It is just sitting on top of your original red card, and he holds them together so it *looks* like the blue card is the same. The trick is getting the blue card to sit on top of the right red card. Again, it's just sleight of hand. Usually, a false shuffle is involved. People who are really good with cards can make it look like they are shuffling the hell out of a deck, while they are really in perfect control of where a given card is going.

Shuffle the deck like he says- from the top. Insert their card, put the rest of the deck on top and now the blue card is directly above their card. Pick up two cards at once. Done.

    The bottom card has a blue back. It also has a bit of double sided tape on its figure side.
    After the "shuffling", your card is put right beneath the bottom card. The tape sticks to it (it's important that you line up the cards here), and voila, your card magically changed color.

The blue card just tells him where the card is, and he just picked the blue card and the one below it up at the same time. The second time he cut the video so they just switched cards.

  • tstst, on 01/27/2008, -7/+2for those of you who didn't see how the trick worked re-watch the first time he does the trick...you can see him take the target card (your card) off of the bottom of the deck...so when he picks up the blue card your card is beneath it, and you think the blue card has the value you remember. The blue card starts at the bottom of the deck so you never see the top of it.

    PS this video is horrible, not funny and uninformative
