"Sydney University - late sixties or early seventies. Roadworks near campus. Phone call to local Police station. ” A bunch of students disguised as workers are digging up the road ” Someone tips off the roadworkers, telling them ” A group of students disguised as police are coming down here to cause trouble ” Sit back and enjoy mayhem. Probably apocryphal but funny." - meridian, on 07/16/2009, -0/+19http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hacks_at_the_Massachu ...
- primatage, on 07/16/2009, -1/+19No, you ruined it with all that blathering on about echoes.
- farboo, on 07/17/2009, -0/+10UBC Engineering's best prank was a bunch of fake sculptures they put up around campus in the 60s.
From this article: http://oncampus.macleans.ca/education/2007/11/08/i ...
His favourite prank occurred in the mid-’60s when a number of modern art sculptures mysteriously appeared on campus. “There was some questioning, but various folks chimed in that these were good and they became a part of UBC,” Dunwoody said. “Later on that year, the engineers went around with a sledgehammer and started smashing these things up, at which point there was great furor that the engineers were heathen sorts of people who didn’t appreciate fine art.” The engineers allowed the outrage to reach a climax, then introduced photographs showing that all of this supposedly fine modern art was nothing but junk they had created themselves. “At that point,” said Dunwoody, “everybody shut up real fast.” - Fleagleman, on 07/16/2009, -0/+8...and the "Oh, that's nothing compared to this one prank my college buddies did" or "This one time at blah blah College..." comments begin.
- Mesmeriser, on 07/16/2009, -0/+8the best was the one in the first comment at the bottom of the page ... read it !!!
- average650, on 07/17/2009, -0/+7How did they not include MIT stealing caltech's cannon?
- jeffh4, on 07/17/2009, -0/+7They forgot Caltech changing the Hollywood Sign to say "Caltech.' Not only was it alot of work, one of the students involved got a call from his mom in Scottland hours after it was unveiled. That's how world-famous the sign and the prank were!

UBC Engineering FTW - acevoncash, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4I guess it should have been obvious that none of these would include pissing all over someones door, but I was really expecting it.
I guess I'm not really a genius after all. - MrSparkle666, on 07/17/2009, -0/+3Wow, that was not very interesting at all.
- damien6669, on 07/17/2009, -0/+2except they are mostly different.
- STPZ, on 07/17/2009, -0/+2Yeah pranks are fun but why not just start throwing chickens from nearby farms of the roof of a twenty story dorm to see if they could fly, twas for science, and if all else fails coax a large cow into an elevator of the same building and proceed to press all the buttons.
**disclaimer: only heard these stories from a semi-retired campus police office during a 4am knock knock, dont bother me now im bang banging, to have a witness report filled out in regards to a broken up party some hours prior**
Edit: My summer is lackluster let me enjoy my reminiscing, digg u later - DesEagle, on 07/17/2009, -0/+2Being a member of Fleming, it really wasn't anything all that special. All in good spirit, though.
Besides, that thing's plagued with diseases, with all the crazy ***** drunk people from Ricketts and Page do to it.
I think they should have included Techers handing out MIT shirts during MIT orientation that read "Because not everyone can go to Caltech" on the back. Genius. - robbob, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1Piece by piece?
I guess there were no cranes or helicopters in 1958 - orville1151, on 07/17/2009, -1/+2Am I misunderstanding helicopter physics?
One of the pranks was dumping dung out of a helicopter, and the article said that most of the dung blew back up at the people in the helicopter. Wouldn't the helicopter be blowing air down, and not up? - inactive, on 07/20/2009, -0/+1"The engineers allowed the outrage to reach a climax, then introduced photographs showing that all of this supposedly fine modern art was nothing but junk they had created themselves."
Isn't that the definition of modern art? - skipvt, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1Those crazy collage kids.
- thethunderbird, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1Oh Dunwoody... he teaches every engineer that comes through at least one course.
