- GetItBuilt, on 09/09/2008, -6/+41This is something that any graphic designer will find useful. Some very awesome effects.
Thanks for the Digg! - inactive, on 09/10/2008, -5/+34this is so amazing that a little rainbow formed over the top of my monitor when I clicked the link and Handel's Messiah started playing through my speakers, after which Zooey Deschanel knocked on my door and - having been turned into a raging nymphomaniac by the awesomeness of these tutorials - begged me to make love to her over and over on a beach in the south of France as waves of chocolate lap at our feet and children sing gumdrop songs of eternal bliss.
- inactive, on 09/09/2008, -4/+17Everyone seems to use that starburst effect in those tutorials
- JonnyCasino, on 09/09/2008, -1/+14Yeah because it's very easy to do, and then since all the kewl kids are doing it, everyone starts doing it too.
- cvraider7, on 09/10/2008, -1/+14PSDTuts did something similar today, except they found 20 more.
http://psdtuts.com/tutorials-effects/50-creative-p ... - daxz, on 09/10/2008, -2/+1330 Beautiful Photoshop Text Effect Tutorials for GIMP?
no. - pshultz, on 09/10/2008, -0/+11Yes, they do look nice. But... for the love of god, people need to stop using photoshop for logos / type / hard edged graphics. If instead of reading through these tutorials, one just opened illustrator and poked around for a bit, they would realize why photoshop is such a poor choice for creating these kinds of looks.
- stutimandal, on 09/10/2008, -1/+12I use Inkscape/Illustrator to make my text logos now. It is easier to make a scalable PDF out of them. It also forces me to keep my logo simpler.
That said, the text effects are exceptionally beautiful. - poidh, on 09/10/2008, -0/+10Dude, did you get that from an online translator?
- solid12345, on 09/10/2008, -0/+10As a graphic designer myself, I question how many "born designers" can also take out an xacto knife and do things by hand, that is a lost art in itself.
- inactive, on 09/10/2008, -1/+10Graphic designers were born with text effect skills. They don't need no stinking tutorials.
- crazybus24, on 09/10/2008, -0/+8*surprised comment about how this didn't turn into a massive generic/obligatory comments contained within asterisks thread*
- digitalpencil, on 09/10/2008, -0/+5whilst i'm an avid illustrator user, Photoshop is the industry standard for image-editing, used daily by almost every graphic designer..
oh, and vectortuts.com - politicalmonstr, on 09/09/2008, -4/+8Lovely stuff!
- PixelEater, on 09/10/2008, -0/+4Man, that's good news.
- Seann7656, on 09/10/2008, -2/+6Buried for just being a "brag post"
- GalacticRerun, on 09/10/2008, -2/+6Learning how to do things that are already done help to go in new directions.
- noncn4mst, on 04/15/2009, -0/+4Xacto hates me. I can show you my scar.
***** foam core!! - MarkOfTheDead, on 09/10/2008, -0/+3Or it gets left alone because you're confusing people with subtext AND WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!
- GREEDOnvrFIRED, on 09/10/2008, -1/+4Normally I am ready to curse these lists of BEAUTIFUL or AMAZING Photoshop© things. Yet here I am better at Photoshop© only 15 minutes after clicking the link. An ACTUAL great list for a change.
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+330 trick pony, surely?
- Vulphaestion, on 09/10/2008, -0/+3InDesign wasn't made for graphic design!?
- joshcxa, on 09/10/2008, -1/+4Yeah and why not lightwave, maya, after effects etc....probably because everyone knows photoshop and it's quite easy to make tuts for
- inactive, on 09/10/2008, -0/+3Glad to know I'm not the only one who's worked at a sign shop.
I was cutting up labels with a metal ruler and an xacto knife (I know...I'm ***** stupid) one day...sliced the side of my index finger right off. I still have a nasty scar. - mercimadam, on 09/10/2008, -2/+5New headline: 30 Photoshop Text Effect You've Seen 30000 Times Before
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+2To read the article?
- nyde, on 09/09/2008, -3/+5Dugg for the nice tutorials and the presentation format. I love PSDTuts and never heard of PS Learning before this.
- applelovesyou, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2Very nice text effects. Like the grass version "earth"
- RadiatedAnt, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2Oldie but goodie
- Cabose, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2Shopped
- NuclearDruid, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2Horrrible experiences working with Xacto knives myself. Ouch. Especially when working with vinyl, and when you go to peel off your work, a letter/symbol accidentally gets peeled off, then you have to work on straightening it out without any bubbles. Oh yeah, funnn funn funnn!
- trentRez9, on 09/10/2008, -0/+2The "fire" font is impressive
- OrangeSoda31, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1Screenshot it and see if it is still light blue when you look at the image.
- sbaysem, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1WOW!!! These are all really amazing and creative!!! I love it! m/
- inactive, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1Photoshop may be the single best computer application ever created. Great stuff.
- inactive, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1Bah. I'm so lost in some of these steps.
And why does my white appear as a light blue in CS3?? - novalux, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1Yeah and according to this site http://justcreativedesign.com/2008/09/09/top-7-mos ... it's one of the 7 most over-used graphic design elements.
- eadnams, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1tutorials aren't just for the end results -- they're for the technique.
- jmpa, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1Where are the .PSD files?
Next one who posts the same link WITH the .PSD files will have 5000 Diggs! ;) - arcanesmile, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1it scares me when children sing :(
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -1/+2No, because if you're using The GIMP you're probably also a hippy Linux user and everyone knows Linux is ugly.
(I wish there was some way of indicating sarcasm without having to add some sort of sarcasm tag so I can say things like that without getting dugg down by people who don't realise it was said tongue in cheek) - ResonantFish, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1#13 would be great, but they forget the primary element : SPELL THE WORDS RIGHT.
Photoshostar? - donna1234, on 12/02/2008, -0/+130 beautiful, high-quality Adobe Photoshop tutorials

- inactive, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1though, when properly executed it can be quite nice
- beerbarron, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1A lot of times I see these so called photoshop expert techniques and I smile politely and then laugh... this actually caught my eye, some good effects
- inactive, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1don't download ronnie .com
- iseth, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1Homer: OK, from here we star wipe to a glamor shot of Flanders paying his bills, then we star wipe to Flanders brushing his teeth. . .
Lisa: Dad, there are other wipes besides star wipes. . .
Homer: Why eat hamburger when you can have steak? -
