            Secondly, the fact she knew him from myspace is irrelevant. How is meeting someone from online more dangerous than meeting a stranger that asked you out in person? It was stupid of her and she showed terrible judgment by going to his friends house instead of meeting in a public place, not simply because it was some guy she met from myspace.

They are old enough to make an informed decision on the risk. I met up with a few people I met online when I was 19, and that was only because I didn't get a chance to meet them earlier.

      She's got a point about her being 18 and not needing so much parenting. She should have told her mom that she was going out after work and approx when she would be back, other than that, I don't see a problem with it. I know when i've spent time at home since 18+ I asked permission to go places. I'd usually ask if it would ruin any existing plans my mom had, but that's about it. If I wanted to go out with friends, the only rule was that I let her know approx when I was going to be home. If I was going to be late, I call and let her know. If I wanted to go visit friends for a weekend elsewhere, I just let her know in advance and went, there was no real asking of permission.

      I admit the brother's comments, while retarded and stupid, did make me laugh a couple times.

        The mom in this case, knows her daughter can be irresponsible, so when she was not home by 7 she began to worry, and probably called her a few times, after a couple of hours, she begins to imagine the worse!, she loves her daughter so much, she will call her daughter's friends, maybe she can locate her and she will be ok; no such luck. it's 10:00, and suddenly she comes in with an attitude of princess. The mother must be relieved, but also angry, because her daughter has caused her so much pain. So she tries to find out where she was, the mother is angry so she tries to annoy the daughter with many questions. The daughter doesn't respect her mother so she gives her attitude. ... i am tired good night.

Sure. Would you be 100% certain that it will happen--no, there's exceptions to every rule, but the point is that the rule itsefl still stands and is, on average, correct most of the time.

            you're making big assumptions in order to fit this girl within your rule, and even your rule is highly questionable. i have lots of friends with crazy parents. yeah, they might have some issues about their parents, but those issues don't run their lives. all i'm saying is that you have no idea of the degree to which the mom acts that way and no idea of how much effect the mother's behavior (whatever it is) has on the girl. anyway, you shouldn't assume negative ***** about people. even this girl, deserves the benefit of the doubt...in the butt.
