- VyPR, on 03/22/2009, -0/+92You can tell from some of the comments that the writer doesn't watch South Park. Butters is not "South Park's favorite overweight kid", and I don't remember Issac Hayes returning unless you count the episode where they spliced old Chef voice clips together.
- KibblesnBitts, on 03/22/2009, -1/+73Cartoon Wars Part II was brilliant with its ending. You can't show Mohammad doing something rather simple and mundane, but you can show Jesus Christ taking a ***** on the American Flag.
- Incisive, on 03/22/2009, -6/+69South Park smashed the Jonas Brothers real well, along with people associated to them. We have to be appreciative of South Park for really attacking terrible groups or concepts like Scientology. The show keeps false people from dominating by pointing out their weaknesses, flaws, and negative qualities. There is always a new scumbag group to attack, and South Park always handles the big matters. I appreciate their presence.

- agentsrecord, on 03/22/2009, -4/+40Haha, I forgot how awesomely offensive these guys can be. Nicely done.
- KrazyGamerHead, on 03/22/2009, -1/+35What about Red Hot Catholic Love? That got basically the entire Roman Catholic Church in a huge uproar
- EMGroup, on 03/22/2009, -6/+33I really liked the "Hell on Earth 2006" episode with the Steve Irwin. I watched it last year and I don't think it went too far as the devil guy feels bad after he finds out that the guy really is Steve Irwin. I also liked the huge car cake aspect of the episode.
- rpgguy1o1, on 03/22/2009, -0/+26they didn't really smash the Jonas brothers at all, they made them out to be victims, controlled by Disney.
Same goes with the Brittney Spears episode - Shuk, on 03/22/2009, -2/+26Parker and Stone have mastered the comedic challenge of actually being edgy rather than "trying" to be edgy.
- gozroth, on 03/22/2009, -0/+24I love how you sighted specific examples and didn't just make one broad meaningless statement.
- rypic7, on 03/22/2009, -1/+25Trey Parker and Matt Stone are geniuses. There's no TV show or movie that can make me laugh at myself and my culture as hard as South Park can.

- OkCyDe, on 03/22/2009, -0/+19That ending is by far the best end to an episode of South Park ever
- graemee, on 03/22/2009, -0/+18That and actually producing a show that contains topical subject matter while it's still topical.

- screensnot, on 03/22/2009, -0/+15You mean the first one on the list?
- ileftfark, on 03/22/2009, -2/+17Excellent point. I was busy at work on Friday, and I didn't get on Digg at all that day. I'm hoping MrBabyMan can resubmit every front page article from that day, because I haven't seen them yet. You guys don't mind, right?
- richlw, on 03/22/2009, -0/+14It's a Merry Critter Christmas...Hail Satan
- Memnochxx, on 03/22/2009, -0/+13Season 12 was the last one worth watching? That was only 2 episodes ago.
- JackSrenton, on 03/22/2009, -0/+13Yes, the network did. Thats why there was controversy. They state that in the article..
- inactive, on 03/22/2009, -0/+11I thought Satan kicked him out of the Halloween party for not wearing a costume.
- EarlOfLade, on 03/22/2009, -2/+13When will South Park take on Wall Street and Cramer vs Stewart?
- darkchild82, on 03/22/2009, -0/+10While I agree some episodes are lame, I can say that about other popular TV shows I watch. To say that South Park is "unfunny" after the Jonas Brothers episode? Please.
"Bay-BAY!"- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pn_ApVgaDjI - Pimptastic, on 03/22/2009, -0/+10I have to agree, best ending to an episode ever. Even though this offended me more than pretty much anything they have ever done. I appreciate the brilliance in the way that they used this social commentary to prove a point.
- lisaawesome, on 03/22/2009, -0/+10It's mentioned at least. "Another episode, titled "With Apologies to Jesse Jackson," pulled a similar stunt using the N-word."
- themastersb, on 03/22/2009, -1/+10"exploiting the sensitive topic of rape for a trivial movie satire."
WHAT THE *****!? They call Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull trivial? I've never been more scarred in my life. Rape is pretty much on par with that. - Dougman82, on 03/22/2009, -0/+8I'm "sighting" a specific example right now. But I'm choosing not to cite it because I'm lazy.
- kanojo1969, on 03/22/2009, -0/+8For me their genius has been that they've managed to keep the show going without any discernible loss of quality for 13 years. That's unprecedented.
- nreynolds, on 03/22/2009, -0/+8uhhh... they air all those episodes. Elranzer's crazy.
- inactive, on 03/22/2009, -0/+8Damn, that was the first episode I thought of, and I was so disappointed that it wasn't on there.
- gozroth, on 03/22/2009, -0/+8oh man! I can't believe I missed that.
- bluemonnggee, on 03/22/2009, -0/+8And why isnt the SuperBestFriends episode included, South Park actually showed a cartoon depiction of Mohammed in that episode, well before the Danish controversy?
- willfe, on 03/23/2009, -0/+7That would have been the two-part episode where Cartman tries to get Family Guy taken off the air -- they repeatedly make jokes about how Family Guy may be random humor, but at least it's better than "other cartoons that get up into their own asses with a message," clearly referring to themselves.
It was pretty funny :) - Zera, on 03/22/2009, -0/+7Yes, on public TV it is. The FCC fines networks that air swear words during "daytime" hours, when sensitive children's ears who never ever hear swear words anywhere else won't hear them.
It's total *****.
Comedy Central is a Cable station though, so they aren't bound by as stringent standards. They still are encouraged to limit what they say, but there is more lee-way, and so in that example where South Park got permission to say "*****", Matt and Trey had to BEG for the opportunity, and then when they got permission, they made the most of it, and said ***** 100+ times in the episode.
It's work like this that is breaking down these stupid censorship barriers. - Fungus53, on 03/22/2009, -0/+7Um, it's the first one on the list.
- Stormwern, on 03/22/2009, -0/+7South Park's never been the most consistent show, but there tends to be something to like in every episode.
- graemee, on 03/22/2009, -1/+8The serial killer stooges are win. WooWooWoo
- MasterGrief, on 03/23/2009, -0/+6The reference to The Lottery in the Britney Spears one was gold. Great episode.
- DyDx, on 03/22/2009, -0/+6It's not just that they are 'encouraged' or have more 'lee-way' it's that the FCC has NO jurisdiction to limit what is on private cable networks. The FCC can only control publicly broadcasted materials.
Which is why it's funny when the Parents Television Council files complains over South Park and other cable shows. It shows how stupid they are. - OniSyphon, on 03/23/2009, -2/+8Simpsons did it.
- inactive, on 03/22/2009, -0/+6"The show keeps false people from dominating by pointing out their weaknesses, flaws, and negative qualities"
Last I heard, Scientology, the Jonas Brothers, and Disney were all still huge. I don't like any of them, but South Park doesn't reach a broad enough audience to significantally hurt their targets. - bossm4n, on 03/23/2009, -0/+6It has nothing to do with users being on Digg 24/7, it's about Digg's dupe detection algorithm not working correctly. This person submitted the exact same URL that made it to the front page 10 days ago and garnered around 850 Diggs. I'm pointing out what I see as an obvious problem. You can take whining and shove it up your ass.
- drunkenoaf, on 03/22/2009, -0/+6So that would, logically, be SP vs Cramer vs Jon Stewart. This does not make sense. You must aquit.
- TeleKawaru, on 03/23/2009, -0/+6The Scott Tenorman episode has been and will always be my favorite. Cartman kills his parents and makes him eat them just for selling him pubes. Fantastic.
- yellowfish04, on 03/23/2009, -0/+6I wanna maaake love to ya --children--
