- Linguo, on 10/22/2008, -29/+896Are you saying that Mario isn't as good as Crysis? HERESY!
- Shiftgood, on 10/23/2008, -64/+8651 frame... we'll let you know when the second loads.
- downwiththeking, on 10/22/2008, -277/+905Highest End iMac is $2,199 http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/fam ... FAIL more please.
- AdeleMor, on 10/22/2008, -24/+590i wonder if they could've made those wires any more ridiculously tangled
- CYR1X, on 10/23/2008, -14/+544I don't know whether is this pro-mac or pro-windows, WHAT DO I DO?
- rockon4life45, on 10/23/2008, -31/+388Nowadays, yes actually.
On Medium or High? Yes
On very high? No. - seldon452, on 10/23/2008, -17/+343PCs are better for gaming (in terms of bang for buck).
I don't understand why its one side or another. I have a MacBook for school and a PC for desktop gaming at home.
Can't we just all get along? - dixta, on 10/23/2008, -21/+320And a $4,000 iMac??????
- benjhaisch, on 10/22/2008, -81/+370really? a $4000 iMac? If you could even put $4K into an iMac that thing would be super fast.
and you could run games in windows if you dual boot. - evil-doer, on 10/23/2008, -9/+268um. very easily. 1300 bucks? that would be a hell of a pc.
- cnot3, on 10/23/2008, -54/+311Macs can't run Mario....the only game they can run is photoshop.
- inactive, on 10/23/2008, -1/+236NO! We must fight over stupid *****!! CMON HIT ME!
- ShoGunX900, on 10/22/2008, -25/+241Good analogy. reminds me that i need to clean the cable clutter behind my desk...
- moto526, on 10/23/2008, -101/+298Mac's are over priced, bottom line.
- Trekhawk, on 10/23/2008, -23/+213Totally! You buy a Mac to be seen working on a manuscript at Starbucks.
- waxcrash, on 10/23/2008, -18/+208As a Mac user, I found this pretty funny because it's partially true - at least before the transition to Intel. I remember back in the PPC G4 days, the best we could get was Ghost Recon, Halo, Warcraft III, Medal of Honor. And in the OS 9 days, Marathon, Unreal Tournament, Quake.
Of course, who buys a Mac to play games? - itachi01, on 10/22/2008, -49/+217touche...
- mokaone, on 10/22/2008, -23/+186even after configuring the iMac with more RAM, HDD space, Etc. i was only able to come up with $3,861.95
- inactive, on 10/23/2008, -47/+206I love my Mac, but this is funny.
Shame on Mac users who bury this. - treas, on 10/23/2008, -7/+158I can build a top of the line PC for 1300 dollars, and it would be able to play Crysis.
It has occured to me that your comment might actually be the same as mine. - SuicideMouse, on 10/23/2008, -1/+143Acid.
- MrM4nager, on 10/23/2008, -6/+147Graphical power is in the cables?
- iofthestorm, on 10/23/2008, -3/+111Well, dunno about the Dell but you could easily build a system with a Radeon HD 4870 (~$300) or GTX 260 for $1300, probably with a quad core and 4+GB RAM. $1300 is a lot if you know how to spend it. That said, I don't think Dell knows how to spend it, but they sure do know how to take it from you.
- rockon4life45, on 10/23/2008, -32/+134http://i33.tinypic.com/2cyi5w6.jpg
- tbob19, on 10/23/2008, -7/+99I can play Crysis on my $500 pc on Medium/High. So a $1299 PC should easily play Crysis, if built right it could probably play it on Very High at ~30fps.
- inactive, on 10/23/2008, -5/+84you could have saved $600, built your own and run Crysis better
- DismantleRepair, on 10/23/2008, -0/+78But can it run Mario?
- jlimon, on 10/23/2008, -50/+122So you're telling me an iMac has fewer cables AND better games? Awesome..
- hellsing47, on 10/23/2008, -11/+81Hows your medium settings and 15 fps?
- FTWmovin2canada, on 10/23/2008, -15/+83Actually, I just bought a Dell XPS 630 with the dual Nvidia 512 MB graphics cards for $1199. That will do Crysis at 58ish FPS.
Dell trying to get rid of old systems before the new processor + credit crunch = deep discounts ($470 off). - Buckeye17, on 10/23/2008, -4/+68I can run Crysis on Very High on my 2-year old desktop with integrated graphics. Then again, my resolution is 48 x 32.
- dannyboy3020, on 10/23/2008, -4/+66It would not be anywhere close to $24,029!
- Garay002, on 10/23/2008, -15/+77^^ thats not the point, retard.
- IndianXC, on 10/23/2008, -45/+99There's going to be a crisis when the apple zealots wake up and realize they've been had
- rsims17, on 10/23/2008, -23/+76$4,123.96 with tax
- theguesser10, on 10/23/2008, -7/+58Easy when you don't pay for Windows
- Coolspot420, on 10/23/2008, -8/+58Sure it plays Crysis....

- BigATB, on 10/23/2008, -12/+61crysis on an imac http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4wvsehdyOk&feature ...

not spam
just evidence - NotYourProdigy, on 10/23/2008, -3/+51I'm fairly sure the $1200 model could play Mario
- SanFranMan, on 10/23/2008, -4/+51Tom's Hardware found that base models are equal but Mac upgrades are highway robbery.
- evil-doer, on 10/23/2008, -4/+50and thats the point, isnt it?
its behind your desk, you cant even see them. - DarkLance, on 10/23/2008, -3/+49like stickers on a car, or flames on a go-cart
- ZackRI, on 10/23/2008, -32/+78Waaait.... $3999 for an imac. Who ripped you off sir? I mean I only paid 2999 for my Mac Pro. I can run Crysis just fine on it thank you.
- blueRAP, on 10/23/2008, -0/+44But you probably never will.
- themajor, on 10/23/2008, -1/+42They are using monster cables.... those things make all the difference.
- paradigmx, on 10/23/2008, -9/+50"A Dell is great if you are 12 and all you need to do is play video games all day, and if you need to do professional graphic design, audio, video, or web development work wit access to both Adobe apps and a Unix based Apache system for testing? Not so much..."
how about if you're 29, a gamer, a programmer, and you like doing web design on the side?
hmm, well, i guess theres Windows XP, and you could run Linux or FreeBSD in a virtual computer(look ma, no rebooting) Even if your PC is slow you can still run a *nix without the gui and won't notice much overhead, if any at all.
after that, lets see, Windows runs adobe and a lot of people claim its faster than on mac now, Games run on Windows, Linux is Unix based, so running a unix based apache system is easy. If your next thought runs to viruses and spyware, i really have no idea how so many people get them, I'm running XP, the same install for almost 2 years, i have an antivirus, an antispyware, and a firewall running, i keep up to date, and I can honestly say, my computer is safe, secure, and i have no idea how people get infected to begin with. My laptop is just updated regularly, no antivirus, no antispyware, i run an online virus check about once a month, and even then it remains clean.
I've said it before, i'll say it again, Macs are for computer illiterates and the "me too" crowd( i assume you fall into the second category)
And remember, games are not just for kids anymore, in fact, the average age of a gamer is 33 years old, just a little older than your "12 year old" so stop stereotyping gamers - inactive, on 10/23/2008, -3/+43@theguesser: Who does?
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -33/+72It's funny because it's true
