- ross., on 09/16/2008, -3/+87Yeah, that's what the ***** title says.
- andyhite, on 09/15/2008, -14/+72What's wrong with Times New Roman? It's a hell of a lot better than Courier New and Matisse. There's a reason it's the default - it's a readable, well designed font.
- Motherfuhrer, on 09/15/2008, -3/+51So true. I had my Business English class today (English is not my default language, Croatian is) and our professor put that nasty flash green as a background and Comic Sans as a main font. I should really forward this to her...
- cardyology, on 09/16/2008, -1/+40This is actually a great example of how to completely state the obvious.
- talonstriker, on 09/16/2008, -2/+37actually "default" sounds much more sophisticated...i like it
- AmyVernon, on 09/15/2008, -2/+34Have you ever been to a comedy club where the crowd wasn't drunk?
- inactive, on 09/15/2008, -2/+30I agree I thought the crowd's reaction was way too excited. I guess they were drunk or something.
- vypergts, on 09/16/2008, -0/+27Everybody knows that Arial (or any other sans serif font) looks better on screens than Times. Most presentations are done on screens not in print. Do the math. Spare everyone's eyes.
- Thomaschaaf, on 09/16/2008, -2/+25Why is there no "How_NOT_To_Use_PowerPoint_18" ?
- guitaristanyc, on 09/16/2008, -1/+24I make a living designing PowerPoint presentations.
I hate PowerPoint. - darthsand, on 09/15/2008, -28/+49This is actually a great example of how not to use powerpoint..
- xxpor, on 09/16/2008, -5/+25Not trying to be mean, but in English the phrase is "native language", not "default language." Otherwise, your English was spot on. :)
- inactive, on 09/15/2008, -17/+37Good example, but not remotely funny at all... now if he barfed that would have made my day
- InfernoX, on 09/16/2008, -1/+21What if he's a computer?
- akiratheoni, on 09/15/2008, -0/+16It sucks having to sit in my English class and watch Powerpoint presentations that have a picture of a person from Grey's Anatomy with white text as well as stupid transition animations.
- marcoionox, on 09/16/2008, -9/+23RE: RE: RE: FWD: FWD: Funny: How NOT To Use PowerPoint
Video is outdated big time. - danielsamuels, on 09/16/2008, -1/+13It is probably in a different category.
- AtomicTheory, on 09/16/2008, -2/+12Croatia, huh? G’day mate! Let’s put a shrimp on the barbie!
- niteskunk, on 09/16/2008, -0/+10I like Calibri a lot. Most of the new fonts are pretty slick.
- Zootex, on 09/16/2008, -0/+9i dont think that was as funny as the audience was laughing
- inactive, on 09/16/2008, -0/+8Dude, you just made my day.
- tbredofsin, on 09/16/2008, -0/+8I'll give you partial credit. Times New Roman is indeed a well-designed font. But he does have a point--there are plenty of other well-designed fonts (Courier New is not one of them) that don't come off as so stock-standard. And there are some that are more legible from a distance.
- robdiggity, on 09/16/2008, -0/+8If a live-action Muppet Movie is ever cast, I nominate this guy for Beaker.
- LacY, on 09/16/2008, -0/+7That would be painful--I have yet to find a presentation where comic sans is a good font choice.
He was dead on about the Times New Roman, though--every time I see someone with a white background, black TNR text (complete with excel graphs with the ugly grey background) I just immediately assume they were too lazy to change any defaults. Of course, that's not as bad as the people who choose obnoxious backgrounds with unintelligible fonts, either. Making a good ppt presentation is an artform. :) - inigomntoya, on 09/16/2008, -0/+6Oh really? So if I use a different TYPE of presentation software, it will restrict the number of annoying animations, bullet points, words, letters, sentences, and paragraphs allowed in a slide?
- theMADone, on 09/16/2008, -1/+7even if you're paid well i bet you envy everyother career choice on the planet.
- mentor972, on 09/16/2008, -1/+7I enjoyed this last time it was on Digg.
- inigomntoya, on 09/16/2008, -0/+5Don't forget the sounds! You gotta love when they have a pic fly in from the side with a chime in the background.
- Tredici, on 09/17/2008, -0/+5That's Austria you're thinking of.
- WiretapStudios, on 09/16/2008, -9/+14Older than McCain
- Fleagleman, on 09/16/2008, -1/+5Really? Someone actually pays you to do that? Do they pay you to chew their food for them as well?
- twisterrust, on 09/16/2008, -0/+4this video is so old that it uses MS 1945. the camera they used to make this video is in the museum of Cameras. the comedian(don't know and don't care about the name) died 40 years ago and his corpse are now used to study evolution of Jaw
:| wtf is wrong with me today - teethandeyes, on 09/16/2008, -0/+4Power Point is fine. It's the people who use it that are the problem.
- tnoy, on 09/16/2008, -0/+4If you use keynote, you have to submit your presentation to Apple for final approval, and hope that it meets their acceptability requirements.
- Kjgmusic, on 09/16/2008, -0/+4Hahaha, old, but apparently not popular enough because people STILL make these mistakes!
- youliveinfear, on 09/16/2008, -4/+8I like you.
- twisterrust, on 09/16/2008, -0/+3WTF is going on here, yesterday it was mrsbabywomen ... and today this guy
A 28 year-old male from selangor (MY) who joined Digg on September 12th, 2008..and already have 410 freinds
I am burying you every time I see your Name
sorry, dont know why I am so angry - xxpor, on 09/16/2008, -0/+3Unfortunately, I think it would only sound like that if you had a native accent. Otherwise it just sounds like you don't know the phrase.
- felipe82, on 09/16/2008, -0/+3*****, I had no idea that fonts were that expensive...
- LastDitchHero, on 09/16/2008, -1/+4So magically Jobs pulls his wizard wand out of his ass and Keynote make people unretarded? This are mistakes you can make many presentation programs including Keynote.
- DBSABZB, on 09/16/2008, -1/+4It's funny when you see people actually do this crap everyday.
- warsongs7, on 09/16/2008, -0/+3I just have to say it. WTF?
- cawpin, on 09/16/2008, -3/+6Buried for 5min spam.

- 471776, on 09/16/2008, -0/+3There are certainly cases where Flash is a better option, but for the everyday person making a simple presentation it really isn't worth the extra effort. Even if you're good with Flash, it takes longer than using PowerPoint. I wouldn't advocate Flash for presentations unless you want a very professional and slick presentation, or you need some special feature you can't get in PowerPoint.
- raptor87, on 09/16/2008, -0/+2Times New Roman is no longer the default in office 2007
- dsoltesz, on 09/17/2008, -0/+2wtf *yawn* Can we find some actual new news? http://digg.com/software/How_NOT_to_use_Powerpoint ...
- 64705, on 09/16/2008, -0/+2Did the whole audience have a few too many drinks that night? It was a slightly funny performance but not that good surely. (Nothing against the guy.)
- VinnieDaMac, on 09/16/2008, -0/+2That's was more instructional than entertaining.
- Adam420, on 09/16/2008, -3/+5This is just common sense...
