The person who made the comic may not have known, but those presents were not from his real mother, they were from the fake "mom" in the game.

True and probably correct: the 'mom' character in Animal Crossing did send him some gifts. But those are automatically deleted after a certain time. Trust me, I opened my AC game that I hadn't played in 43 months (one of my towns-people told me that...weird, huh?) and I only had 3 letters. I think that if someone who's playing the game (sister, mother, girlfriend, etc) from the same memory card, it keeps track of it and makes sure it doesn't auto-delete.
Also, I doubt the guy who wrote the comic and the guy who had the original story are the same guy. Also also, this has been on the front page at least once before. Still, it's touching and nice to see it again. - fkr3, on 03/15/2008, -0/+8Or send it to Nintendo for cleaning.
