It was nickelodian that probably poisoned the system and turned it into a mess. Nothing can match those first few episodes, I hadn't laughed like that at a cartoon since I first saw a Tex Avery cartoon.

Check out some of the SpikeTV episodes of Ren&Stimpy *released much much later* Theres a whole episode devoted to which one is the "pitcher" and which one is the "catcher". ****SPOILER****** Stimpy was the catcher.
Invader Zim was another cartoon that was heavily edited before hitting the air waves. -
