- algaeturd, on 12/17/2008, -35/+1681Can someone read that to me? I have a patch covering one eye and there's a parrot flying around in front of my other one...
- jaasum, on 12/17/2008, -61/+1136Is it that hard to pay for stuff really? I mean, not all software is thousands of dollars. Most people ask for very reasonable amounts.
- doublefelix, on 12/17/2008, -4/+662Submitter really sanitized his desktop before taking that screenshot.
- twodollars, on 12/17/2008, -4/+640Dugg for "Shame On Me" button.
- ttamshadbolt, on 12/17/2008, -7/+463you gotta support independent developers man
- Aroundtheworls, on 12/17/2008, -17/+389I think there are two factors here...
First, a lot of pirates are students and other folks who wouldn't otherwise buy the program if there was no way to illegally obtain it. This is how the software, music, and movie industries inflate their 'dollars lost to pirates' number- they count every download as something that would otherwise have been purchased, which is obviously false. The truth is that a lot of people simply can't afford it.
Secondly, a lot of apps have a very specific purpose and people may need them for a single use. As such the $19.99 or whatnot to purchase winds up being expensive relative to its utility. - blackwolfboy, on 12/17/2008, -12/+367Where can I download a new conscience?
- readacook, on 12/17/2008, -15/+366Looks like he hit your weak spot for massive damage... *hates self*
- Xerone, on 12/17/2008, -22/+370Awe, I'd feel really bad. :(
But I'm too poor to afford a Mac... I'd definitely buy this program if I had one. - Aroundtheworls, on 12/17/2008, -0/+338They haven't yet threatened to kill bunnies.

- vinceislegend, on 12/17/2008, -9/+282I guess it's time to become a ninja.
- passedoutghost, on 12/17/2008, -0/+235I'm guessing it's hard to type because of the hook instead of a hand isn't it?
- ha3er0, on 06/16/2009, -5/+233No. You are an ***** just like the rest of us.
- censormagnet, on 12/17/2008, -1/+217its better than penalizing paying users
- indiancompanion, on 12/17/2008, -10/+225that is what the "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" buttons to the right are for
- KibibyteBrain, on 12/17/2008, -8/+211Perhaps he can afford a mac BECAUSE he doesn't pay for software.
- ryuujinusa, on 12/17/2008, -10/+212this guy can afford a mac but cant pay for this software...
- Aroundtheworls, on 12/17/2008, -3/+184You wouldn't shoot a policeman. And then steal his helmet. You wouldn't go to the toilet in his helmet. And then send it to the policeman's grieving widow. And then steal it again!
- sat0shi, on 12/17/2008, -27/+205If you're a student who doesn't have much money, by all means pirate away. I think there's nothing wrong with pirating software if you REALLY need it for your studies or even for your own entertainment. But, when you get out there and get a job, please, please, PLEASE pay for your software/games/music. It doesn't matter if the majority of it is overpriced or sold by major corporations or whatever, some of the money does get back to the little people and that's what matters. If you're pirating in protest of that you have to get it into your head that doing so only drives prices higher and lowers profits for the little guy in the end, so you're doing nothing "useful" or "revolutionary" at all.
Rant mode off. - mindsnare, on 12/17/2008, -2/+177He can't just afford a Mac, he can afford a Dual Quad Core Mac Pro. Notice the 8 CPU meters in his menu bar.
- icabodane, on 12/17/2008, -13/+179Good idea! And plumbers and electricians and doctors should all work for free too! Good thing it isn't hard or time consuming to come up with software with mass appeal, develop it, test it, find a host to publish it on the Internet for free and follow it up for years with updates and bug fixes. I write like 20 great programs on a good night, so I just give them all away! Wee free software for all!
- ursername180, on 12/17/2008, -7/+172So this is what it's like to be married?
- grandhi, on 12/17/2008, -9/+158I can provide a crack to suppress that message...!!
