- RobbieF, on 03/17/2008, -1/+38Legally Blind Geek here...
Probably 99% of us blinks have a good sense of humor about our blindness. This kind of stuff doesn't offend us at all. It's rare, however, that we come across a joke or something we haven't "seen" before.
To another question, above: Blind people have a couple options when it comes to reading text on screen. There are text-to-speech programs all over the place, that capture the screen and read it to us. Think Stephen Hawking.
Another solution is called Refreshable Braille Display. They're very very expensive electronic / mechanical devices that capture a line of text on the screen, translate it and push up cells of pins, in the form of braille.
The solution I use is just magnification. Screen magnification software is a dime-a-dozen anymore, so that's cool.
The More You Know :) - ElBeh, on 03/17/2008, -3/+33That was epic.
- doctechnical, on 03/17/2008, -5/+33Dugg. Reminds me of the ham on sale for passover. And speaking of blind folks, did you know Helen Keller had a scale model doll house in her back yard?
Neither did she [rimshot] - XXXXXXXXXXXXXX, on 03/17/2008, -2/+28Why couldn't Helen Keller drive?
Because she was a woman. - ElBeh, on 03/17/2008, -4/+27.
