Perfect. I love Jon Stewart. - ciaran036, on 01/06/2009, -19/+359Excellent stuff - is he the only one on American mainstream television telling it like it is?
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -17/+290It's like the Moebius strip of issues: there's only one side!
- buckrogers1965, on 01/07/2009, -14/+245Amazing to me that the only news show that has unbiased reporting is on the Comedy Channel.
- yacinebouatrous, on 01/06/2009, -33/+234he's anti-semitic and secretly works for Hamas
- darkhero, on 01/07/2009, -9/+194I love John Stewart. He is a Jew who is not afraid to criticize Israel.
- richmomz, on 01/06/2009, -11/+193Jon Stewart (at 2:40) - "I get it! Israel isn't sure that the new administration is going to grant them carte-blanche in the 'bombing department.' So they're getting it in now before the January 20th 'Hope and Change' deadline. 'Time's running out!' It's like a civilian carnage Toyota-thon!"
ROFL - pintomp3, on 01/06/2009, -11/+169It's good to have him back.
- pintomp3, on 01/06/2009, -8/+157you need a sarcasm tag round these parts.
- olafcore, on 01/07/2009, -3/+112Yes.
- Ellipsys, on 01/07/2009, -8/+117Jon Stewart - proving that you can be Jewish, a popular force in the media, and STILL refuse to kowtow to the notion that Israel is infallible. Will they start calling him a self-hating Jew? Its good to see some sanity.
This brings the total amount of American public figures in politics or media willing to criticize Israeli politics and policy to a staggering...one. Good show Jon, proving there's integrity to be found in journalism, even if it has to be veiled by comedy to be acceptable to the public, sad as that is. Lets hope Colbert follows suit, in his own satire-filled way. - organicpop, on 01/06/2009, -12/+116Foundation doesn't start with C4
- salmanjafri, on 01/06/2009, -10/+109Bloomberg is a freakin' moron.
- redsoc, on 01/07/2009, -7/+106Jon Stewart is such an anti-semite... oh wait.
- gijoeler, on 01/07/2009, -4/+96"I guess it depends if I force that guy to live in my hallway. And make him go through checkpoints every time he has to take a *****."
Hilarious.
The mainstream media is obsessed with creating a hypothetical situation in which one of our neighboring countries randomly attacks us and assumes we would attack back with all the strength we possess. They also force the assumption that Israel has clean hands and hasn't been strangling this small piece of land with oppressive sanctions for decades.
Thank God for people like Jon Stewart. - inactive, on 01/06/2009, -1/+91Watch the interview with David Gregory. He makes some really good points about halfway into it about all politicians never criticizing Israel. Whether they're Democrats or Republicans, it doesn't make much difference.

- JenniferInMO, on 01/06/2009, -5/+80I saw this last night and needed a new DS for some sanity. He tastefully-ish inserts humor into the whole thing which is a hell of a challenge. He is the most ballsy guy on TV and he can do it because he is on Comedy Central.
- mmmunaf, on 01/07/2009, -11/+78Stewart did an awesome job. But I'm a little irritated that we have to wait for a Jon Stewart post to rise above all the pro-Israeli diggspam. This information has been around for weeks.
- pintomp3, on 01/06/2009, -8/+74Jon Stewart is anti-semitic? Oh that's rich.
- crabbypaddy, on 01/07/2009, -5/+64Only in America where you get the real news from a comedy channel. Meanwhile, Fox news and the rest of Murdoch's evil empire get orgasms every time a kid die in Palestine.
- yacinebouatrous, on 01/06/2009, -4/+59*****... i forgot
- Tom10803, on 01/07/2009, -3/+56The last bit he said about the guy in the hallway was brilliant.
- pintomp3, on 01/07/2009, -3/+56They are two different things, it's hard to compare the two. It's like comparing burgers and pizza. Eat both!
