- AshamedAmerican, on 07/17/2008, -19/+252Leave my comic heroes out of your goddamn political agenda.
And ***** your slide show.
Sorry, just annoyed. - wiggles, on 07/16/2008, -7/+100If Superman is a Republican, then is Captain America a Libertarian?
*reads article*
Wow! I was right! - Clugenheim, on 07/17/2008, -1/+66That's great.
In other news, both parties are royally ***** us. - pilot3033, on 07/17/2008, -5/+66really kind of a lame article actually.
16 pages with less than 3 lines of actual story on each page. And what content is there is just opinion.
buried as lame - NoDisk, on 07/17/2008, -0/+53My apologies.. [hijack]
Slideshows suck. Thus:
1. Superman – Republican
2. Captain America – Libertarian
3. The Thing – Independent
4. Wonder Woman – Democrat
5. Batman – Democrat
6. Silver Surfer – Neo-con Republican
7. Spiderman – Liberal Independent
8. The Punisher – Ultra-Right-Wing Republican
9. Iron Man – Republican
10. Green Lantern – Republican
11. Wolverine – Independent
12. Daredevil – Democrat
13. The Hulk – Ron Paul Republican
14. Kitty Pryde – Raised Republican, now Democrat
15. Buffy the Vampire Slayer – non-voting Democrat
16. The Flash – Eisenhower Republican
Score?
37% Left-wing // 13% Other // 50% Right-wing
His reasoning is scanty, but worth a glance if you have the time.
[/hijack] - Lochie, on 07/17/2008, -1/+35That's The Hulk.
- Maximilian000, on 07/17/2008, -0/+29Aquaman is definitely green left if anyone gave a *****
- danomagnum, on 07/17/2008, -1/+29For Captain America being a Libertarian alone, this is digg worthy.
- mst3kcrow, on 07/17/2008, -0/+25The Problems: I doubt Stark is for limited government as he does own a large company in the Military Industrial Complex (as Bkaufman mentioned). He also supported the registration act which contradicts a Libertarian's of civil liberties.
- micro506, on 07/17/2008, -22/+46Superman's gay?!
- pintomp3, on 07/17/2008, -7/+29that's how you know he's a true republican.
- Bkaufman, on 07/17/2008, -2/+23Yes but Iron Man works for the Military Industrial Complex.
- onestarleft, on 07/17/2008, -0/+21I can't decide which is more annoying. People talking about politics when they never paid attention before this election or people talking about comics when they never paid attention before they were a movie...
- stillasleep00, on 07/17/2008, -1/+22Read the damn article and find out.
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -1/+21yeah...I think all the comic heroes are independents at heart anyway....
it's not like they have a lot of people backing them up. - feh1325, on 07/17/2008, -0/+19buried for no REPAIR MAN MAN MAN MAN MAN MAN!!!
- suntzusputnik, on 07/17/2008, -5/+23DC = Republican
Marvel = Democratic / Independent / Libertarian
Dark Horse = Anarchist - da_bradler, on 07/17/2008, -4/+20Batman always carries Kryptonite in his belt since there first encounter. so superman wouldn't stand a chance.
- kawaiirobo, on 07/17/2008, -0/+16"Hulk Smash outdated ideas of bi-partisanship"
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -5/+18you're wrong. Batman just has to wear the kryptonite gloves
and Superman's down. - lordcrimmeh, on 07/17/2008, -0/+13Super Hero civil war... apparently involved those for cooperating with the government (super hero registration act) and those against...
- jon31rm, on 07/17/2008, -12/+24dugg for the hulk.
Ron Paul! - DisposableRob, on 07/17/2008, -0/+11I'd peg the Punisher as a pretty independent libertarian. He's severely distrustful of the government to the point of refusing a chance to hunt Bin Laden on the government's dime. And as violent as he is, his experiences in Vietnam have made him very anti-war as war is a tool of violent government oppression.
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -9/+20is Spider-Man an independent?
