Every culture has its ugly side. I won't say they're all equal, but they do all have their warts.

        For what it's worth, there are PLENTY of young people in certain Middle-Eastern oil-producing countries who are spoiled a lot worse than this. It's not an exaggeration that in some areas, if their car breaks down, some people simply abandon it and buy a completely new car (rather than taking it to a mechanic). They do this because they are fabulously wealthy due to oil.

Because I spent years riding rental horses, cleaning stalls and working my ass off to show my dedication, my parents spent their hard-earned money on a horse that cost $5000 dollars (this is back in 1980) and I cried with gratitude- my parents were not rich. I had peers in that stable that had horses that cost upwards of $25K or more. We would go to high-end shows, where millionaires would bring their own fricking stables with them and their brigade of Mexican slaves and I would see and hear the most outrageous things from girls my age (14 or so) directed at anyone 'beneath' them- immediate orders to shine boots or get a drink of water for their horse.. never a 'please' or 'thank you'.. One girl, who didn't win her competition flung herself off her expensive horse, threw the reins at the poor hired hand and said "I need a new horse NOW!".

      So frankly, this girl's behavior doesn't surprise or shock me. I really hope the parents stop spoiling her but it's highly doubtful. The worst thing you can do to a child is spoil them. Once they realize the rest of the world doesn't think they are amazing, they can't deal with it. But they are generally so rich, they don't care.

But turns out the helicopters didnt have fuel that day and the small plane that goes the speed of smell that took us to the little helipad place wasn't goign to be back for another 6 hours. So I sat in an airport/sandwich shop for 6 hours waiting on this plane on my birthday. But I was having a kick ass time because my family was there and we laughed and joked. Oh and this really hott Czechoslovakian girl was there stuck as well...so I... helped her with her english :-P