- hpymondays, on 01/07/2009, -5/+57Watching American politicians standing like a choir and singing the AIPAC-dictated song line by line, word by word, makes me want to vomit.
- Betrayal, on 01/07/2009, -2/+54Wow. A comedy show telling more of the truth than the actual mainstream news channels?
- pintomp3, on 01/07/2009, -3/+51Britney Spears sells a lot of cds, therefore her music is the best?
- triplea914, on 01/07/2009, -10/+57I guess it's hard to take a "pro" stance on the murder of hundreds of civilians if you look at things objectively, or if you are a decent human being.
- MediaWeasel, on 01/07/2009, -4/+46Thank heaven for Jon Stewart. He just rocks in so many ways.
- BabyWookie, on 01/06/2009, -6/+48Angry Zionist is angry.
- Janizzary, on 01/07/2009, -1/+40Just an FYI for other Diggers who may not be aware of two of the most outspoken and scholarly Jewish critics of Israel, Noam Chomsky and Norman G. Finkelstein. Also, feel free to research Haredic Orthodox groups such as Satmar & Neturei Karta who are vehemently anti-Zionist. Just throwing that information out there.
- trevorh, on 01/07/2009, -6/+44Well Colbert kind of does. (I mean kind of because he uses ridiculous hyperboles to tell it like it is)
- Waiting2awake, on 01/07/2009, -8/+45This is way the man is great. Completely unbaised able to look a person in the eye with tha t"Are you ***** ***** me? " look, calling it down the pile. Awesome. Here in Toronto, he is the only reason to have cable - well colbert(sometiems) , and TPB, but you get the point.
- Noooooooooooooo, on 01/07/2009, -3/+40Once again, JimmySpaza makes a douche of himself...
- SuperShlomo, on 01/06/2009, -3/+40Define antisemitism please.
- vbullinger, on 01/06/2009, -6/+43Trust me, he is being sarcastic, people.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -3/+38It is not important, what is important that at least he is honest in the little reporting he does and gives people alternative viewpoints which is great for anyone trying to make an education standpoint in the us media landscape.
- BryanG831, on 01/07/2009, -17/+51The Daily Show with Jon Stewart > Colbert Report.
- BdaBeerman, on 01/07/2009, -6/+39I never thought I'd hear an american criticize Israel. Wonders never cease.
- phauwn, on 01/07/2009, -2/+35It's sad that only other Jews can get away with expressing a rational objective opinion on this subject with having that label stuck to them by fanatics.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -4/+35He just got a new fan
- OaklandMatt, on 01/07/2009, -4/+35The entire clip of jokes is worth watching solely for this line. Perfectly put indeed.
- Gareth321, on 01/07/2009, -4/+34That's what I was waiting for. That statement was knocked it out of the park for me. "Fatality".
- smotpoker, on 01/07/2009, -3/+33@sandburn
"there is also an argument to be made that Hamas put those civilians in dangers way."
And it is the same retarded argument U.S. government made before lobbing missiles into Iraq. Would you consider it ok for SWAT teams to kill hostages to get at their kidnappers in every case? Why is the idea so much less repugnant when it happens on foreign soil? They are still people
Anyway, one can also argue that he was unbiased since he did present Israel's position/defense (in the form of like 10 different clips of reporters defending their every action), which is much more than most other news programs do for opposing views a lot of the time - okayokayokay, on 01/07/2009, -7/+37John's not the only one! Rachel Maddow does her best each night on MSNBC.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/#28513029 - TokenBlack, on 01/07/2009, -7/+36He's Jewish.... I think he's just being unbiased - refreshing isn't it?
- Peko, on 01/07/2009, -1/+29hey! Don't mess with us or we'll throw some missiles at you, ya hoser. Take off, eh!
- lisatlantic, on 01/06/2009, -6/+33HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHA.
- Decimit, on 01/07/2009, -0/+25Most of the people that don't just ingest the mainstream news have realized everything Stewart said a while ago, he just puts it so much more eloquently than any of us.
