I'm from the Philippines. These dances are all from a kind of variety show the inmates prepared for college students and other volunteers in a program that taught inmates to read and write, among other things. The inmates you see dancing around and stuff are there because they want to, to express their gratitude to the people that helped them. - kd1s, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hey, if it helps keep the prisoner population happy they're more likely to be obedient. I think they've stumbled on a great idea. It's very much akin to boot camp for prisoners here in the U.S. A strict regimented life helps keep discipline problems in check.
