You sow cars? - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Dr. Seuss was a children's author.
Dr. Suse sounds like a Linux distro for MDs... - dpcdomino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Too bad car companies do not have the balls to release them.
Anyone remember what the Mustang concept looked like? Not much like the release form. - reevolutn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16youre not ***** cool stop saying that
- ImPerial99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13im totally diggin the Maybach Exelero...... in the words of car and driver: "if darth vader drove a car, this would be it"
- ccheath, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13the camaro will be a 2009 year model hitting dealers in mid 2008
i'd like to see that scion too!
and yes, that saab aero-x is friggin cool, but they'll never make it - Tolzmaniac, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Call me old fashioned, but I would still prefer to have this:

Actually it looks a lot like the new Mustangs... - wjw75, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Anyone else think that the Chrysler Imperial Concept :
http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/4731/3161/400/50892/a27_imperial1.jpg
is a rip off of the Rolls Royce Phantom: http://www.autobytel.com/images/2006/Rolls_Royce/Phantom_Extended_Wheelbase/400/2006_Rolls_Royce_Phantom_Extended_Wheelbase_exfrdrvr34.jpg
The Saab looks awesome though. - Tolzmaniac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Remember this?

It's the Dodge Charger concept car. It looks about 100 times better than the cureent 4-door Charger in production. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5That's teh most incredable summary i ever sow.
"Check Spelling: It's there for a reason." - green1152, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@jamauss
They'll most likely end up in a show room. Most concept cars don't have engines in them. They're just meant for show. - gamemaster357, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4looking at the Nissan right after the Saab....kills the effect of the Saab..........dam that nissan for being so gay.....
wish i could sow cars - u8myfoood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Chrysler Imperial Concept doesnt not belong there... looks like a bently/rolls royce wannabe, but it is not wide enough for its stance... thus UGLY AS *****!
- Oculus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If Vader had a car, it would most likely look like this http://www.autoblog.com/2006/12/20/george-lucas-receives-first-mosler-mt900-supercar/. Lucas was the first person to receive the street legal version.
- KanosWRX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I only like the Saab, the others I could do without. But that really is a nice looking saab, I could see that on the road one day.
- FuriousGopher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3IMHO, the SAAB Aero X is definately the most appealing, sexiest and just-plain-awesome looking concept of the lot. Also in my opinion, it's too bad the Jeep Hurricane didn't make it on the list
- archlich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+310. is based off the boxfish: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Lactophrys_polygonia.jpg
- Porkchoppa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Holy ***** *****... looks like something that Steve Urkel would drive.
lol - flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The Maybach looks like an 80's camaro.
- joaob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not only is he stealing traffic and bandwidth from the blogger site which he is iframing....
he is also using Pligg without any open source creds - Amnesia10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Personally my favorites were the GM Hy-wire, a great looking car and so good for the environment as well. The Saab Aero X is amazing to look at as well. The Maybach Exelero does look like a modern Batmobile. Now lets get saving for one, probably over a $1 million easy!
The Nissan Pivo was quirky though not my cup of tea but it could grow on me. It would appeal to those who can not reverse, just turn the cabin around and drive forward again. The rest just were bland or ugly, though they would appeal to some. - grendel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Maybach Exelero is a production vehicle.
I am diggin the Scion & The Camaro for realistic daily driving. - Gerolsteiner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Horribly tacky design, save the Saab. Furthermore, for the record, the Japanese have been churning out concepts like the "kitchen timer" in the article for years. All dynamic, sure, but the design is just awful.
- Fowz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I saw the Maybach at the London Motorshow last year and man that car was long...VERY long..that's what I remember about it. The highlight was however the Saab...that car was beautiful. Take a look.
http://picasaweb.google.com/fowzie/LondonMotorshowSummer2006 - Shiftgood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Listen up. Those pics of the camaro don't do it justice. In real life when you see it with your real eyes you'll probably pee a little its so sweet. Everyone at the auto show had their phone cameras out and it had more attention than any other car. The Chrysler has a different crowd... how do you say..?? ghetto fabulous? same thing.. but with that demographic. I mean.. the thing has 23 in rims on it. You can freakin fix your hair by lookin in them.
The other concept cars are cool if you're under the age of 8 years old.
word. - jamauss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2anybody know what happens to these concept cars if they're never put into production? Does anyone ever get to keep them and drive them?
- profOblivion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The word is "concept", people. Relax a bit. Concept cars are just ideas, ways for manufacturers to say, "Here's something we'd like to try, maybe not now, but maybe someday. Whaddya think?"
- Jadael, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Exelero is one of the sexiest cars I've ever seen. Supercars all seem to sort of blur together in my mind, but this one really stands out.
- Spr0k3t, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The PIVO is designed for traffic in highly congested areas such as the marketplaces in China. It was not designed for looks or the rip roaring open road. I like the PIVO for concept only, they could have made the darn thing look a hell of a lot better imho.
- profOblivion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Okay, normally I'd digg you down for linking to your own blog. But I agree with you that the Efijy is one of the coolest cars I've ever seen. And yeah, it's at the NAIAS: http://www.smh.com.au/news/news/the-15-million-fj-makes-the-big-time/2006/12/28/1166895406022.html
Very, very cool car. - profOblivion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd like to see it next to a Smart for scale.
- Calculon64, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I want a ***** Nissan Pivo. Pussy Magnet!!!
- profOblivion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1oops, double reply.
- EricTheGrey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My first thought when I saw that was, "better hope you don't park in any tight spaces." With the way those doors open up, you'd be stuck until people came back.
But it does look nice.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7756020189597681609 - Calculon64, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The Saab and the Maybach look stunning. Everything else is looks just as bad as this:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/04/Homer_dreamcar.gif - qazwsxedc30, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Car and Driver called the Buick regal grand national the "Darth Vader Car" way back in the early 80's.
The stealthy appearance coupled with the fact that the Grand National was initially released during the height of Star Wars fever earned it the title Darth Vader Car (Car and Driver covered the model's introduction with the headline "Darth Vader, your car is ready").
So they must be handing out the title like candy - hoppdawg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There are some people with real bad taste on Digg.

