- MidnightRIder77, on 08/27/2008, -16/+1942Would you steal a Car? Would You steal a Purse?
Me: No, but I'd sure as hell make a copy if I could. - JBabin3xB, on 08/27/2008, -27/+673i don't see the point of the top row of stars
- Gepetto, on 08/27/2008, -13/+576But I do steal cars, does that mean it's ok for me to pirate movies?
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -14/+549FW: Hello, RIAA
- Andrew33, on 08/27/2008, -34/+511i like turtles

- MacSuxWindozSux, on 08/27/2008, -1/+292It would be a step in the right direction.
- darkzero, on 08/27/2008, -2/+258you wouldn't steal a baby...
- BooLag, on 04/23/2009, -11/+246A Rick Roll: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -102/+287Identity theft is not a crime? They did not remove the original, they copied it.
Or what about counterfeiting money? It's not theft since they only made a copy. - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -12/+194Actually the pic says nothing about it not being a crime. It only states the difference between piracy and theft. Whether or not you consider piracy a crime is up to you.
- EggNogIceCream, on 08/27/2008, -1/+175Not a Rick Roll.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMbAO4KSNXo&feature ... - wwwonka, on 08/27/2008, -4/+161Cool graphics! Did you make that with a pirated illegal copy of Adobe Illustrator?
Well...on second glance it's looks more like MS Paint, so you should be safe. - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -13/+163FP material?
"the day when" _digg_ "declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night. We will not vanish, without a fight. We're going to live on. We're going to survive. Today, we celebrate our" ability to duplicate media? I'm getting pretty sick of hearing about guys who've pirated some songs going to federal-pound-me-in-the-ass-prison to be raped for years because they preferred P2P over a trip to Best Buy. There has to be another way... - eawgoalie, on 08/27/2008, -15/+141that wouldn't be theft, that would be trying to pay for something with fake money.
- gringer, on 08/27/2008, -4/+127Attacking ships, taking their cargo, and enslaving the people on board is a really bad thing to do.
- jlian, on 08/27/2008, -4/+120You wouldn't shoot a policeman...
- richlw, on 08/27/2008, -0/+115and then steal his helmet!
- temporaryescape, on 08/27/2008, -2/+115Some people can only step in the right direction anyway...
*resumes blue steel pose* - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -1/+112I'd have a bunch of illegal copies of Lucy Liu.
You know, to go alongside my Merilyn Monrobot. - CarnivalOfDust, on 08/27/2008, -1/+112You wouldn't go to the toilet in his helmet!
- trafficlight, on 08/27/2008, -3/+114Counterfeiting is fraud, not theft.
- volcomboi, on 08/27/2008, -1/+112And then steal it again!
- L33tmaster, on 08/27/2008, -1/+102And then send it to the policeman's grieving widow.
- CVL4317, on 08/27/2008, -4/+104why steal if you can pirate it?
- satanguy, on 08/27/2008, -1/+97that's cuz you don't say it right
- mrsteveman1, on 08/27/2008, -4/+99Pirate babies....thats just.........wrong. (or awesome)
- Gamer2k4, on 08/27/2008, -2/+90I'm a pirate, not a spelling teacher.
- jlian, on 08/27/2008, -0/+81Pirated Windows.
- inigomntoya, on 08/27/2008, -4/+82Yet we continue to duplicate them...
- shaherazad, on 08/27/2008, -1/+78But real pirates, like ship pirates, they take the whole thing. They don't copy...
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -4/+79Thank you, Andrew33, for your addition to our conversation.
- manacubus, on 08/27/2008, -4/+79Err, then I think we need another word for piracy. Pirates didn't make copies of the booty they plundered. They stole it. Piracy IS theft, but in a jaunty hat.
- thunderclap, on 08/27/2008, -3/+76I don't see the point to the RIAA but they exist and so the top row of stars.
- EllimistX, on 08/27/2008, -2/+65How's Magnum coming along?
- BlaqReaper, on 08/27/2008, -2/+63Pirates used to sink ships, steal gold, and drink rum....what happened to the good ol' days?
- sooperspook, on 08/27/2008, -19/+80'Stealing' means depriving someone of their property. Making a copy of something doesn't deprive the owner of theirs.
Also, while I agree that artists should be compensated, I do not agree that their work is worth the millions (if not billions) of dollars they make from it. What has Madonna done to deserve all that money? Written and sung some songs? Pranced around in her underwear? Why aren't doctors, nurses, firemen or policemen paid as much as singers and actors? They do far more important work. - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -4/+60I'd buy one though.
- esthercaulfield, on 08/27/2008, -2/+57You're not a full-time musician because you're a part of that 99% of musicians who don't make it to the "big time"...Hardly because someone copied your CD.
- Dukaso, on 08/27/2008, -0/+54My nerdness is showing... but... the human civilization in Star Trek has risen beyond the persuit of wealth. They generally peruse knowledge. Money doesn't mean much to them (Do they even have it?)
- devinjohnson2, on 08/27/2008, -0/+54They're there for moral support.
- jj101, on 08/27/2008, -0/+48@CarnivalOfDust - in the UK there is a bylaw that states that if a woman needs to pee and there is nowehere to go a policeman must offer his hat as a recepticle and shield her with his coat. I tried to get a friend of mine to try it at Carnival this year, but she wouldn't.
- UserNull, on 08/27/2008, -2/+50He shouldn't even be talking about it right now.
- sasukechaos, on 08/27/2008, -12/+59Before.
After.
Question.
Answer.
That was easy. - MWeather, on 08/27/2008, -7/+53Theft of a service? A service is something someone does for me, not something I can own. A CD is not a service, a concert is.
I'll gladly pay for live music. At least that requires the artist to work. - PabloMac, on 08/27/2008, -2/+48The submitter needs to "copy" a good spellchecker program.
- tekkitan, on 08/27/2008, -1/+46not a rick roll either
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Xfqkdh5Js4 - jasmus, on 08/27/2008, -9/+54so.. we're digging definitions now? Should I just submit a link to Dictionary.com?
- HoraceBalthasar, on 08/27/2008, -0/+44Damnit, BuLong. You got me. :(
