- thatsmyaibo, on 02/05/2008, -18/+4Why is this childish comment being dugg up? The only worst first comment would have been "first".
On the plus side, Pixar movies are consistently amazing. I see no reason why this movie won't be a blast to see.- noelsusman, on 02/05/2008, -2/+11Anybody who doesn't smile when that voice says Wall-E cannot have a soul. Take down your macho man facade and admit it when you think something is cute.
- iloveazngurlzs, on 02/05/2008, -7/+2THIS MOVIE IZ GONNA B TEH BEST UBER CUTENESS EVA!!! if i am a ten year old girl
- Icyfenix, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1Hey! some of us like movies we can take our kids to that don't hurt our brains with their ***** and moral lessons.
I will teach my son moral lessons thank you very much, bring on the cute!

- quigles3000, on 02/04/2008, -4/+85I love how when Pixar releases a new trailer, they're pretty much always their own self-contained short film. Manages to capture your interest and give you an idea of what to expect from the movie without ever actually spoiling any of the scenes from it. Other studios could learn a lot from them.
BTW - Anybody else getting a cuteness overload whenever they see WALL-E? I wouldn't be surprised if he became the next lolcat-type meme or something. Seriously, look at the digg image. "I can haz oyle?"- Del129, on 02/04/2008, -1/+24I've seen some trailers that are basically the whole movie condensed. Trailer like that ruin the movie. I appreciate Pixar not spoiling anything.
- affanjam, on 02/05/2008, -1/+8like 300
- gdehms, on 02/05/2008, -2/+4well I'm pretty sure you knew what was going to happen in that, considering it was based off, you know, history.
- InferiorWang, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4Why is he getting dugg down? The Battle of Thermopylae isn't really a very obscure reference.
- daborg, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4Well... If by "based on" you mean that it was made from a graphic novel written by someone who once walked past a history book... yes.
- gdehms, on 02/05/2008, -2/+4well I'm pretty sure you knew what was going to happen in that, considering it was based off, you know, history.

- Klarth, on 02/05/2008, -0/+10He looks like ROB.
- InferiorWang, on 02/05/2008, -0/+3I thought it was a pretty smart advertisement. Instead of telling you what the movie is about, they thoroughly convince you of WALL-E's cuteness so that you'll be receptive to whatever they show.
- Del129, on 02/04/2008, -1/+24I've seen some trailers that are basically the whole movie condensed. Trailer like that ruin the movie. I appreciate Pixar not spoiling anything.

- LeZeb, on 02/04/2008, -1/+25This movie will be a blast, I hope as promise that it will have no dialogs. first minimalistic Scifi CG movie ? :)
- whitezombie420, on 02/04/2008, -20/+11that robot looks like a ripoff of johnny 5. this is unacceptable.
- logicalnoise, on 02/05/2008, -0/+6it's called an homage to the most beloved non-real robot done with practical effects. it's an intentional reference.
- iloveazngurlzs, on 02/05/2008, -4/+1and you get dugg down for stating the truth. The cute-ness repulsed me.
- ZephyrNinety, on 02/04/2008, -5/+19Another perfect movie from Pixar. Gotta love it!
- NotOptium, on 02/04/2008, -16/+7Enough with the Super Bowl ads. They sucked this year anyway.
- wheezyninja, on 02/05/2008, -1/+6I beg to differ. Please remember the add where the mouse busted through the wall and beat the hell out of the guy...
- WootZoot, on 02/05/2008, -2/+2Not a new ad, doesn't count.

I guess no one's perfect, though.- Icyfenix, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1I hate that movie. This is in part because I have a 4-year old that loves that movie.

- MYarms, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4Johnny 5 IS alive.
- wedges, on 02/05/2008, -0/+15that's not Tom Hanks’ voice, is it?
- ggfobster, on 02/05/2008, -1/+1I noticed that as well.
- MrBabyMan, on 02/05/2008, -0/+3He's got a brother, Jim, who usually fills in when Tom can't (or won't) do the gig. It's probably him. http://imdb.com/name/nm0360028/
- Misaiato, on 02/05/2008, -0/+12This movie is going to rock. Wall-E DOES look like Johnny 5 - another movie which rocked. Imagine the animators actually getting inspiration from somewhere! Surely no artist ever derives their inspiration from something else...
- uziko, on 02/05/2008, -6/+3Anything that says it's going to be a film you will remember for the rest of your life is a film i am not going to even watch.
- weside, on 02/05/2008, -14/+5This movie looks like ass.
- jjpertusch, on 02/05/2008, -6/+2yeah, i agree actually. im kind of surprised with the positive comments here.
- glory, on 02/05/2008, -0/+3Whatever. This movie is the *****.
- iloveazngurlzs, on 02/05/2008, -4/+1i couldn't agree more. If i was 6, this movie might be teh cute
- jjpertusch, on 02/05/2008, -6/+2yeah, i agree actually. im kind of surprised with the positive comments here.