(not a Charger, but I think the new Challenger looks better than the New Charger.) - Spr0k3t, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I really like the Fuze... but I have to give props to the HyWire for moving away from standard fuel resources.
At the factory I worked at, they would create at least three versions of the concept cars.
1: Build, rebuild, rework, and retool model to check the cost effectiveness of the design.
2: Destruction model for testing against the safety ratings
3: Show model
From time to time, there were multiples of type 2 and 3 built when a concept has the gusto to be a full production model. If the model never made it into full reign, the factory would either donate the show model to a museum (of their own, or larger scale), keep as a reference model, or completely scrap keeping only the ideas in ink. They would never release the models to the public or even to one of their own employees since they were designated with an X as the first character of the VIN which represents Experimental and unable to be licenses. - mangojump, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@profOblivion
But now, which is soooooo much more expensive? - funnyjelo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is Def the best concept I have seen in a long time. Holden Effigy. That's a car.

Yeah, they're called Diggers. - profOblivion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@dawglse
But now, which do you see more of? - profOblivion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Got a bunch of comments. I like the detailed descriptions, but the selection of pictures makes little sense to me. I'm especially talking about the interior, but some of the exterior descriptions, too. Examples:
Mille Miglia Coupe: "The asymmetrical LED taillight cuts down from the top of the rear window and curls under the rear of the coupe. [...] Interesting feature nonetheless." Show me!
Hy-wire: "The driver accelerates by gently twisting either the right or left hand grip, and brakes by squeezing the brake actuator also located on the hand grips. The hand grips glide up and down for steering [...]" I'm intrigued...show me!
Fuse: "Videos or images can be downloaded and viewed on a concealed LCD screen behind the front badge. And then there is the interior." And the description ends there... *what about* the interior?
Aero X: "Saab has applied techniques derived from Swedish glass and precision instrument making, displaying data on glass-like acrylic 'clear zones' in graphic 3-D images." Sounds really cool. Don't make me go looking for pictures.
Anyway, those are some wicked-cool cars. The Maybach looks suspiciously like the Cadillac Sixteen, however. Second-last picture on the page, compared to: http://www.getchevatgan.com/images/fun/cadillac/2003-Cadillac-Sixteen-Concept-1280.jpg Hmmm...
LUUVVVS the Camaro. Kinda the same throwback idea as the new Mustangs. That's a good thing IMO.
Oh, and I've previously found Scions painful to look at, for the same reason as the Honda Element. Nice to see they're thinking about rounding out some of those corners. - kd1s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Totally digg the BMW Mille Miglia - very slick looking vehicle.
Here's what I liked and how I ranked them:
BMW Mille Miglia coupe
Scion Fuse
Saab Aero X
Maybach Exelero
My ranking would be:
1. BMW Mille Miglia Coupe
2. Maybach Exelero
3. Scion Fuse
4. Saab Aero-X - kingjokin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1BATMAN + JAMES BOND = No 1. Maybach Exelero ... BadAss!!
No 3 doesn't look very "concepty". ummm yeah that's a word right? -
