"Yes" in Japanese is 'hai' and I was walking back to my hotel late one night and I saw this really cute jap girl who just went "Hi" walking past, so as you'd expect I'd be a complete nutcase not to make my move and atleast say hi back... so I said something along the lines of "Hi hows it going, rainy night huh..." but she just gave me a "wtf is this wierdo foreigner looking at me for..." and kept walking, thats when I noticed she on the mobile...
I did see her again once a few days later and she came back and properly say hi and show me she wasn't on the phone.
