- Lykil, on 07/13/2009, -1/+32Why not make a film about Forge boning Storm?
- RudeTurnip, on 07/13/2009, -0/+19You could just rent Monster's Ball and pretend Billy Bob Thornton is Forge. There, I just saved some movie studio $100 million.
- bookon, on 07/13/2009, -2/+18Nick Cage in a Crappy Superhero movie? NEVER!
- dinglebutt, on 07/13/2009, -0/+16A Jubilee movie directed by Michael Bay.
A match made in heaven. - Lucas123, on 07/13/2009, -3/+18Never heard of any of these characters, so it's probably a good thing they don't have their own movies.
- Syric, on 07/13/2009, -0/+14Except that Kick-Ass is about a nerdy kid living the dream and trying (note: trying) to be a crime fighter. Which is, y'know, kind of a good story.
- WocCixelsyd, on 07/13/2009, -0/+11I disagree. I think Kick-Ass could make a good movie. Yeah, he has no super powers or gadgets, but that's the point! It's a more 'real life' scenario where a nerdy kid obsessed with comic superheroes decides to don a mask and fight crime in his home city, mainly because his life is so ***** that he might as well do something Kick-Ass.
- D3koy, on 07/13/2009, -0/+10Forge is a mutant whose instinctive mechanical vision interprets the functions and operations of any machine, a skill that combined with his natural intelligence allows him to conceive, design and build his own mechanical devices. So he is basically a really smart engineer.
He's Sylar (from Heroes) meets Tony Stark... Sounds pretty kickass to me... - Willow01, on 07/13/2009, -2/+11Well someone hasn't been keeping up on the times......There's a Kick Ass movie already being made. Sort of.......http://www.aintitcool.com/node/41660
- WootZoot, on 07/13/2009, -0/+9Kick Ass is getting a movie made. Infact, the movie was greenlit before the first issue was even distributed.
Way to fail, article! - msw141, on 07/13/2009, -0/+7Who gives a f&%$? They wrote this article 3 days ago and there has been a well publicized movie in the works for months.
You shouldn't write on a subject you are that out of touch with. - guybrush3000, on 07/13/2009, -0/+7Isn't he more like Micah from Heroes?
You know, the kid who is super intelligent and can talk to machines.
....and be completely underutilized by the writers (but i guess that goes for every heroes character) - OMGNinjas, on 07/13/2009, -0/+7Bomb Queen might actually make a pretty decent tongue-in-cheek, uber violent sex comedy if it were done right.
- ps3udov3ctor, on 07/13/2009, -0/+6I think anyone that has minimal knowledge of comics must know Forge.
- blackmars0, on 07/13/2009, -1/+7Still waiting for a Lobo movie...
- awtripp, on 07/13/2009, -0/+5The Hulk is awesome. They just don't make him awesome enough in the movies. The Ed Norton version was soooo much better than that ***** storm Ang Lee tried to direct. Plus, they tied it to for the Ultimate Avengers movie.
- smacksaw, on 07/13/2009, -1/+6Micro-Lad: Don't worry, once you get puberty that might get better.
Kick-Ass: Beachhead called and he wants his mask back.
Atom Girl: Have you met my friend Micro-Lad? He won't hurt you...there...
Bomb Queen: Isn't that just every Jessica Simpson film already made? Been done already. - lonza64, on 07/13/2009, -2/+7never heard of any of them
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -0/+5The Greatest American Hero!
- alsazen, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4FTA: "We'd call him lame, but he did bone Storm. An impressive feat, but not worthy of a movie."
I'd beg to differ... that sounds like it could be a movie worth watching. Has the author ever seen Halle Berry? - ShoggothDreams, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4Oh, and that whole destiny to be one of the greatest sorcerors, but which he chooses to walk away from....
- ShingoEX, on 07/13/2009, -0/+4Fails for not including Speedball.
- Fhwqhgads, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3Mutating people into giants? That would make them MORE threatening wouldn't it?
- ShingoEX, on 07/13/2009, -1/+4Someone hasn't read the update in the article...
- palmer, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3You thought wrong.
- rpgguy1o1, on 07/13/2009, -0/+3bomb queen is a fantastic source material, but there's no way that hollywood would be able to retain anything worthwhile
- akohut, on 07/13/2009, -2/+5How the hell was a piece of ***** article like this published?
- awtripp, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2If you played any of the "ultimate alliance" video games you'd know Forge.
- berserc, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2Howard the Duck ... oops too late
- scarlettletter, on 07/13/2009, -3/+5Anyone who has to call themselves Kick Ass is definitely not a super hero and is going to get his ass kicked!
- netshark86, on 07/13/2009, -1/+3add Dazzler!
... oh wait. - FlaNative, on 07/13/2009, -1/+3Atom Girl fists Namorita till she squirts?
That would be good...
/What? - janinekahn, on 07/13/2009, -3/+5"Kick-Ass" = lamesauce.
- SinisterSaracen, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2If you'd actually bothered reading Kick-Ass, you would not think so.
- dkitch, on 07/13/2009, -0/+210. Elektra
- isayre020888, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2Kick-Ass is a great book. When ever a new issue actually makes it to stands.
- Destroytoy, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2So, no Solomon Grundy movie on the horizon?
- nudedos, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2#1 Forge AKA Vanilla Ice.
- inactive, on 07/14/2009, -1/+3Boning Storm is worthy of a movie, as long as it's not Halle Berry as Storm.
- GamerXR72, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2Mabey the update in the article is because they writer saw Willow01's post.
- Lunarsight, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2Yeah - that's the problem. If they based it too closely to the comic book, it would probably never make it into a movie theater due to the content.
- Lunarsight, on 07/14/2009, -0/+2Okay - I'll go out on a limb and say a Bomb Queen movie could potentially work. It would be a serious balancing act, though - they'd have to tone it down from the comic book to keep it at an R-rating or above, but they can't dilute it down so much that it becomes sterile and uninteresting [ala Aeon Flux].
It also depends on the producer/director - you would need somebody with a really twisted sense of humor to get this to work. (Has Warren Ellis or Garth Ennis directed any movies?)
On a sidenote, one character I would like to see get a movie is Jamie Madrox - he may seem like a tangental character, but in the hands of the right person, I think it could be box office gold. (I would play down the comic book element, and focus on the multiple-personality disorder of the duplicates.) - pe5t1lence, on 07/13/2009, -0/+2I thought Forge had some nanobots/machine that allowed him to make those devices extremely quickly.
So instead of asking congress for funding, opening a year long bid process, going through a second bid process because the first was challenged, losing half of the funding, starting production, losing another 20% of the funding, and finally receiving a new Blackbird.
You just have Forge build you a new Blackbird in a week.
Oh also I think he is a magic native american shaman. - inactive, on 07/14/2009, -1/+2Who dugg this *****? Who the ***** are these people??
- SinisterSaracen, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1Forge is awesome. That article sucked.
- Scalpels, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1You should read it.
- D3koy, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1Yeah, he's much more like Micah, I guess I completely forgot he existed... Whoops
- rpgguy1o1, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1more importantly how did it get front paged?
digg's list quota must not have been met for today - Governator88, on 07/13/2009, -1/+2This made me jab a rusty nail in my eye.
- miggie, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1why is forge so light. He's Native American
