When people say things like this, do they realize that Adobe has a much fatter wallet and that no free design software will EVER be able to compete? Sure it will spell the end for basic users needing to pirate Illustrator, but as for professionals this thing can't stack up. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8this is very likely all everybody will ever need when designing web pages...
will dig into the list on week end. - maheshee11, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9great list!
- resplence, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Based on the absurd number of items I thought this was yet another Smashing Magazine list, but the title itself was not pseudo-journalistic enough. Had it been "100 'essential' design tools" etc, then it'd be Mashable.
- Powerdrift, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Wow, why didn't I block you the first time?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Thank you Fernando, your site sucks.

- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Amen!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2OSWD does have a lot of templates, but the site is pretty much dead.
OWD was the next step, but was sold to a new owner who put ads into the templates themselves, which prompted the core of the community to leave and start OpenDesigns.org, which might not have the most designs now, but is the most active and has the freshest stuff.

Then again, you don't know my life, and I might be a Nicaraguan hooker. - unsolicited, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Thank you for sharing.

You mean like Firefox/InternetExplorer, Apache/IIS, Jboss/Geronimo/Websphere/Weblogic & Ubuntu/Fedora/Windows? I'm quite willing to believe that Illustrator is currently superior to Inkscape, but if Inkscape is or becomes popular and is properly managed then it's only a matter of time no matter how much money Adobe has banked. - NerdyNinja, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I think that's on the list already. :P
- MavRevMatt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Nice list.
