- Botulism, on 07/05/2008, -2/+430Now you're thinking with portals!
- ryan926, on 07/05/2008, -7/+291Pixar's best short to go in hand with Pixar's best movie.
- KingBabi, on 07/06/2008, -2/+158The carrot is a lie.
- Zippo, on 07/06/2008, -3/+151WALL-E was so awesome.
- Inuranic, on 07/05/2008, -17/+120Who keeps a rabbit in a birdcage?
- inactive, on 07/06/2008, -21/+121Actually, a lot of magicians keep their rabbits in birdcages. It's become a fairly common practice.
Here's video footage of David Copperfield backstage, getting ready to perform his own variation of the standard rabbit-and-hat trick. Right before he picks up the rabbit (at 0:27), you can clearly see that the rabbit is being kept in a birdcage that actually looks uncannily similar to the one in Presto. (Perhaps the birdcage in Presto is modeled after Mr. Copperfield's birdcage?)

- Feep, on 07/06/2008, -0/+88I love high-quality flash video players.
- synthaxx, on 07/06/2008, -5/+86I less than three Pixar
- inactive, on 07/05/2008, -1/+73This is the best 5 minutes I've spent today!
- psg188, on 07/06/2008, -3/+75I was really not expecting Wall-E to be that good.
I thought it would be neat, was interested in what kind of 'antics' that the robot would participate in while it discovered things like the extinguisher and the paddle, but after seeing IMDB rate it at 9.0 (Making it the 9th highest rated movie of all time on the site) I just had to see it.
I went today, and I must say, the praise is 100% deserved. I loved Wall-E, how they were able to send a great message, have some wonderful humor, and were able to create tons of emotion involving characters you really care about with little dialog astounded me. Nintendo did a decent job with this in the Brawl cut-scenes, but that's beside the point.
Wall-E is amazing, go see it if you haven't already. - fitqueenb, on 07/06/2008, -1/+61that short killed me at the theater.... It thought that entire clip was fantastic
- inactive, on 07/06/2008, -3/+53Seriously, I bet Portal inspired this cartoon, at least to some extent.
- angilinmago, on 07/06/2008, -1/+44dugg you for the effort
- lordsteve, on 07/06/2008, -0/+42The framed newspaper in the beginning of the short said "Triumphant Success!"

- inactive, on 07/05/2008, -2/+34It is great when you can team a great short with a great ovie - these two are perfect together!

- DukeMojo, on 07/06/2008, -0/+22Very nice, dude. Thank you for the laugh.
- aandkh, on 07/06/2008, -0/+21Great stuff, best Pixar short since the old man playing chess.
- Pinkshisno, on 07/06/2008, -2/+22Because Valve came up with the idea of a portal.
- ZimbuTheMonkey, on 07/06/2008, -0/+19You on crack? The idea is not really new. Valve made a great game and Pixar did the same with a short animated film, but neither came up with the idea of portals. Maybe they all copied Blizzard.
- BJLStorm, on 07/06/2008, -0/+19You're all wrong... Jesus came up with Portals.
- fenix61, on 07/06/2008, -2/+21Set the tone so well for Wall-E
- blahtastic, on 07/06/2008, -2/+21Flawless my ass, he used uuiU. That's a huge step away from perfection.
(The rest was excellently done though.) - shewasjustagrl, on 07/06/2008, -0/+19Geri's Game still remains the best Pixar short to me. Presto might have the flashy animation, but it can't match up in pure storytelling.

- psg188, on 07/06/2008, -0/+17Just to avoid fact checkers, it was 9th this morning with a 9.0 this morning before I saw it.
Just double checked and it is now 8.9 at 20th best movie of all time.
Thought I'd throw that out there before any certain self absorbed individuals deem necessary to point out any arbitrary flaws in my post. - bperin, on 07/06/2008, -0/+16that was actually really funny
- ripple123, on 07/06/2008, -1/+17The carrot cake is a lie.
- Firespray1138, on 07/06/2008, -1/+16Dugg because
One of the best shorts
It's Pixar
It had a bunny
Hat had a portal in it
WALL-E is awesome - Elliuotatar, on 07/06/2008, -1/+16Ah, but getting away with uuiU is precisely what makes it a coup de grace.
- inactive, on 07/06/2008, -3/+18The short thought that the clip was great, and therefore it killed you?

Considering how Pixar's short department works this short was probably pitched almost 2 years ago, long before Portal was released or announced. The director of a short is primed for being a director of a movie later on (think of them as "testing grounds" ) so the line to direct a short at Pixar is rather long as everyone wants to be the next Pixar director. Thus pitching begins long before the movie release date and continues until the best one is selected (like a reality show), and then ample time is allowed for the short to be created and perfected. In many cases, the short is finished long before the movie is released, One Man Band (in front of Cars in 2006) was finished in December of '04.
Basically, both Portal and Presto are well made products with similar themes, but both were in development well before the other was announced to the public. - ZimbuTheMonkey, on 07/06/2008, -1/+14Wow... I say "a bit" a bit too much...
- vinceislegend, on 07/06/2008, -0/+13Thanks for this link. One of the funniest shorts they've ever done--and that's saying something.
- NeoNcP, on 07/06/2008, -0/+13Cool, I wanted a second look at this after seeing it before Wall-E.
- simonwright, on 07/06/2008, -0/+12And Team Fortress 2 stole the graphic stylings of The Incredibles. Big whoop.
- Pentagarn, on 07/06/2008, -2/+14I loved this one. It has a kind of old Looney Tunes feel to it in the music and style. Sure, it used the Portals idea, but it's silly to say they're ripping off Valve or something. People tend to build on the ideas of others when they create art. Also, it isn't as though Portals was the first time that concept has been used.
- kd5ftn, on 07/06/2008, -1/+13Here's the actual FLV file, for saving purposes: http://ivideolog.uol.com.br/videos/b0/2d/343906_HD ...
Took a while to find this, Enjoy! - inactive, on 07/06/2008, -1/+12Nobody enjoys spam.
- tyroney, on 07/06/2008, -0/+11Either they tapped my cultural subconscious, or that top hat paired with a wizard hat thing has been done before. A cursory search found nothing online, but I could swear this wasn't the first time I'd seen a magical hat paired up like that.
Or maybe they've all played Portal. I dunno. - hijohnmark, on 07/06/2008, -1/+12A nice appetizer for what turned out to be a splendid entree. If you like this, see the film attached to it!