~ramki - virtualonliner, on 12/17/2008, -46/+183***** RIAA!!
- ursername180, on 12/17/2008, -0/+134Now that's just racist.
- kwynn87, on 12/17/2008, -11/+140Way to be a douche and steal from the little guys...
- jsleno, on 12/17/2008, -84/+196Just freeware your program and ask for PayPal donations. That'll stop the piracy.
...or better yet, open source it. - borez, on 12/17/2008, -9/+120It's only $20
- stevenbrown, on 12/17/2008, -6/+112Really, who honestly has NOTHING on their desktop?
- sinrtb, on 12/17/2008, -1/+106EA kills bunnies regularly.
- clubikimakuri, on 12/17/2008, -12/+115Dug for use of the word torrent as a euphemism for pirating.
- thuang513, on 12/17/2008, -41/+142software is better when its free...like porn
- diskoh, on 12/17/2008, -17/+117What a cop out. You can't steal things that you decide don't deserve your money and pay for things that you think do. You don't "strongly believe" in supporting artists if you pirate things AT ALL. Providing a wishy washy rationalization doesn't mean anything, you are just as much an ***** as the people with no remorse.
Do you go to a restaurant, eat your meal, then walk out if you decide the food doesn't deserve your money? Do you walk into a store and say "This shirt isn't that nice, I'll just take it."
Stealing is stealing whether you believe the creator deserves it or not.
This is coming from someone who pirates with no justification or rationalization. I know it's stealing, and I make no excuses. I would rather have it for free than pay. - uzusan, on 12/17/2008, -3/+97The shareware version has no limitations and just has a pop up box at the beginning. Why would you need to pirate this?
From the site:
"There are no feature limitations and no time limits in the unregistered version. The only annoyances are a gentle reminder at login and a short countdown when you open the user interface." - GavinZac, on 12/17/2008, -30/+119Mac users. They don't actually -do- anything with their PCs.
Mac: The PC that can't. - inactive, on 12/17/2008, -13/+100I've only pirated stuff supported by a multi-million dollar industry.
AKA Hollywood movies, Adobe Programs, and music.
Though I guess I could support more small music artists... - sittered, on 12/17/2008, -5/+88Support independent developers so they can grow into larger companies. THEN, when enough people buy their stuff so that they turn a healthy profit, you can download their stuff.
- butyoulied, on 12/17/2008, -0/+81so is a child's smile.
- GalacticRerun, on 12/17/2008, -0/+78Dear Adobe, I'm just a lowly student who can't afford to pay even the education price for your software. May I have a serial number just this once? I promise I'll buy one when I'm making lots of money in the industry.
I'll try that. - KibibyteBrain, on 12/17/2008, -4/+80If you aren't employed even $5-$10 in unessential expenses can add up quick. So that's why piracy is so popular for students.
- ursername180, on 12/17/2008, -2/+75We can't stop ninjas, so we'll accept your registration code. However, you have greatly dishonored us and we never forget, young grasshopper.
- clarkb16, on 12/17/2008, -16/+88I felt so bad after reading this I almost shed a tear....almost
- Straylit, on 12/17/2008, -6/+77This reminds me... I've gotta download GTA4, been neglecting that for a while now.
- terencec, on 12/17/2008, -5/+72i have a rule I abide with all the time. If I use that program for over 3 weeks, I will buy it (given that its not over 100 dollars)
- jeenyus2004, on 12/17/2008, -4/+71I completely agree with you there, there is so much ***** software that I've only needed for a one time use. Excuse me, WANTED for a one time use, I didn't really need it at all. If I would have payed the 10-30 dollars for that software I'm guesstimating that I would've spent around two or three thousand dollars over the past 4 years or so on software that I didn't really need. I definitely wasn't going to buy it anyway so the companies aren't losing any money at all. Most of the programs I use are free anyway...VLC, AVG, Itunes, that's all I use day to day.
