1 Random Story.
I used to come to this website and find hundreds of random stories that took the MSM days to catch up on. Now all I find is an Obama-based (and I am an Obama supporter) political site. If I wanted this type of news, I would go to CNN.com - jaychuck, on 05/17/2008, -45/+775How are you helping the cause? This story is about Digg.
- afidler, on 05/17/2008, -38/+711I think digg needs to add a "Bitching about Digg" section.
- xkingADROCKx, on 05/17/2008, -36/+655hmmm, I could've sworn this used to be a technology website.....
- BeeArePro, on 05/17/2008, -96/+413Were in the middle of a Presidential election, what do you expect us to talk about? Who Paris Hilton is going out with?
- IDiggDrSiN, on 05/17/2008, -63/+263Exactly the problem with Digg , preoccupation with U.S politics , especially with the democratic race and the Iraq/Afghanistan war.
The same users are dominating the front page , and to be honest are "setting the agenda"
Any comments are dugg down unless they comply with 3 rules.
1.Obama rocks and can do no wrong
2. The current administration in the U.S is FUBAR
3. Don't criticise the way digg works.
It's bollox the people who are submitting the most on this site could hold as much power as some of the more mainstream political commentators. It's just become a speaking box for thier agenda as it's almost impossible to get anything balanced or negative about certain political viewpoints on the front page.
I've been keeping the the pages without political news recently , I'm from the UK. - wiachy, on 05/17/2008, -19/+202im so tired of politics. but like kevin and jay said at the latest digg town hall, its political season. once the presidential race is over i believe digg will go back to normal.
- wavesmachine, on 05/17/2008, -2/+145Instant fix: http://i29.tinypic.com/2a6mixk.png
- IDIGTHEDIGG, on 05/17/2008, -16/+149Interesting no stories that have to do with Technology
- bjornski, on 05/17/2008, -5/+131Maybe deselect "election 2008" from your preferences?
- mikem94590, on 05/17/2008, -6/+120I personally enjoy the offbeat section a bit more than anything else, but they rarely seem to make the top any more.
- mark076h, on 05/17/2008, -15/+121the MrBabyMan drama stories are better than alot of the political crap hitting the front page.
- Loonacy, on 05/17/2008, -17/+102Funny, I just looked at the current top 10:

Yeah... TONS of political stuff in there. - frieddonuts, on 05/17/2008, -4/+79Seriously, just uncheck political news and opinion in the customize tab.
- cy9ez, on 05/17/2008, -21/+92I'm not too sure that CNN will cover all the stories digg does.
- Lixie, on 05/17/2008, -9/+79I use the customize feature to block political and the presidential primary race news. I'm getting tired of all the stories worshiping Obama, bashing Clinton, and demonizing McCain. I decided I was going to vote Obama months ago. I don't need 40 stories a day reaffirming it.
- Nobiting, on 05/17/2008, -1/+64thats why I choose not to view political stories from my viewing control panel.
- Falsey, on 05/17/2008, -12/+74It's quite tiresome coming here during these times as a non-American. Sure, as an Australian I take interest in US politics, but I mean come on. When that's all there is to read about, I find that my visits to the site are slowly declining.

- Falsey, on 05/17/2008, -3/+36I had no idea I could do this. Thanks for the tip.
But the crux comes in that there are certain stories surrounding the election that I would enjoy reading and would hate to miss out on. - WiseElben, on 05/17/2008, -19/+51I wonder how many people here became Obama supporters due to all this Obama spam? I don't even understand how you Obama supporters can stand all this Obama worship. Doesn't it get annoying? I liked Obama, but Digg makes me dislike him. It's not his fault, it's Digg's.
So, if you really want him to win, then please shut up or else you'll loose people like me. It's like having an annoying salesman beside you talking in your ears every hour of your day. - XXXXXXXXXXXXXX, on 05/17/2008, -14/+44lol @ Bush lied about giving up golf.
- bstockwell, on 05/17/2008, -9/+38they need to make a site where people interested in say... technology can go and see only stories like that...
oh wait - tyleristheshyt, on 05/17/2008, -2/+32Wasn't there an image JUST like this that made Front Page a few weeks ago?!
- cy9ez, on 05/17/2008, -38/+67You have a problem with digg becoming too political? How about it becoming too much like 4chan?
We just haaaad to get an image section... - UtopiaInTheSky, on 05/17/2008, -8/+35Probably common for an election year. Once it's all over, the political articles will become fewer.
- CobaltBlue, on 05/17/2008, -6/+33I'm pretty sure you can criticize the way digg works. Just don't make a critical comment about apple.
- freeth1nker, on 05/17/2008, -13/+40This is what I'm showing:

One political story. - criterion100, on 05/17/2008, -2/+28I didn't realize Bob Ross was still alive.
- gab00n, on 05/17/2008, -3/+28You do realize that you can choose from a wealth of different categories to satisfy your needs. You don't have to rely on the front page alone, just click news and then browse through the different sub categories, problem solved.
- Maver1c, on 05/17/2008, -7/+32I agree. People are actually surprised that this site spams politics right now? This election will be written about in history books.
- Nerfdude, on 05/17/2008, -1/+24i used to come to digg because it wasn't shoutwire. now it's one "this is my opinion" article from being just that.
- carbonetc, on 05/17/2008, -1/+24If only you could somehow tell Digg to only show you the technology stories.
Oh wait. - PDAIsAOk, on 05/17/2008, -3/+25I thought you quit digg...
http://digg.com/people/Hey_guys_I_m_quiting_Digg_t ... - willdelaney, on 05/17/2008, -9/+31Sadly I also used to come to digg to read Tech news, and other random interesting stories. Not a bunch of stories from people who are simply digging so they can push agendas on us.
I have lost a lot of interest in this site. I used to look forward to checking the site a few times a day. Now i just look forward to any non-political based story on the top10 - rpebble, on 05/17/2008, -4/+26Yeah I think the OP has a couple too many boxes unchecked on the options page.
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 05/17/2008, -11/+32Lets see...
Obama is an elitist. (wtf does that mean?)
Bush is doing "a heck of a job".

I think I just offended everyone.
/sarcasm - chiefbandit2200, on 05/17/2008, -5/+26I was actually a little relieved once Digg switched over from Ron Paul to Obama, but now Obama is the new Ron Paul...
- kupa, on 05/17/2008, -3/+23You know, you could always just Filter the stuff you aren't interested in. Especially as we are approaching the election, simply filter the political stuff until afterwards, no more Obama-Spam! Or whatever it is you don't like.
To be honest though I still see tech news on Digg, yeah political stuff has overshadowed it a bit here and there, but not as drastically as that picture seems to indicate. For instance at the time of this comment the first story is about FF3 being RC1. - dn11, on 05/17/2008, -0/+19i keep saying it over and over, the "Customize" button isn't obvious enough
http://i30.tinypic.com/2qt8v37.jpg - Altanar, on 05/17/2008, -6/+25Why limit what the site could be? It's not like you can't uncheck everything but technology if you want to.
- Muncher, on 05/17/2008, -0/+18How did this make the front page?
/joke - markwilcox, on 05/17/2008, -8/+25What the *****? Chose to hide Political stories and stop your whining.
