- techrex, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Great list! As for me, I'm sticking to iGoogle.
- gyphie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9about:blank FTW
- mateo60, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I used Netvibes for a month or so. It has great features and looks nice. The only problem, compared to iGoogle, it's so slow. I ended up going back to iGoogle, which is very zippy.
- brwright, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I've tried them all, iGoogle and netvibes get my vote.
- resplence, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"Conclusion
The need for a start page is undeniable."
I'll deny that any day... - op12, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I like how Ajax is emphasized even though all the features in the description can be implemented without it. Seems like the author has a misunderstanding about the differences/uses of AJAX and DHTML.
That said, it's a good list of start pages. - DivinoAG, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3So many people seem to think Netvibes is so great and perfect, I was begging to think I was the only one using iGoogle. Like you, I love the features and visuals on Netvibes, but takes too long to load, and uses way too much resources, which is not so great when you're trying to produce animations on the same system.
Since I keep my browser open the whole day while I work, I prefer something lighter, and Google always go for lighter designs. - zyklon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Does anyone remember www.fold.com? While that site was kicking around, I loved it to death. Then when they announced they were shutting down, I almost *****.

Thank you. - jooaakim, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2And i thought www.ajax.nl was the only good start page for ajax fans :/
- kevyn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I use http://www.only2clicks.com which works pretty damn well. I use it like an online bookmarks page
- xxdesmus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Netvibes FTW ...not even close.
- Coronaboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm not the owner of Protopage, not sure what gave you that idea.
- Narfmaster, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Agreed. I love the features, but when you've got 15 tabs full up with feeds it is sloooooooow to load. I run Firefox's speed dial as the default blank page nowadays.
- jimioio, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1you are its owner so you don't have choice..keep it up
- championchap, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Same here really, I find them to be like getting a bitesized chunk of each site at once.
It feels like im getting a very cut down experience and actually missing out on a lot by not viewing the actual website. - mhmdkhamis, on 12/15/2007, -0/+0I like how Ajax is emphasized even though all the features in the description can be implemented without it. - galide, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0using outlook, just like to keep emails and rss both in the same place...
- alessandrorreis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Excellent list. Thanks
Right now I am using Netvibs and it is very good. - KillTheRhythm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Speed Dial in Opera is pretty sweet. It allows you to add 9 sites (in a 3-per-row grid format) and refreshes screenshots of the sites at your choosing (5 seconds to 30 minutes, or customisable).
It's great for sites you visit most, like Digg, email etc. - psevium, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Thats the only one I use if I do use any
I'd like to add, snap shots are ***** - jimioio, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0How much a perfectly working netvibes clone is worth ? please anyone...

- jimioio, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0How much a perfectly working clone of netvibes is worth ?
- gglynn07, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I second your opinion techrex, I love my igoogle. I especially like my Garfield comic strip being next to my tech and business news...You'll never see that in a newspaper!!!
- spoulson, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1If only they would make a full featured retro start page, like what they've done at http://www.chiptune.com .
- EspressoNinja, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Speaking of Ajax, can someone recommend a good book on it? All the amazon reviews for Ajax books are 4+ stars, so I guess I can't go wrong, but I'm wondering if any diggers have one they especially like.
- jimioio, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0the granny way...lmao
- danielgary, on 10/10/2007, -6/+3Live.com is nice. When it started out it was slow as hell, but they've really turned it into a nice site. You guys should try it. I know its Microsoft, but its alot better than iGoogle.
