In the REAL world, there is no "right" side in that conflict, neither truly has the moral upper hand, because both have done pretty terrible stuff. This is why true resolutions to the conflict is so far off, why the situation is so difficult. The more bigots such as yourself would claim that "Israel is running over their children with tanks", "Israel is poisoning the Palestinians' waters" or "Israel is distributing candies which make Palestinian women horny and slutty", the more you talk out of your ass - just makes OUR point valid.
I was not being sarcastic - but from now on let the sarcasm begin.
This is a very accurate depiction of the situations. You see, Israel just tries to kill the Palestinians all along. Sure, it has nukes, it has the most powerful army in the middle east, yet they are unable to do a simple thing like point-shoot-and-kill everybody. Believe me, if there was a genocide it would already have been long gone. Fact is that all those big bombs you see in the comics are flying towards gaza? those try to hit the bad guys. a.k.a terrorists. The missiles flying from Gaza? those are targeting civilians.
The fact that Palestinian civilians are getting killed is a sad truth, but to expect a war to have no civilian casualties is immature and as possible as the hippie notion that if we all just "drop our guns everything and spread some love, man, everything will be, like, awesome".
Add to that the fact that Hamas, the democratically appointed leaders of Gaza call for the destruction of Israel, genocide on the infidels (that include you, btw) and so forth just goes to show you that THERE IS NO CHANCE OF PEACE. NEVER HAS BEEN, NEVER WILL BE. Get that into your American "I live half across the globe, probably never even met a religious extremist Arab" head.
Is Israel clean as a whistle? no, of course not, not more than America is in Iraq. But it HAS withdrawn from Gaza. What did it get? did the Palestinians took the gesture of peace and lay down their arms? what did Israel get in return? missiles. A lot of missiles. So, Israel should withdrawn - thats ok by you - but if it gets in return missiles - well, thats still ok by you. This isn't being pro-peace, thats just being a racist.
A final word about the occupation, will the original owners PLEASE take these lands back? I'm not talking about the Palestinians, of course. Gaza was originally conquered from the EGYPTIANS and the west bank? JORDANIANS. These guys won't take these lands back even if we paid them.
There was never a Palestinian state, there was never a Palestinian people. Why won't you read some books before you form an opinion solely on the highly biased CNN and BBC (as biased as Fox news, only to the other side).

Panel 1: The superpower is attacking the non-superpower with air strikes, missiles, bombs, general hostility, etc.
Panel 2: Nothing happening here really; it's just the aftermath of the attacks.
Panel 3: The attacking on the part of the superpower continues.
Panel 4: In retaliation, the non-superpower decides to launch their own offensive, which is considerably smaller than the initial attack(s) done to them.
Panels 5 and 6: The superpower feels wronged due to the retaliatory strike, so they continue to attack the non-superpower on a much grander scale than ever before.

If this were about Israel, then you'd think that the skyline would resemble either Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, Israel's largest cities (by population). Last I checked, NEITHER has two towers as depicted and well, you know, aside from the MASSIVE TWIN TOWERS, one of those buildings also looks a lot like the Empire State Building or even the Chrysler Building.

They could do a lot more. Israel's calmed down quite a bit, they don't even fire back anymore. They just cut the power off. What I'm trying to point out is that no one is expecting Israel to pack up and leave any more than the Palestinians, and both sides could do more for peace than going "Oh noes, the big bad jooz" or "Blah, F the palis". Both parties have contributed greatly to the current state of affairs.
