- Twag86, on 01/28/2009, -5/+618Why you little...! (strangles Nancy Cartwright)
- infamousjr, on 01/28/2009, -3/+472Its funny how she has stated in past interviews that she can not do the voice of Bart Simpson whenever she feels like it because she does not own the rights to the character.
I guess Xenu trumps copyright/trademark infringement. - dzneill, on 01/28/2009, -2/+381Anyone who uses that ***** robocall ***** needs to be punched in the face.
- yocouchdigga, on 01/28/2009, -13/+383I had no idea she was such a stupid bitch, I'll never hear Bart's voice the same way...

/fair game Nancy - BradOFarrell, on 01/28/2009, -0/+261The animators should do that. And not tell her.
- michaelhood, on 01/28/2009, -35/+244If Fox doesn't reprimand her for this, I hope you'll all join me in boycotting The Simpsons.
Oh wait, I haven't seen it in a decade since they started getting all political and unfunny. - hbyrne, on 01/28/2009, -6/+200D'oh Ron Hubbard.
- inactive, on 01/28/2009, -2/+186Will Smith, now Bart Simpson, for shame.
- Anonynamefag, on 01/28/2009, -3/+180What bloody hypocrites. They sue the brains out of anyone who mentions Xenu on their website, but they can use Bart Simpson's voice to promote the $cientology cult?
"Somebody some day will say "this is illegal." By then be sure the orgs [Scientology organizations] say what is legal or not."
- L. Ron Hubbard, Hubbard Communications Office Policy Letter, 4 January 1966, "LRH Relationship to Orgs" - winterus, on 01/28/2009, -29/+195since your comment got voted up to the top I guess Digg agrees that suing for "copyright infringement" is perfectly fine now. What a total reversal!
- 0mniscient, on 01/28/2009, -2/+159***** Scientology.
- inactive, on 01/28/2009, -1/+151Thanks, Ollie. Up next, a pig that refuses to eat Jews. After this.
- Zera, on 01/28/2009, -4/+146No, the real solution here is for the Simpsons to do a few anti-Scientology episodes, just like the ones South Park did.
- inactive, on 01/28/2009, -12/+146Fire that bitch, I guarantee there are hundreds of people that can do the Bart voice flawlessly.
- YME1280, on 01/28/2009, -11/+123I'm Bart Simpson, who the hell is Tom Cruise?
- protogenxl, on 01/28/2009, -2/+108Thanks Ollie
- inactive, on 01/28/2009, -17/+116Fair weather idealists: copyright only sucks when it stands between them and free *****.
- rancidpony, on 01/28/2009, -4/+101I will not target kids using cartoon characters to promote Scientology.

(You would think they would have taken a clue from the blow back that tobacco companies got for using similar tactics. - inactive, on 01/28/2009, -2/+95Shh, she isn't ranked high enough to learn about Xenu, that's at the 33 level thetan. She still has to pay $5 million to become a level 32.
- feezus, on 01/28/2009, -0/+88I've seen her decline doing the voice in interviews because she could get fired for it....this probably wasn't a smart move.
- mikelieman, on 01/29/2009, -2/+87Scientology isn't a religion.
Religions don't invoice you to read the next chapter of their bible. - MrCrumbles, on 01/28/2009, -3/+86This is worse than when Bart prank called Australia collect. I hope they give Nancy The Boot.
- firesphotons, on 01/28/2009, -0/+82A cartoon character as a religion's spokesperson speaks volumes about the product.
- Willravel, on 01/28/2009, -3/+83"Publicity wise, coming right after the John Travolta fiasco, Cartwright could have probably recorded the message for, say, Hamas, and received less blowback."
Hahaha... well played, article. - Spoonicus, on 01/28/2009, -1/+788888417131 GO INTERNET!!
- Shawn4168, on 01/29/2009, -0/+69It's only arrogance if he claims that he can do it himself.
- ANonHubbard, on 01/28/2009, -0/+68Agreed!
- mferrari3, on 01/28/2009, -10/+78I mean this 100% seriously, anything helping that nutjob cult should be illegal.
- UnFriendlyFire, on 01/28/2009, -10/+73¡Ai Caramba!
- billbugger, on 01/28/2009, -1/+64In a public forum?
- sdigroup, on 01/28/2009, -2/+63***** the Cult of $
- ncapone, on 01/28/2009, -0/+57You mean the AT-5000 Autodialer.
"Hey, who shot the auto-dialer? " - DeathfireD, on 01/28/2009, -7/+63I thought it ended when Maggie killed Mr. Burns.
- thesonofdarwin, on 01/28/2009, -1/+52To promote an event for a for-profit organization? I doubt it very much.
- lelebelle, on 01/28/2009, -1/+51Fire her, then have Xenu be a guest character on the show. That would at least be entertaining.
- ANonHubbard, on 01/28/2009, -3/+52Scientology is not a religion, it's pseudoscientific bad medicine that was turned into a religion when it's scam artist drug-snorting founder L. Ron Hubbard was about to get busted for practicing medicine without a licence. In its current form, it's a money-making scheme for a sociopathic midget criminal named David Miscavige. Calling it a religion is an insult to everyone's intelligence.
- LeepII, on 01/28/2009, -4/+53If someone listens to Bart Simpson for advice on religion.......well, you can figure it out.
- almk, on 01/28/2009, -2/+50Careful. You wouldn't want to do anything to upset The Leader.
- afx1, on 01/29/2009, -1/+49easy there, ghengis khan
- cryonix, on 01/29/2009, -5/+51When the legality of a copyright or trademark that has been clearly outlined for decades such as with the trademark over Bart Simpsons voice being owned by Fox, the violation is obvious and inarguable.
When it comes to a new form of copyright infringement such as file sharing that hasn't had a law or legal outline till recently, thats where you come across a fuzzy line of legality and ethics.
Suing for Copyright Infringement IS perfectly alright. I'm an artist, and copyright infringement is really damaging when it comes to commercial infringement. I've been fortunate enough to deal with people who have infringed on my works for non profit and are understanding and willing to work it out without bringing the law into it. I'm a reasonable guy so most of my stuff is now Creative Commons non commercial. since attacking someone who admires your work by posting it on their website isn't damaging, but when finding your art plastered on the side of a bus by someone else... then you're talking lawyers. - FROGMAN9, on 01/28/2009, -3/+49unbelievably south parks rendition of the origins of scientology is really close, its almost sad that south park couldn't make anything up to spice it up.
- NinjaGod, on 01/28/2009, -3/+48A true "WTF" moment.
- carbonfilament, on 01/29/2009, -1/+46I haven't watched since they started completing three story lines in a 20 minute episode. Remember back in the day when an episode was about 27 minutes and had one story line? It was funny then.
- theradical, on 01/28/2009, -2/+47please please please take a page from south park's book.
kill off bart! - inactive, on 01/29/2009, -0/+43Why it's the AT-5000 Auto-Dialer. My very first patent. Aw, would you listen to the gibberish they've got you saying, it's sad and alarming. You were designed to alert schoolchildren about snow days and such. Well, let's get you home to Frinky. Hope your wheels still work, bw-hey.
- mbraynard, on 01/29/2009, -1/+40Lisa would not approve.
