It should have been a hand pointer when going up the guy's nose, A Crosshair when holding the gun, And an Hourglass or Watch while hiding. And a Spinning Rainbow cursor when "dead" at the end. And why was the mouse the bad guy? The mouse and cursor work together, why not take a device that doesn't work with the cursor like the keyboard.
A business with a rogue cursor could be really funny. Distracting the client, then dragging and dropping new text into a new contract. Becoming a magnifying glass and enlarging or shrinking various objects. Hovering over people and getting a tool tip to appear with what is really on their mind. Becoming a fill bucket and repainting the office with some garish pattern.
