- Veni_Vidi_Vici, on 10/21/2009, -1/+10Ah, it's Christopher Columbus. I suppose that one's obvious, but just because we all learn who he is doesn't mean we know what he looked like. In any case, ancient civilizations like the Greeks knew that the earth was round, so Christopher Columbus wasn't exactly the first one to make the discovery. He just overthrew the European notion at the time.
- enronhubbard, on 10/21/2009, -0/+8no *****

I'm surprised I've never seen this man quoted (especially on Digg) more often. - BabyWookie, on 10/21/2009, -0/+7I still don't get how him being able to travel to the Americas (or as he thought, India), proved that the Earth of was "round". It still could have been a flat circle, with him traveling parallel to the edges.

- Airbear007, on 10/21/2009, -3/+8Dude just cuz they are in the bible doesnt make them not real even if you are an athiest. Even Jesus has been proven historically to exist. The controversy is over if he was the son of god or not. Not that he existed.
