- speaker219, on 10/11/2007, -0/+57It really pisses me off when people make a video of something that was not meant to be a video, and give NO CREDIT to the original author of it.
The original is here: http://www.johnsadowski.com/big_spanish_castle.php - anonatron, on 10/11/2007, -5/+46It's only a model
- Radan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+32Everyone who trimmed through the whole video to make sure that it wasn't a screamer before staring into the screen for a half a minute, raise your hand.
- KMye, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22Funny, that seems like it would have made a much better description...
- Authustian, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18Shhh.
- c0deblue, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12i'll admit that i thought it was bs and they just put in a color pic when it changed
- getjustin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Wow, you completely missed the boat there, Chauncey.
- DlGG, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Stare at the center of this image. When you see the color image, move your eyes... you'll be shocked at what you see!
- bovester, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Cool, but the reason that you see color has nothing to do with "tricking your eyes," as the video says.
It's simply anorthoscopic perception, commonly referred to as "retinal imprinting" or "retinal painting". It means that when you stare at something for a long time, the image remains on your retina for a short time (max is about 30 seconds). - AnotherThought, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6now lets trick the colorblinds
- soapyfish, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I see an elephant!!!!!!
- sgtbutterscotch, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4It didn't actually show the gray castle, it just showed a black screen and you thought you saw a gray castle.
- NucleaRR, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3"Oh look, a sail boat"
- DlGG, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Unfortunately, I realized that right after I hit submit story.
- DrvThruPnk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2the coolest part is that after moving your eyes to see the black and white image, you can stare back at the correct spot and the picture gets its color back again
- SirBryce, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Whoa, Digg submitted a story. It has become self aware.....
Makes my head asplode - binorgog, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2I have been ruined by exorcist girl. Any site that asks me to stare, I just start freaking out
- xerus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Uh, yeah... I liked this better when it was just an animated gif.
- Digg360, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1(sigh of relief) I thought I was going colorblind.
- rages4calm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1old, but cool.. here is a tutorial on how to make your own in photoshop http://www.johnsadowski.com/color_illusion_tutorial.html
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yeah right *****... some deranged alien thing is going to jump out and let off a shrill of a scream, causing me to scream like a girlie man and fall out of my frickin chair. Nope not gonna happen this time... :P
- GRIMREAPER187, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1it didn't work for me :(
- Eric4, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3And the YouTube ***** award goes to *drumroll*: timkidguns!
"this is *****. if you don't stare at it the image still switches. f this." - PolarPyro, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1no it showed a gray castle but it looked color, when really it wasn't.
- sendrius, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Thanks Kevin and Alex
- blackfog, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1This video is dumb, just go to the original website linked earlier
- adamrgolf, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2me me me
- mrsneakypat, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1I submitted that a while back.
http://www.digg.com/offbeat_news/Check_out_this_castle_cool_optical_illusion - WyldAnna, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0What am I missing here? All I see is a video of a castle that turns gray or whatever. No illusion? Or do I need my eyes checked lol.
- SolidForce, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0I thought that was badass
- capiCrimm, on 10/11/2007, -6/+4I disagree. I'm pretty sure the title said it all.
- dutchdude15, on 10/11/2007, -4/+0Power to the Python!
- ongie, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2This was extremely underwhelming.
- dutchdude15, on 10/11/2007, -7/+0Did you guys see it? Right at :21 it flashed "gullible" on the screen.
- wmarkusen, on 10/11/2007, -12/+1Model or not I think that's beside the point. The illusion is pretty cool. Things aren't always what they seem...
