- alienate, on 01/03/2008, -1/+21EBay fraud protection is a joke; it doesn't exist. The Fair Trade dispute thing? All it does is forward your emails to the other party. There's no mediator at all. My parents were scammed out of a car on eBay, where the guy kept their money AND the car AND is now suing my parents out of state (which the judge never should have allowed) for supposed breach of contract. My father spends so much money on eBay that he's one of the few people they gave a tech support phone number to, so when they called they found out eBay does nothing to protect them or settle the dispute, and basically said good luck, you're on your own. Unbelievable.
