- leetleo, on 08/25/2008, -9/+303The idea that celebrities can be "green" is just laughable. If you have a disproportionate amount of money, chances are, you consume a disproportionate amount of resources. That's just the way it works.
- derble, on 08/25/2008, -16/+262How Ed Norton goes green:

- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -2/+180How about donating to alternative energy research, if you're pretending to care that much.
Celebrities...lol. - Evazan21, on 08/25/2008, -3/+178No one is ragging them for jet use. The problem is the private jet use.
- bluepill2, on 08/25/2008, -34/+197C'mon, give them a break for jet use. What are the alternatives, boats? trains? donkeys? Can you imagine how much carbon would be released from the major gridlock caused by Coldplay travelling some highway by donkey? plus, donkeys poop, and then you can only have one single paper square to clean up, as per Sheryl Crow policy.
Granted, McCartney's and Harrelson's flying their Lexus and belt buckle, respectively, are just douche. - redfred18t, on 08/25/2008, -4/+123"Coldplay's Chris Martin, for instance, planted 10,000 mango trees in India to offset whatever emissions were made during the release of A Rush Of Blood To The Head, from their coal-fired guitars or whatever."
Haha, coal fired guitars kick ass - Astrofabrical, on 08/25/2008, -6/+124"And just to make sure you're imagining Harrison Ford ripping the hair off of his nuts."
You better believe thats what I was imagining. - TheSarf, on 08/25/2008, -24/+132You know how I know you're gay?
You are Coldplay. - somethinspecial, on 08/25/2008, -5/+82I can't believe Cheryl Crow doesn't get ***** all over her hand when she using just a a single sheet of toilet paper to wipe your ass.
- Sluglas, on 08/25/2008, -8/+73I like cracked.com more and more everyday.
- blah247, on 08/25/2008, -7/+67That's actually how I feel about the whole 'green' movement. People just care about the perception of being conscious.
- redscofield, on 08/25/2008, -4/+63How it could've been worse: He could have left it in the plane, then just had the plane fly him around England while he sat behind the wheel making engine sounds.
i laughed my ass off... thanks for kickin my monday squarely in the balls! - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -4/+62If any celebrity gave a ***** about "going green" they would write off a huge check for the private sector to research and develop alternative and renewable fuel sources. Not by brushing their teeth in the shower or using less toilet paper or dumping their piss in their garden or whatever.
I hate how this has become as much of a fashion statement as it has a valid environmental cause. Then again I don't think its possible for 6.5 billion people to exist at the same time without not killing the planet.
Sometimes I think it would be funny if we all just said "***** it" to progress and lived in caves again, lol. - FatBird19, on 08/25/2008, -3/+61Mark my words, if gas keeps going down in price, all of these green PSAs, the Hybrid love, the green business practices, the low carbon footprint households, and all other related initiatives will go away.
The truth is that most businesses and people really don't care about the environment. They just jump on the bandwagon when there's an emergency and everyone else is doing it anyway. - exformation, on 08/25/2008, -1/+58I really should've seen that one coming.
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -15/+74Oh Al Gore, you're the bitter end.
- ronaldinho, on 08/25/2008, -1/+48McCartney's and Harrelson's flying their ***** in was just totally unnecessary
- Slackdragon, on 08/25/2008, -2/+50I went to the DNC Convention and realized I didn't have any cash; so I hit up the ATM machine.
- asnider, on 08/25/2008, -3/+50One square of toilet paper per *****? Really Sheryl Crow? Really?
- lead2thehead, on 08/25/2008, -7/+50Sheryl Crow's "one sheet of toilet paper" idea was meant as a joke. The story is based on one of her blog entries which was clearly a satire. Her proposal of WASHING the toilet paper square and reusing it should have been a clue. But since half of the population is incapable of recognizing satire or sarcasm, this got printed as real news.
Read it for yourself...
http://www.sherylcrow.com/news/default.aspx/nid/77 ... - Mootabolife, on 08/25/2008, -7/+49Al Gore emitted 31,500 tons of carbon when the average person emits 20/yr...
That there is about 1600 people per year. Now imagine how many private jets fly around everyday.. and we tell the average Joe to start saving? If we did away with these rich bastards not caring about ***** by disallowing their private jets, we could save at least 25% right there. They can fly first class, I'm sure it won't kill them. - inactive, on 08/25/2008, -20/+62The Al Gore concert is the worst offender. I really have a hard time understanding how so many people buy into his crap. He admitted that his movie was full of lies and exaggerations but it's ok, because it's for a good cause, yet the hippies keep soaking that ***** up like it's hempseed oil. Having a giant concert to promote "going green" is like having an orgy to promote abstinence. It is just stupid. That concert caused almost as many hot gasses to be pumped into the air than when Rosie O'Donnel talks. Whether or not you agree that global warming is caused by humans, which is still being debated by scientists, (not according to Big Gay Al), is no reason to insist how other people live, especially if you spend your days flying in a private jet to get to work. Why is public transportation fine for everyone but celebrities? Every time a celebrity tells me something stupid, like to use only one square of toilet paper, I go pour a few gallons of old motor oil into a stream, just to balance out the universe.
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -1/+38Yep, you win.
- BoltSteve, on 08/25/2008, -0/+33Did you use your PIN Number at the ATM Machine?
- ronaldinho, on 08/25/2008, -0/+33She just might, and that's why everyone sat on the other side of her on the tour bus
- funk13, on 08/25/2008, -3/+35Actually, Radiohead's In Rainbows tour was a great leap forward in sustainable touring. They used a boat for their stage and crew for the transatlantic voyage and played in cities that had venues accessible by public transit. I think they also let people who carpool park closer to the site at a discounted rate. All LED lighting show that was supposed to be brilliant but extremely energy efficient They did away with plastic bottles for the crew and gave them all Nalgene type bottles.
Radiohead paid out of pocket for all this (read: upped ticket prices) and the tour still had a relatively large carbon footprint for a non-necessity type of event, but they were intent on taking real strides to make themselves more efficient. - thecosmicpope, on 08/25/2008, -12/+45Gores an idiot.

