- annjay, on 11/03/2008, -0/+20This is the one of the best list about firefox extensions.
- NavySeal, on 11/03/2008, -0/+12web developer toolbar by far my favorite
- cplusplus, on 11/03/2008, -0/+11Yes some are nice but are all 27 "indispensable"? I think not. It would be nuts to install all 27!
- scy1192, on 11/03/2008, -0/+7install all 27 and see your Firefox slow to a crawl. Yay?
- redlantern64, on 11/03/2008, -0/+6If you have Firebug installed, several of those are redundant.
- Fluffycheese, on 11/03/2008, -0/+6The functionality of a few of those are already built into the almighty goodness that is the web developer extension!
Still, I'd consider it a decent list - picked up a couple of useful extensions I've never heard of before. - matthewjosephm, on 11/03/2008, -0/+5Only 5:
Firebug / Web Developer / Screengrab / MeasureIt / Colorzilla
done. - Charlotte_Web, on 11/03/2008, -0/+5Long live the site!
- mesarah, on 11/03/2008, -0/+5Wonderful collection
- yannickmartin, on 11/03/2008, -1/+5Is it me or is there "web design / developers" FireFox extensions toplists every 2 days?
- ironrex, on 11/03/2008, -0/+4lol, Digg home page gets an F for performance by YSlow.
- kierucom, on 11/03/2008, -0/+4So many of the extensions listed either duplicate effects that others on the list provide (like Webdeveloper, it does what some 6+ other scripts listed do, and more) or just have no legitimate purpose for being associated with design & development (noproxy does not aid in design & development)
- bstockwell, on 11/03/2008, -0/+3that and firebug -- basically required for any sort of ajax dev, plus useful for quick design tweak testing without having to reload or edit the actual file.
- noyurawk, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2What about SEO tools, they're also part of a webmaster's functions (if you do it all). Personally I'm partial to Foxy SEO Tool, although it is still in experimental stage: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/944 ...
- svivian, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2MeasureIt is kinda useless because you normally need to zoom in to measure pixel distances accurately. I've always found graphics programs to be the best for this. Same could be said for ColorZilla, too.
- P8ntBal1551, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2this will make a lovely addition to my collection
- ptFoe, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2Where is a list of extensions for IE? you Firefox extension monopolists.
- h4ppydotcom, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2Agreed - I'd also add Colorzilla to the 'essential mix'. I use them pretty much every day and curse loudldly wen I have to rely on MS's clunky internet developer toolbar. It's not a patch on Firebug.
Also, with those three, you don't need separate DOM, CSS, measuring and validating tools, since WebDeveloper has a loupe, ruler and validation shortcuts and Firebug has CSS browsing and editing. - streetread, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2over and over again..
- bballbackus, on 11/03/2008, -0/+1Wow seriously? What about SQL Inject me for penetration testing?
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/759 ... - speckyboy, on 11/03/2008, -1/+2Site is back online.
- jessehadden, on 11/04/2008, -0/+1Wow... I'd hate to imagine what my Firefox experience would be like if I ran 27 extensions!
I use 5 (after reading this list, that is). Web Developer is great, and encompasses the function of several of these extensions. Of course, I use the Google Toolbar. I also use Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer. I use Flashblock (because I only want to eliminate nuisances that will eat up my CPU cycle; I think Adblock goes too far with its lists, and does far more harm to web publishers than any good). And finally, I now use the Extended Statusbar. - srik79, on 11/09/2008, -0/+1Firebug is my favourite
- wheresmysocks, on 11/04/2008, -0/+1I hadn't heard of SQLite Manager before. It's quite well done.
http://code.google.com/p/sqlite-manager/ - f1codz, on 11/04/2008, -0/+1i concur
- tenchiws, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1You know what we need? Firebug for IE. Beyond just console messages.
- f1codz, on 11/04/2008, -0/+1no dont go for all the 27 .. it will greatly slow down the ff startup ..
Yes .. Firebug .. pretty gud sums up most of the major features from all the 26 other addons .. go for it .. - rino, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Holy crap if you install 27 plug-ins for Firefox you will need 16GB of ram just to run the stupid thing.
It's a web browser, NO! It's an IDE with huge memory leaks! - addiktion, on 11/04/2008, -0/+1same goes with firebug. I believe it comes with a measurement tool, browser resizing, etc.
- NickLindeman, on 11/03/2008, -2/+2I've really needed something like MeasureIt for a long time but never knew of anything like it till now.
- aspnetscripter, on 11/04/2008, -0/+0Use IE7 Pro add-in. Does the same thing as several Firefox extensions including Greasemonkey.
- joe1985, on 11/04/2008, -0/+0Because everyone needs at least 27 Firefox extensions.
- WeAreVenom, on 11/03/2008, -3/+1I don't know why, but I could read about firefox extentions all day.
- janshi, on 11/03/2008, -5/+2buried for being the 1940359th list of that kind without mentioning something new + handy.
- SaadGhouri, on 11/03/2008, -5/+2The site is dead!
