I met this totally hot gay gal and her girlfriend was a scruffy, dumpy butch. The only difference between her girlfriend and a man was half a chromosome and some plumbing. Depending on how close you are, you can get between 1 gold star (was on the front page before, but you weren't close in the date you guessed) and 5 gold stars (right on the nose!). Then the gold stars could be automatically displayed next to the commenter's name for the rest of the week/month, so everyone on Digg could see just how special that person is for noticing exactly when things were on Digg, and also everyone else would be spared pointless grouchy comments like the one above.
