For example, do bugs freak you out? How many people do you know who'd jump onto a chair at the sight of a mouse? Fear of clowns? Extreme reactions to heights (even in absolute safety)? In other words, it could've been so traumatizing that she blocked the memory. But the fear remained. I always used to laugh at people who were terrified of snakes... or rodents... or even roaches. Now I understand. Hell, at least a snake could hurt you. Even fear of dirt makes more sense than this.

She'll go fishing with me but as soon as she pulls one up she freaks out. I've chased her all over the house with a dead goldfish until she basically shut down and went to her happy place (I'm an *****, I know). My best friend has the exact same reaction to cotton balls, you can bring this 6 foot 7 giant to his knees just by squeezing one in his presence. He claims he can hear it, and I fully belive he can. It's a very strange thing, both of these people are very normal otherwise.