Who has an office like this, then bangs on about people using too much electricity? For Live Earth, Gore had Sting fly in, to tell me to stop over filling my kettle. - gl77, on 08/25/2008, -4/+34you do realize that "DNC convention" is redundant since the "C" in "DNC" stands for "convention". "Democratic National Convention convention" makes little sense.

I think you will get buried for having the audacity to question Digger's man-crush Al Gore. - OneLess, on 08/25/2008, -1/+29Somebody needs to tell Woody Harrelson that cotton clothes from WalMart are vegan.
- busybrain, on 08/25/2008, -1/+28I wish mine ran on bald eagle eggs.
- TheSarf, on 08/25/2008, -5/+29Ha getting dugg down by Coldplay fans who can't take a joke.
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -1/+24Why the private jets for moving stuff? Is FedEx or UPS just not good enough?

^^ The original story on Digg. To me, the comments on that story are still the funniest ever, especially nixonrichard's reply to the very first comment. - sark666, on 08/25/2008, -1/+22Dugg for 'preliminary damage assessment'
- springboks, on 08/25/2008, -0/+19I like crack more everyday
- sindex, on 08/25/2008, -2/+23okay, but Sheryl Crow in a bikini is hot. Plus, there's the Salma Hayek photo, also in bikini.
There's global warming... in my pants. - bodaciousllama, on 08/25/2008, -0/+18@ BoltSteve
no, the LCD display was broken - dekuscrub, on 08/25/2008, -2/+20This is why I hate celebrities. Just a bunch of narcissistic jerks with a huge false sense of self-importance.
- HeDiggMe, on 08/25/2008, -17/+35They only came up with 7?! They could just follow some stars around the DNC convention and blog 10 more.
- PhailQuail, on 08/25/2008, -0/+17Dugg down for live search

- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -3/+18Who the ***** is Ed Begley Jr.?..
- tidu, on 08/25/2008, -3/+18but he has a frog on his wall. He obviously cares about the rainforest.
- Zomgondo, on 08/25/2008, -1/+15They also carry an absurd amount of cargo for their carbon emissions.
- smurfsahoy, on 08/25/2008, -0/+13Hey, let's not say things about hempseed oil we can't take back later. Agreed on all other points.
- FUR10N, on 08/26/2008, -0/+12I used to not like them, but I have to admit that I do like several of their new songs on Viva la Vida.
And I am NOT gay. -
