Microsoft will pay you $5.00, for every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a check. I thought this was a scam myself, but two weeks after receiving this e-mail and forwarding it on, Microsoft contacted me for my e-mail and within days, I received a check for $800.00 !!!! - bstockwell, on 11/19/2008, -0/+59Chain mail is essentially the stumble upon for the over 50 crowd.

- UcIc, on 11/20/2008, -0/+31Got this one the other day:
CHRISTMAS STAMPS
How ironic is this??? They don't even believe in Christ and they're getting their own Christmas stamp, and the USPS won’t even consider posting the Ten Commandments on federal property!!!
USPS New Stamp
This one is impossible to believe. Scroll down for the text, and if there’s only one thing you forward today, let it be this!!!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of Pan Am Flight 103!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon !
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the military Barracks in Saudi Arabia !
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American Embassies in Africa !
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on 9/11/2001 !
REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks!
Now the United States Postal Service REMEMBERS and HONORS the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class Holiday postage stamp.
Please … adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp when purchasing your stamps at the post office. To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors!
Pass this along to every Christian and patriotic AMERICAN you know!
Pretty ***** ridiculous coming from a bunch of people who claim to be Christians. My response (which I was sure to BCC to EVERYBODY who's name I could strip out of the part of the message which lists the previous people who received it in forwards:
First off, that stamp isn't even to commemorate Christmas. After some research, I found it's actually for "Eid Al-Adha - a Muslim holiday which commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael in response to God's command". In 2007 (one of four years the stamp was issued or updated) this occurred on December 20. Source: http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/eidstamp.a ...
Even if that e-mail had been absolutely accurate in stating that it was to commemorate Christmas, there is no other way to describe the true message as that of racism and without religious tolerance. Was not this country founded on religious freedom? Does not Christianity's teachings demand that you love and forgive one another? Is it not up to God, and not any man's duty to cast judgment on man? Why propagate a message of hate towards the Muslim religion in that case? It certainly is not the will of ALL Muslims in the world to inflict harm on others - simply a group of extremists. How is it fair at all to lump a whole group of people together because of the actions of a select few?
It's no different than a tune to the effect of:
REMEMBER the CHRISTIAN slaughter of the Jews during the holocaust (A good majority of the Nazi party was Christian).
REMEMBER the CHRISTIAN bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII which killed hundreds of thousands of largely innocent people (Harry Truman, who authorized use of the atomic bomb was a Baptist).
REMEMBER the CHRISTIAN crusades of the middle east between the 11th and 13th centuries where over 9 million people were killed (half Christian, the other half of other religions).
Klu Klux Klan anyone?
Or any other number of events/extremist groups that can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_terrorism
I could go on and on... but see how ridiculous it is? There will never be any measure of peace throughout the world if this type of mindset continues.
I encourage you not to continue the spread of this awful message and hope you think twice about forwarding it next time you receive something like this. I encourage you to reply to the sender as well. If I have offended anyone, I apologize, but please think long and hard about whether you have just cause for it. - SrDigger, on 11/19/2008, -0/+27there should be some kind of punishment for people that Fwd stuff like this... a severe punishment!

- megaton, on 11/19/2008, -1/+20Maybe I'm just an old fogy, but I remember when email forwarding was common AND okay.
You Diggers take this site for granted. When I was your age, we didn't have no Digg. If something was good on the web, you'd eventually get it forwarded to you. 12 times.
You and your fancy buttons... *grumbles...* - gametavern, on 11/19/2008, -0/+17those crappy .ppt inspirations ones... yuck.
- BlueAyez, on 11/19/2008, -0/+14Gee that's funny. I'm a mom and I resisted sending out this lame *ss crap.
- Ladymongoose, on 11/20/2008, -0/+13My elderly aunt sends this one to me at least every few months. That and the chain mail ones. And the ones stating Obama is a Muslim. She also sends me all the ones that have been totally debunked by Snopes. Oh, and Lolcats....Christ, she sends me a lot of crappy emails now that I think about it.

Disturbing trend in Montana ...
The photo below captures a disturbing trend that is beginning to affect wildlife in the US .
Animals that were formerly self-sufficient are now showing signs of belonging to the Democratic Party... as they have apparently learned to just sit and wait for the government to step in and provide for their care and sustenance. This photo is of a Democrat black bear in Montana nicknamed ...
'Bearack Obama'!
..sigh. unbearable - superppl, on 11/20/2008, -0/+6Except my mum doesn't fall for this stuff. Not only does she have great insight into how computers work (she pretty much taught me about computers) she screams at people who send her this kind of crap.
- cubicrystal, on 11/19/2008, -0/+6Thank you.
- diggB, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4... And while the subject line might say “Thought you might get a kick out of this, sweetie!”, what it actually means is, “I gave birth to you. Why don’t you love me anymore?”
Which reminds me … I should go call my mom. - inactive, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4Couple MILF's in that article.

- Autodidaddict, on 11/20/2008, -0/+0@lemonblood:
No, but there is a way to block a particular digg from your site feed. It's called stop ***** coming here and then just bitching about it. The keyboard shortcut is alt-F4