- jbassfretless, on 07/17/2008, -0/+11no way. spiderman is so obviously a dem. the guy lives in new york city, where he's poor as *****. he's a college student (and a science major for that matter). In his job, he gets payed nothing to take pictures of himself while whitey brings him down. the kid would vote for obama in a heart beat.
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -17/+27Superman is a republican, Batman a democrat...leaving diggers who digg such ***** and make it appear on the front page as *****
...buried - Brereton55, on 07/17/2008, -2/+12Logan's Canadian, eh? Is there a 'Beer Party' in Canada? Oh well, crack him a cold one and label him an Independent.
Wow... - Rapter09, on 07/17/2008, -0/+10Bah, don't drag superheroes into politics, no matter the theoretics. Superheroes by nature are above that stuff; Superman and Captain America have different ideals, and different ways of getting stuff done, but they do the right thing when it comes down to it. They work for a higher purpose. The largest majority of politicians don't, beyond what they imagine to be their own quest to 'fix' the system wrapped in the cloak of their own personal ambition.
- lineweight, on 07/17/2008, -7/+16This is fitting. Superman is an alien who grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere and flys around wearing *****-erotic spandex all while exercising "magic powers."
- Kidddrunkadelic, on 07/17/2008, -1/+10RON SMASH!!!!!
- mlvassallo, on 07/17/2008, -0/+8Shadowcat is awesome. Shut your mouths.
- masterm1nd, on 07/17/2008, -1/+9Bluntman!
- kingofdurp, on 07/17/2008, -1/+9Wow worst article I've read in a while. I see no evidence in this article supporting their beliefs why each superhero is aligned with a political party. The only ones they did have were the punisher, superman, batman.
- Trifold, on 07/17/2008, -5/+12All the big time heroes here...Superman, Batman, Spider-Man...Kitty Pryde?
- pintomp3, on 07/17/2008, -2/+9a true libertarian superhero would sit back and say "get your own bad ass suit, it's not my problem if you can't defend yourself"
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -0/+7YES! I KNEW IT!
- kolinkoolface2, on 07/17/2008, -12/+18libertarian = Iron man. Libertarians depend on themselves, not superficial or fake powers they inherited. We make our own life and in this case, a bad ass suit to beat up bad guys.
- MikeHoe, on 07/17/2008, -0/+6Correction: Superman is in the Green Party
& Batman is Independent - infinitus64, on 07/17/2008, -1/+7Gentlemen Our first Objective is to Kill Superman.
- Pirate45, on 07/17/2008, -1/+7I always wondered why I liked Captain America so much. Now I know why!
- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -3/+9bicycle repairman
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -1/+7calm down dear
- FuQboiroi, on 07/17/2008, -3/+9But couldn't superman just laser him to death from a far?
- wiggles, on 07/16/2008, -0/+6Nah. I'm thinking he's a green.
- Radan, on 07/17/2008, -1/+7I'll vote for Batman in the next election.
- charm803, on 07/17/2008, -2/+8"THE PUNISHER
Pro-NRA, Pro-Death Penalty, this guy would go hunting with Dick Cheney and shoot HIM in the face! Ultra-Right-wing Republican for sure."
Dugg for shooting Cheney in the face.
Uhhhhhh-before I get added to the LIST, I was KIDDING! - Asianwaste, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5God these ***** Redeye comicbook articles are just SO BAD.
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5"SILVER SURFER
An alien from another planet who wouldn't know a U.S. political party if it bit him on his cosmically-powered butt, but his far-reaching cosmic power would appeal most to Neo-Con Republicans."
I have a problem with the wording. The Power Cosmic would appeal to Neo-Cons, but that doesn't make the Surfer a Neo-Con. His first concerns have always been the planets and their inhabitants and fighting big power... I say he would be as far left as you could get. He's a Progressive all the way. - ericmerrill, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5Vegan? Batman eats irate right-wing diggers whole. During snack-time.
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5here here.
