I seem to be picking up loads of "fans", but there's no option to send them all a shout in one go. I'm really not going to be sending them each an individual message, I do not bother sending any shouts at all.

Even if you do get popular, it'll more than likely be a one time thing. Unfortunately, on Digg if your not BabyMan or pizzler, you're *****. That's just how this site works. No matter how good of a story you post, if they don't recognize your name or you don't have some sort of 'lolcat' referrence in the title, you'll be ignored.

I think you become popular after you digg has been shared and then shared again. I don't think you get a popular story on just diggs alone. If any one Knows different please let us all know.

- jeremyduffy, on 02/26/2008, -2/+37I have the same issue. I've noticed that a lot of the people becoming my fans are people I've dug when they first submitted something. There might be some kind of "Quid pro quo" system here that we haven't figured out yet.
Either way, sometimes it makes me feel a little nervous. Kind of like when that silver-back gorilla pays a little too much attention to you and gets a little too close and friendly. - wild, on 02/26/2008, -1/+23I think timing is important. Seems like during a weekday it takes several hundred diggs to get front paged. Yet late on Sunday (and for us early morning risers) you see front page stories with 35 diggs. The site wants to keep content refreshing in a timely manner. I imagine an automatic 200 and your front page threshold, while sounding good, could prove to be slightly chaotic at peek usage times.
