- MasterSharma, on 10/12/2007, -1/+67I like this lion better
http://youtube.com/watch?v=bicIwwQhNtc - davdev, on 10/12/2007, -2/+53I did something similar to a silverback gorilla in the National Zoo once.
I thought I was funny doing little monkey faces at him (yes I know Gorillas aren't monkeys), and he got really pissed off. HE leaped from one corner of the cage to me at the oposite corner in a heartbeat and punched the glass right in front of my face. He litterly made up 30 feet before I could react. He gigantic paw smashed on the glass right in front of my nose.
My wife looked at me and called me and idiot, and she was of course correct.
Lesson I learned was never ***** with a silverback - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35He was behind a pane of glass.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+34^^ You mean the zoo?
- zenatek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32Note to Dolomite: Sarcasm doesn't work on the internet.
- tonich03, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30You'll never know? Apparently there is a lot of stuff you already don't know.
- burkay, on 10/12/2007, -2/+29try to explain natural selection to that lion.
the tourist mocks the lion, the lion cannot do a thing.
tourist with expensive camera wins,
lion with sharp set of teeth loses.
natural selection is replaced by technological selection. - JCSaint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25Who else wanted the lion to eat that guy just to shut him up?
- h3nry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24the lion is likely interested in the baby. next time you are at a zoo, observe that the large cats pay little attention to spectators when only healthy grownups are involved, but as soon as young children, cripples, or elderly persons come near the cats become noticeably more agitated. a zoo keeper at the Toronto zoo told me the cats just really want to eat somebody, and just like in the wild they prefer to attack the young/sick/damaged/weak.
- cocoamix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25This is scarier:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcxhOGyrCtI - pattherat, on 10/12/2007, -5/+28Classic idiot:
Staring at a lion and not breaking eye contact is seen as a challenge by the dominant male of the pride. To boot there was a female behind the male at the time, prompting the male to defend his alpha status even more.
So, continually standing there 'challenging' the male like that is stupid. Of course, so is caging them up for troglodites like this guy to taunt... - dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Feline Disrespect from Behind...
- dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Jesus christ its a lion, get in the car!
- ChileanGoD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Dude, you need to write /sarcasm at the end of the comment. Or else these diggos don't get it.
- Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14i like how he flinched the 2nd time the lion attacks.
I would too, it's just funny to see. - cvrefugee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Yeah, I remember when I was in Belize...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+132 minutes of "Oh man, i'm so dead" "Oh man, i hope the glass holds" "oh man i'm so scared"
Leave the animal alone and walk away jack ass.
Tip for this guy, when your kid is crying in the background because he's scared...its time to walk away.
"I can't believe it, he's hungry." - opitica, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@ bioskope
you're talking about domestic dogs with most likely no hierarchy to follow. try doing that to a pack of wolves in the wild. - althalus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I had something like this happen to me once when I was 7. But it was a giant Gorilla who charged the glass because the dumbass I am started beating my chest at him.
It was scary. - spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5He just wants a hug like that other lion!
- johnas, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7@ jrocknyc
When the guy says "triangle him" he is likely facetiously talking about a triangle choke.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFd8WEGUfjk - xelloss, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Reminds me when that fat kid fell into the snake cage on Harry Potter, if only it was the same.
- waluum, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7They've caged up a wild animal that has it in his blood to roam across hundreds of miles of open plains. Part of me wishes he broke through the glass so they could put him out of his misery.
- Volatile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6wrzhydr, I don't go to the zoo at all, for that very reason. It's disrespectful to the animals at best. They should be left in their natural environment, no matter how close we can come to replicating it. It's a ***** up situation, I think.

Yes - I once had a cat about that size, his name was Cosimo. By age 7 Cosimo had some serious problems and had to be put down. Yes, extra weight on a cat is as detrimental as it is on a human.
This is Cosimo: http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=80341234&context=set-72157594534805296&size=l
He was a good boy. I still miss him. - Gryph1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4>:3
- eggo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2now THAT is a pissed off lion. I hope he got away.
- subsonik, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Um...no. that is nature. Everything there has a reason to be there. I doubt a zebra would sit and "tease" a lion in the wild. Neither would Laughing Boy with the camera. And if a zebra did have the gall to do so, I'd say he'd deserve whatever should happen to him/her.
The fellow that was antagonizing the lion was emboldened to challenge him solely by the fact that there was a barrier to prevent the lion from tearing him to shreds. Although you cannot see what the guy is doing as he is holding the camera, one could reasonably assert from the audio cues (the wife saying stop, the baby being scared) that he was close, pointing the camera, and probably looking directly into the lion's eyes for no other reason than to be a dick. The lion is irritated, his woman is nervous, the baby is scared, and he's busy talking about the lion's appetite and assorted foolishness. What kind of dick would do something like that and stress everyone from the lion to his family out? He's a dick.
Don't let poor reasoning and a lack of empathy blind you to the facts. :) - bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4interesting.
In the case of dogs, the best way to get an agitated dog to not get you to attack you or continue being angry with you is to maintain steady eye contact - yoyar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Agreed. The guy with the camera is a dick. It's sad that so many think this is funny.
- jagtar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"holy cow" "holy cow" "holy cow" "holy cow"
- sbasund, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wtf
- jucodadi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5There is more than just a thumbnail and description. Try clicking the link dude.
- DiggsOnlyNeoCon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You sure crack yourself up...
- dpeck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1'holy cow...'
what a *****. - jlewicki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1reminds me of that nine inch nails song:
"see the animal in his cage that you built...." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wish I had £1 for every video on the net of killer action terribly filmed.
- 28dayslater, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2It sounds like Boston Rob, only a little smarter.
- wrzhydr, on 10/12/2007, -9/+9you really are some kind of special huh? You can't be sure he's making constant eye contact with him. Secondly, I didn't see him taunting the lion. I don't recall him beating on the glass or ***** with it. Besides, its a ***** zoo, thats what people are supposed to do, look at the animals. Do you go to the zoo for the pop corn and cotton candy then leave?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What a ***** ***** this guy was to torment that lion. With any luck, dimbulb will come back to visit another day and we'll get to see the version where the glass breaks and the lion gets an extra lunch snack.
- ptsd, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5how is this guying an ass or an idiot, how is he mocking or provoking the lion by just looking at it?
hes at a ***** zoo, have you been to a zoo? you understand the concept of a zoo? you look, stare, watch animals in cages.
maybe you should just realize that a lion is a lion, and a lion in a cage cant be that well adjusted.
when you watch nature films i bet you find yourself constantly berating the zebras for harassing the lion. - shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That cat is amazing. The world is a worse place with him gone.
- kerrek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0So what can I say? Lion is big, but in cage he looks unhappy, and man who shoot this clip not arouse sympathy.
- shinynew, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1"WOW! incredible footage... how this guy got away I will never know..."
amazing. - Merby, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3I definitely like that other lion better as well, mastersharma. That was awesome.
- echoforever, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1He wouldn't have gone that close if he could hear the lion roar.
- ptsd, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2antagonizing the lion? you mean stand there looking at the animal and filming it with a video camera...again, have you ever been to a zoo? do you understand what the concept of a zoo is?
i pay money to go to a zoo, maybe i want to see the lion exhibit...im not about to leave because the lion is pissy. you want to get angry at someone, get angry at the zoo. - HeL1ves1nYou, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Dumb asses like that guy deserve to get eaten
He should have just came out and said "hey, i wonder if i ***** with this lion enough if it'll break through this glass and tear my ass to shreds" - kylesherman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Haha...that was the best... "I can't believe it....He's hungry..."
