- Snottlebocket, on 05/07/2009, -2/+7Nothing wrong with using a good library. Programming chops are great but it's foolish to keep reinventing the wheel. Especially when other people build better wheels.

- inkswamp, on 05/07/2009, -0/+3Snottlebocket, I don't have anything against using libraries. That's not the point. I've done web development for 8+ years for a corporate entity who shall remain unnamed and I know how deadlines work--sometimes you don't have time to do the "pride of authorship" thing. Still, Digg is supposedly a geek site and JS libraries are the programming equivalent of playing with Legos. It's not something we need to see a dozen articles a day about. (I mean, Jesus, how much hand-holding do people need anyway?)
And as a side note, there *are* some valid arguments to be made on the leaner code approach where you code just to achieve what you need and not drag in the unnecessary overhead. Given a complex enough site, it doesn't take long for the user experience to deteriorate as a result of using too much canned code. - j4200, on 05/07/2009, -1/+4It has nothing to do with "the art of transitions". It's copy pasta for nubs.
- inkswamp, on 05/07/2009, -5/+8Okay great... another page showing you how to use JS libraries. Wake me when the real programming articles hit the front page.

- abid786, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2WTF are you doing in the design section if you don;t know what javascript is?
- j4200, on 05/07/2009, -1/+2Nothing wrong no. But these articles are spammed. He's right. We rarely see anything beyond the scope of "JS libraries" on the front page. Some real articles would be anything that isn't the 10 best copy pastums. yummyumm copypasta!

- MtheoryX, on 05/09/2009, -0/+1Digg hasn't been a "geek site" for years.
- papastout, on 05/07/2009, -1/+1Another great lesson from the digg classroom
- abuttt, on 05/08/2009, -0/+0How to make me say "WTF is all this java crap" and close your tab 3.5 seconds after opening it.
- noncn4mst, on 05/07/2009, -3/+3Great.. another page curl.
- 25oClock, on 05/06/2009, -9/+5This selection is really beautiful. These would really help us in to develop an attractive website.
- slyzxx, on 05/07/2009, -8/+1Very helpful thank you.
- mctom987, on 05/07/2009, -8/+1I'm partial to the pop. Simple, fast, and works everywhere.
