" and "Debugging and Analysis" and maybe half othe "Others" category, could be replaced by those two plugins.
Silly list :/ - peddada, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3its not a compeition ..... its about getting the job done
- EXreaction, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Cool, 2 new goodies (screengrab and measureit) to add to my list. :D
- swean, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2open source!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2you must be so proud.
- starkraving, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2+1 for HTML Tidy... It makes my day when I see that little green checkbox smiling back at me...
- dexterholland, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2here is also a good list with reviews: http://blog.sherifmansour.com/?p=34
- koretico, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2dude, where does it deal with development?
- allholy1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The YSlow addon for firebug is also pretty useful. http://developer.yahoo.com/yslow/.
From the website:
YSlow analyzes web pages and tells you why they're slow based on the rules for high performance web sites. YSlow is a Firefox add-on integrated with the popular Firebug web development tool. YSlow gives you:
* Performance report card
* HTTP/HTML summary
* List of components in the page
* Tools including JSLint - allholy1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That's with the yslow addon from yahoo right?
- mconstan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You missed the best feature of the Screen Grab utility, the ability to grab an entire page. Try stitching together a long page with the prt scr method and you'll jump out a window.
- richardiscool, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I doubt you're a good web developer.
A good web developer wouldn't waste time like that, because a good web developer doesn't have time to waste. - kingkool68, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I just made a tool that let's you dynamically spit out dummy images at whatever size you need. Handy when you need to find an image for prototyping sites -> http://dummyimage.com
- merreborn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I think the most recent version of firebug makes Load Time Analyzer obsolete as well.

- thediggerdude2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Just bite the bullet and hire a pro website developer. http://www.beacontechnologies.com
- Venti, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Total Validator is another good one. It's the only extension I know that will check spelling on your page. Good to use at a QA stage.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2318. The only issue is it done through server side validation. :( - matt0r, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4i would like to thank this site for making realize the web developer toolbar allows you to edit css and view the changes in realtime
i can't believe how long i've been using this thing and didn't think to try that - jvazquez1, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1Firebug has to be (by far) one of the most helpful tools in Firefox's arsenal. We use it all the time in my company when using Firefox. Check us out: http://www.MagidComputers.com Everything from SEO and Web Design to Development.