- IWDA4, on 02/05/2008, -4/+1wuhaaAAAAlee ... admit that it's annoyed you at the end of the trailer you see before EVERY movie.
- samrum, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1what?
- onionoino, on 02/05/2008, -0/+2reminds me more of batteries not included than short circuit for some reason
- thed0ct0r, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1i gotta admit...i had a lump in my throat during the first half of the trailer because my first thought was "TOY STORY 3!" but the lump quickly left as my heart melted for that little robot. by far my favorite add of the night
- zwaldowski, on 02/05/2008, -2/+2That's looks adorable. Looks like another Toy Story. Speaking of... was that really Tom Hanks and Tim Allen speaking? I mean, it is Pixar, they could've modulated it or something.
- iloveazngurlzs, on 02/05/2008, -1/+4"the cute?"
Whats with all the 13 year old girls on digg? - ColonelJessup, on 02/05/2008, -0/+0Anyone else think that this is going to be a really sad movie?
- JoshuaLowe, on 02/05/2008, -4/+1Buried for obvious viral marketing
- pilot3033, on 02/05/2008, -0/+2it was a superbowl ad! That's as far away from 'viral' as you get!
- etx313, on 02/05/2008, -0/+2Aside from the great art direction, the sound design sounds really good too. Can't wait to check this one out.
- wondertwins, on 02/05/2008, -1/+1how bout this: Did anyone DIDNT watch this.
- BobbyMC, on 07/21/2008, -8/+2What the ***** kind of lametard would remember this movie over the ridiculous amount of hella sweet movies coming out this summer?
Your answer? The ***** goo goo gah gah parent patrol that is taking this site over. Thinking about the fact that people are so easily enslaved by their parenthood, doomed to die having done nothing more than inflate more meatbag children's heads with animated fluff.... It makes me want to kill again.
You obsess over your little kiddy movies in your own home. Leave the digging to people with an actual purpose in life like me. We've got breaking political stories to comment on.
I hate you all.- areyouserious, on 02/05/2008, -1/+1***** you NonDicki....You and Rupaul.
- ggfobster, on 02/05/2008, -0/+2Wth are you ranting about again?
- VeganG, on 02/05/2008, -0/+3I feel sorry for you.
- Ukonu, on 02/05/2008, -1/+2Am I missing something? I can understand the hype on this site for movies like The Dark Knight and Iron Man because those are based on comics and a lot of the digg community loves comics and tech and stuff but where the hell did this movie come from? Why's everyone so hyped about it? What was so magnificent about that Super Bowl commercial?
...I'll admit that Pixar has an excellent track record with movies and this could be great but I don't get the hype.- pilot3033, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1Because people like pixar movies. They remind us what traditional animation was about, are all genuine, heartfelt, and fun to watch no matter what age you are.
Not to mention, everyone so far has had a wonderful, original storyline, with excellent scripts, and every improving animation. They are in a class of their own.
And, it's nice to have a trailer for a movie that doesn't give us any of the plot, yet still piques interest.
- pilot3033, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1Because people like pixar movies. They remind us what traditional animation was about, are all genuine, heartfelt, and fun to watch no matter what age you are.

- Rysac1, on 02/05/2008, -0/+2Found a random website that seems to be linked to it... they have robots like SALL-E and GAR-E http://www.buynlarge.com/
- shunter99, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1Yea, it's "random."
- llamagorama, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1Yeah, it's the incredible obscure website for the company that made Wall-E. The only hints to it so far have been on the little Wall-E bit on the Ratatouille game and the logo on the vacuum in this. Doesn't give away anything in the actual movie, but gives you a great view on what humanity's like in the future. Sloth Olympics, robots that care for your baby so you don't have to, ect. PIXAR expects the future to be fat and lazy.
- Dimbleby, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1As an animator, I worked on a WALL-E DVD project for a subsidiary company last year.
The craziest thing though: they wouldn't give us anything beyond the most basic model, they couldn't give us any reference for how he moves or anything that you would really need to be able to properly animate. No sound FX, nothing.
We'd animate something and they'd be like "Naah he needs to move more like this" and they'd explain it in an email and we wouldn't get it andsoforth. Frustrating.
They've been incredibly tightlipped! It was the same when we were working on Ratatouille. We had the OLD discarded models (pre-Brad Bird) and we got some of his reference sketches when he started reviving it to its final appearance.
There was a Sneak Preview showing for Wall-E up here in Portland but I was unable to get into it. I'm not too excited. Sorry. - Aniboomer, on 02/06/2008, -0/+0I'm really looking forward for this one, It looks awesome.
