Conan only has four episode writing credits to his name, and while his episodes were great, the show's quality didn't dip until about four (arguably five) years after he left for Late Night. Conan's departure had little impact on The Simpsons.

I watched Leno for the first time in a couple years a few nights back, and his routine has gone WAY downhill. It seems to have been reduced to about 60/30/10 lame bathroom jokes, Kevin smoking weed, and Bush's latest whatever, respectively. I'll assume it's been that way for some time and that I haven't missed much.
