They were testing the myth pop rocks and coke could actually make someone's stomach explode, which they busted. I suspect that a stomach could also hold up to the pressure of diet coke + mentos, although I bet it would hurt like hell.

I don't know if it was because of something I ate, but this white froth like detergent kept coming up my throat. I didn't throw up, this froth just kept coming up and I would spit it out. Went on for about 3 hours! I didn't feel sick, and it wasn't at all uncomfortable - so it was quite funny and I enjoyed it while it lasted :-)))

While enough pressure is generated to blow a loosely stuck cap from a bottle of soda, it isn't enough to burst your stomach lining (which is extremely tough). You would have to consume enormous quantities of both drink and mentos in an impossibly brief period of time to achieve anything dangerous. And then you have the whole stomach acid issue, which should diffuse some of the limited interactions that might occur.
