- Issius, on 10/05/2008, -2/+24Dugg for not being demanding and telling me I NEED these tools. =)
- SolYurick, on 10/04/2008, -2/+22www.colourlovers.com and www.stripegenerator.com are two others.
- Joudoki, on 10/05/2008, -0/+10If you're a web developer and you don't already know about firebug, then you should probably go back to frontpage express.
- RyIvan, on 10/05/2008, -0/+10Not bad but... mostly just a whole bunch of web app's doing what applications already installed on my / a web designers machine already do.
- logicbus, on 10/05/2008, -2/+11Why is Remember the Milk on a list of tools for designers?
- scy1192, on 10/05/2008, -0/+8All we really need is notepad.
- seandfeeney, on 10/05/2008, -1/+8meh... I was expecting useful apps like firebug, aptana, etc.
- sjaxso, on 10/05/2008, -0/+4Agreed. How pleasant - 'you may wish to know'.
Indeed I did too. - ha3er0, on 06/16/2009, -0/+4+1
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -0/+4The term "designer" is too loosely used nowadays. If you are a developer who can code a great functioning website but not actually literally design it, you are not a designer, you are a developer. As a designer who knows basic HTML or Flash scripting I don't go around calling myself a programmer.
- ers35, on 10/05/2008, -0/+4"Ha Ha!
You just endured the internet's
most annoying webpage!"
Sorry, I have NoScript enabled. Good try though. - noncn4mst, on 04/15/2009, -2/+6I think these tools are a little basic for designers. I guess they could be helpful to a novice.
I should offer an option to net2ftp. FireFTP for Firefox is all you will ever need. - inactive, on 10/05/2008, -0/+3notepad is weak, code it in dos with the edit command.
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -2/+5 wow a blog that i actually stayed in for more than 5 seconds. impressive :)
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -0/+3so this is for "designers" who don't have Photoshop or Dreamweaver - weak.
- 007isbond1, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2net2ftp is good for restricted environments such as work or school where port 21 [ftp port] is blocked.
webftp.co.uk is good 2 - WhoDoneIt, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2Hey, Curtis Trueb, go suck a dick!
- Nouman6, on 10/05/2008, -1/+3Remember the Milk is great on any list.
Though for colors I would say Adobe Kuler and especially with Adobe air its become an insanely easy & useful color selector. - svivian, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2I can't believe there exists a web site to resize photos for you. Gotta be one of the most pointless sites ever. There are dozens of free graphics apps where that is one of a hundred features.
- sjaxso, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2net2ftp is quite a security risk, really. Not a problem if you're uploading pictures of kittens, a bit more of a worry if you're doing anything remotely professional.
- ultrafez, on 10/05/2008, -1/+3Notepad, Photoshop and Illustrator - the only 3 tools you need for decent web design.
- BoneStamp, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2Hmmm, no colourlovers.com or kuler.adobe.com?
- there, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2Any one have some good sites (easy to search) devoted purely to unrestricted use for fonts, stock photos , clipart, and backgrounds? (i.e. no catches like edit limitations, attribution, fees, non-commercial uses, etc...) I'm sick of going to websites that claim "free" but then I find non-commercial licenses blended in tiny print and I end up having to read licenses up the wazoo. (even CC can be a drag)
btw - pure public domain collections that can be downloaded in one shot would be an added bonus. - 007isbond1, on 10/05/2008, -1/+2http://www.webftp.co.uk is another web ftp app
- vpsivam, on 10/05/2008, -1/+2I feel RememberTheMilk as a very useful one in the list.
- shupeng, on 10/05/2008, -0/+1good dog
- GreenDots, on 10/05/2008, -1/+2What a poor list.
- GreenDots, on 10/05/2008, -2/+2What a poor list.

- mesarah, on 10/04/2008, -9/+5This is an amazing and very useful list. I already know about few free web based tools but let me review them in detail.
