I see people here in the states watching their Naruto, Inuyasha, and so on and so forth, believing this somehow makes them entirely informed about Japanese culture. Now everyone has it in their heads that Japan is filled with nothing but scantily clad women with huge breasts and that their history consisted of ninjas with magic powers. Wasn't Japans medieval age similar to the European medieval age but with different names for the Lords, Knights and whatnot?
    I'm just tired of people here in the U.S. who watch anime and think that that somehow means they know the entirety of what Japan is and was.

Personally, having never been to Japan, my entire concept of modern Japan is based on the movie Lost In Translation. As far as ancient Japan, I'd say most people have a good idea what it was like in reality.
