i just uploaded it. - DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -12/+49@whiskeymb: Why, you prefer lower quality?
- whiskeymb, on 10/12/2007, -18/+49I could think of a lot of uses for a version of this video on youtube.
- whiskeymb, on 10/12/2007, -9/+40nope, just something that doesn't require yet another codec download...
- mikedpirone, on 10/12/2007, -6/+28Wait. Why am I being dugg down? People were asking for a youtube version so I uploaded it to youtube.
- cypher35, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21maybe we should add a new category for slow motion videos...
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23It's worth the download.. I got the (DivX) plugin a long time ago and it's the most internet-friendly video embed available.
I wish Youtube used it.. - pimpsallad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18http://video.stage6.com/139856/1021427.divx

- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16^^ That's not the same video moron.
- bluetrevian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13This rocks so freaking hard, forget the scientific uses of this... keep blowing things up and record it for me... I need something to do at work!
- GeeksAreSexy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Funny how this guy seems to be splashed by gallons of water when all he's receving is a a few drops ;)
Gotta love divx alternative to youtube.. - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I've seen them at higher speed too.. but this was just really cool.. plus the video wasn't compressed into ***** like on Youtube.
- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16DivX Web Player - Now with Spyware!
From the EULA:
"We may allow other third party companies, known as third-party ad servers, to serve advertisements to visitors of the Site. This Privacy Policy does not apply to such third party companies, and We cannot control their conduct. We will not, however, provide any personally identifiable information to these third party companies without your consent.
Please note that when these third party companies send various advertisements and links directly to your browser, they gain access to your IP address. They may also use other technologies, including cookies, that determine whether their ads have been effective and/or to better target the ads you see. We encourage you to read these third parties’ privacy policies to better understand their access to and/or use of your personal information."
"We provide personally identifiable information and non-personally-identifiable information to third party companies solely as necessary to process transactions relating to the purchase and/or sale of content, software or other material via the Site and/or to maintain your accounts. We require that these parties agree to use and process such information in compliance with this Privacy Policy, and We use reasonable efforts to limit their access to and use of such information. We, or these parties on our behalf, will also share some personally identifiable information (such as name, credit card number, tax id number, etc.) with banks, other financial entities that process credit card transactions, and/or applicable governmental and tax authorities."
Yeah...really sounds like something I want on my computer. Oh, DivX, why can't you be good and not thrust upon us ***** spyware and adware? - DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10But a flash download and install was okay for you? :P
Seriously though, take a look around the Stage6 website, there is a ton of really high quality video there, some of it is in HD and publishing is free. Isn't that worth installing a plugin for? Or do you like low res blocky video? :) - TyGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Thats awesome, this camera is awesome.
- InsaneMachine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8That is NOT the same video. Other video, someone gets hit in the head by a water balloon.
- 31337Noob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I could think of a lot of uses for this camera...
- mojo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9For some reason I read this as water balloon exploding on a guys head shot at one thousand FEET per second.
I'm very dissapointed... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8that was bad ass
- Linkage155, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Oh heavens batman!
- DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It works on Windows and Mac OS, in all browsers.
The site is alpha, that's a bug. Just refresh the page. - DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It normally plays in the DivX Web Player, which has been included in the DivX bundle for several months now, but if you have an older version of DivX installed you might not have that component.
- darrin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm running Firefox under Ubuntu linux and it works just fine.
- lament, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6you have the best quality (divx) and you have the worst quality (youtube). why would you want .mov?
- philcloh2o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I used Firefox to watch the video...
- DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7You need the DivX Web Player.
- Rikushix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5that was great.
and i'm using firefox and it worked fine streaming. - cdmarcus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5On Linux, you can use the mplayer plugin to view this.
- moonhead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Not the same video, cool none the less.
- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8With spyware? No thanks.
- DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4There are a couple of others in the Stage6 "Slow Motion" channel:
http://stage6.divx.com/Slow_Motion - DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Actually, DivX lets you upload XVID to Stage6 too. Try it ;)
- Erroneus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's cool, alternatives are great, I just don't like to see people flaming the DivX Webplayer for no good reason :)
- DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4LycoLoco: It does not come with any spyware, please read my replies to your other comments further up the page. Anyone else feel free to read them also :)
- hometack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Some of you people are ridiculous. Digg is NOT your personally crafted homepage, Digg is community where the wants of the majority determine what everyone gets. Obviously a large portion of this community liked the post, and didn't feel the DivX web plugin posed a threat, otherwise the video would not have 550 diggs (and counting) and be sitting on the front page. If you don't like what the people of this community put on the front page, go somewhere else.
- DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6"There is NO legit reason for them to monitor what I do."
Would you please read what we wrote again:
"We provide personally identifiable information and non-personally-identifiable information to third party companies solely as necessary to process transactions relating to the purchase and/or sale of content, software or other material via the Site and/or to maintain your accounts."
When you _buy_ something on the Internet, a certain amount of information has to be exchanged with whoever is selling that thing, otherwise the transaction can't happen. Similarly, if you even _visit_ our website we _must_ know your IP, or we can't send your computer the content of our webpages - it would be technically impossible.
All that the EULA is doing is disclosing this to you ***so that you don't have to be worried about your privacy***.
Think about it. - DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9@LycoLoco: Uh.. how is that spyware or adware?
First part of that quote: Every single web page that shows you an advertisement does exactly the same thing! Advertisers see your IP because they serve you ads directly.
Second part of that quote: If you buy videos through Stage6 (something you may be able to do in future), then a third party (e.g. the publisher) may need to know certain details of the transaction (such as your username).
Honestly, it is a hard life trying to be honest with your customers these days. The second you try to be up front in your EULA you get accused of shipping spyware. Maybe you'd simply prefer we didn't inform you of these things?
At the end of the day we don't like spyware either. - retral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Easily the best high speed camera vid I've ever seen - if there are better out there, PLEASE link them
- geost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow, awesome video!
- DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4There is no spyware in our player.
Thanks for the flame though! - Snazz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4From their EULA:
BANNERS: the Software will download product banners and/or similar marketing devices from our servers and display them within the Software GUI. A message will be sent to our servers indicating that a banner or similar marketing device has been served. No personal information will be communicated to DivX, Inc. or its affiliates during this process.
I like downloading banners, my connection is too fast anyway so all the extra crap it downloads will help me utilise all that wasted bandwidth. - edmondsonj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2what the hell I put this video on digg and since you put this here i thought this was a dupe cause i dont have divx and now everyone is bashing me because of your dumbass mistake.
(Said it was a dupe up top) - t3hNinj4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Also, you have to restart Firefox for it to work, so if you didn't do that; well, there's your problem.
- lukas88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I like the balloon puppy video too.
WHAT DID YOU THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN?!
They should make a sequel where he returns except he is shaved with a bunch of tattoos - LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7"Honestly, it is a hard life trying to be honest with your customers these days. The second you try to be up front in your EULA you get accused of shipping spyware. Maybe you'd simply prefer we didn't inform you of these things?"
Either way, whether they tell you or not, it's spyware and adware (fine, you want me to tag it appropriately? I'll tag it with both). I'd bet you that Bonzai Buddy and Comet Cursor both have it in their EULAs that it's gonna monitor what you do, but it doesn't make it any better. This is a CODEC. There is NO legit reason for them to monitor what I do. Period. I should be able to opt out of their packed in junk and still use the codec, however when I clicked "No, I don't agree" it wouldn't let me move forward. That's some serious BS. - Erroneus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Jesus crist people, will you turn down the whine!
The DivX Webplayer is a great plugin, it's fast, high quality, doesn't take up alot space, low cpu usage and doesn't require much bandwith, way way way better then Flash.
And it DOESN'T contain spyware, it can download banners to be shown on their pages, I haven't seen any though... - ThomasCS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The acting was sub-par, but the special effects were awesome. Three and a half stars.
- DigitAl56K, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@hometack: w0rd.
- alej744, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Is it supposed to be a joke?
